3.5With dinner at CBC2012, from some old notes. (Believe I have had this from bottle subsequently) Golden pour, small head. Enthusiastic carb. Light sweetness, subtle nutty malt and yeast interplay, slightly herbal hop flavour, small tartness.
3.3Shared with wim and benny at bierfestival dijleschuimers 2014 leuven. Goldblond colored beer with small white head and no carbonation. Fruited smoked aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is fruited caramel slightly roasted.
3.6Bottle @ THT November. Pours a clear golden beer with a very small white head on top. Aroma is very sweet, vineous and the Château d’Yquem is very noticeable. I’ve never drank it, but I know a sweet dessert wine when I smell it. Flavor is also very sweet and vineous, loads of sugar and wine. Aftertaste is sweet and subtle. Silky mouthfeel, good drinkability. Very interesting.
3.0Bottle at THT. Clear gold pour, no head. Aroma is winey, sweet grape, bready, tons of fruity. Taste is sweet, very boozy. Palate is full bodied, a bit hot, light carbonation. Not my thing.
3.3Poured light amber with an off white ring. Aroma of moderately sweet fruit and heavy malt. Medium body, flavour is medium sweet, lightly bitter. Quite vinous.
4.0Bärnstensfärgad med litet vit skum som snabbt försvinner. Doftar och smakar mycket ek, vanilj och dessertvin. Lagom kolsyra och fyllig. Mycket bra öl!!
3.7Bottle, 8.7%. Fruity and veggy aroma. Cloudy amber colour. Very small white head. The flavour is sweet with a distinct coconut and vanilla aroma. Good vanilla note, some citric and sourish note underneath. Vanilla and citric note must be from the barrels.
3.7Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with airy white head. Clear aroma of barrel and malt, with notes of hops and fruit. Sweetish flavour of malt and vanilla, with notes of fruit and hops. Lively carbonation. Rough and slightly citric aftertaste. Nice.
3.4shared bottle. poured a dark amber colour with a white head. caramel, grapes, orange, hints of yeast, tropical fruits, mint, long lasting finish, but boy.. this one is way overpriced!
2.8Golden with a small head. Aroma is perfume, sugary, oak, grape and some cork. Taste is sweet with peach and candy. Hints of wood ans grapes. Medium body and soft carbonation.
2.9Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Clear orange body, small white head. Aroma is sweet sugary cellar mold tones, herbs and hints of honey and hay. Weird. Taste is sugary biscuit tones, cellar mold, pale malts, sugar, hints of wheat flour and wood. Medium body and carbonation. Dry, parching finish. Strange but fair enough.
4.2Pours hazy amber with a massive white head that quickly settles down. Aromas of tangerine, mango, kiwi, gooseberry, slight vanilla and oak. Very nice. Taste is mango, tangerine, orange, honeyed tropical fruit, citrus. Mouthfeel is somewhat tart though not overly so. Aftertaste is honey, tangerine, mango, orange, citrus, resin. Very nice!!
3.6duft: blomster. hyldeblomst, lidt sød af malt.
smag. citrus, sødhoning, svag lime. en smule karamel agtig sødme, eftersmagen lidt alla en hvidvin.
4.0I’m all poetic and loving this, this has upfront bitterness, and a lovely palate that gets better as it warms, nothing though that underlies this and makes this a 5/5 beer for me, but if you brought me one I’d hug you in a manly way. -- and to quote the movie it would "go straight to the pool room"
Loved the bitterness, loved the carry, loved the fruitiness, enjoyed the carbonation, loved itm but could have loved it more if it had slightly more body.
4.126.02.2014, 0,375l bottle sampled @ MAD Beer Brewing release @ Mielcke & Hurtigkarl:
Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich, white wine, caramel malts, grass, butterscotch, dried fruits, citrus. Taste is slightly dry, white wine barrel, citrus peel, hay, grass, dried fruits, butterscotch. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Nice.
3.3Bottle @ Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig. The pour’s gold with a small head. The nose is spicy stewed oranges. Honeyed pear. The taste is a bit soupy. Quite yeasty. Toasted grass. Orange and red berry. Medium body, soft carbonation. OK.
