2.8Cherry red - some orange in colour, long lasting large slightly pickish head, excellent lacing. The aroma is of cherries, grains and cereal, some nuts. The flavour is moderately sweet, some alcohol, light cherries, candyish, some nuts. Sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, sweet, some tang.
Very weird stuff. Its hard not to like a Mikkeller beer but if there is one this is it.
375ml bottle for Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, New York.
Opened on May 15, 2011.
No date.
3.2375 ml bottle. Slightly hazy orange body with a fast disappearing off-white/pale pink head. Aroma has burnt sugar, hint of almond and some cherry. Flavor is sweet, some malt, bitter and hint of cherry. Quite different from any fruit beer or any other beer flavor actually, but in fact not extreme at all, quite pleasant actually.
3.4Bottle thanks to bu11zeye.
Deep red pour with some rosy head. Aromas of grain, almond, and cherry. Lots of cherry flavor as well with some nuttiness.
3.2Bottle. Red golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is sugary, cherry stone, fruit. Flavour is sweet, sugar, malt, cherry stone fruit. Weird beer..
4.0Ris a la M’Ale poured a pretty sunset orange and red with a copious, creamy head that lingered for the duration, lots of tiny bubbles that dissipated quickly into the head. Alcohol and stone fruit esthers pulled the just detectable tart cherry, light vanilla flavors across the palette. Surprisingly light considering the head and the alcohol presence. Overall a very pleasant beer that is reminiscent of a lambic minus the unpredictability of that style.
3.1375mL bottle. Poured clear, reddish-orange (more on the orange side) with a dense off-white head.. looked good. The aroma picked up dry cherry dust, vanilla, and oaky notes over a soft malty base.. came across surprisingly sweet.. not unpleasant, but not what I was looking for. The flavor found sweet vanilla-covered cherries over rice and lesser bready notes.. some nutty accents (mostly husk).. lightly tart on the finish with powderized cherry skins, rice, and sweeter cherry meat. Medium-bodied and very well carbonated on the palate.. OK feel and flow.. I wanted more tart and less