3.5Visual: White foil covering a corked top. The label is pretty basic with simple artwork and the ingredients listed in Danish. Pours very cloudy dirty brown-orange with tons of activity, a nice lasting small ultra-creamy head, sticky lacing.
Nose: Floral honeyed citrus malts, cane/brown sugar. (6/10-pungency)
Attack: sweet-creamy-smooth-crisp mouthfeel
Mid-palate: (8/10)-sweetness, (MAIN) honey, caramel malts, chamomile
Finish: lingering honey-sweetness, light hoppy bitter finish.
Summary: A very nice Belgian-style tripel out of Denmark. The first sip surprised me with its incredible smoothness and texture. Halfway through the sweetness gets heavy.
3.6Bottle. Golden-orange colour with a white head. Aroma is white wine, sugar, yeast. Flavour is white wine, alcohol, yeast, malt, oak, vanilla. Nice beer.
2.6In short: A pale golden belgian ale dominated by sugary honey and woodsy vinous flavors. Meh.
How: Bottle 375ml corked & caged, consumed with some age on it but still 4 years before expiration date.
The look: Medium cloudy pale golden body topped by a persistent small off-white head.
In long: Nose is heavy on woodsy honey (very much reminiscent of linden honey) along with a sensation of smelling a bouquet of flowers in a dusty attic, also light woody white wine notes. Taste is coarse grainy cereals, wood, linden honey, white wine, mild spicy-herbal notes, dusty yeast. Plenty of sweetness that feels a bit like old honey turning into sugars. A beer that throws many things at you but at the end it is the sugary honey and woody vinous notes that dominate and this makes for a beer that is far from easy to drink, the type of blend of flavors that I quickly grew tired of before I even finished a small 375ml. Not sure who Mielcke & Hurtigkarl are but I’m not ruling out they are a couple with a son named Fgiktoqbyxtu.
1.3WARNING!!!
New batch - I Loves the old hurtigkerlnwith its light fruity flavors with notes of the Sauterne in a fresh sparkly beverage. This new battle pours light brownish and has an off note in the aroma. The palette is bitter and also with an off note and lacks the Sauterne notes of the predecessor.
This is NOT the same beer and it is not good!!!
3.5Bottle, 375ml corked. It’s an unclear, orange beer with a small, white head. Cellar and some fruityness and piney hints on the nose. Some white sugar and a vinous touch too. Pleasant flavor with bitterness, lots of wood, as well as cellar and pine cones. Some tropical fruits and a little hint of white sugar too. Medium body, semi-dry and pleasantly carbonated. Some warmth on the palate, nice carbonation level and dry. Lasting finish. Not really sure about this one. It’s good indeed, but probably a tad too woody. Wouldn’t mind drinking more of it though. 131026
3.6Bottle. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, oak, some vanilla, some grapes and some floral notes. Flavor is sweet and malty with some vinous notes, white wine, oak, vanilla and wood.Medium body, average carbonation.
3.7Bottle @ Food festival 13. Sur og tydelig smag af vinfad. Nice beer! Will try and taste this one again.
3.3Bottle at Chrisso’s pre-GBBF shindig. Orange golden hazed with a small white head. Aroma is parfummed, bready wheat malt. Some spice. Highly carbonated some chalk. Fruity berry.
3.4Bottle: Thanks Papsø: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Medium to bigger sized ashy airy off white foamy head on top of a hazy yellow colored beer.
Aromas of white wine, barley malts, oatmeal, honey, meal, meat, hay, cream, some wood, grapes and a hint of liquor tones.
Flavours of honey, oatmeal, cream, white wine, grapes, wood, dusty fruit, some hops, grains, a strange bitterness and hints of alcohol, hay, chalk and liquor.
Aftertaste is mealy, warmth, grains, some honey, hint of bitters and peach and some warmth.
Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium to lightly fuller body and a creamy texture.
To much grains and oatmeal... Nice white wine tones but all by all it’s quite unbalanced.
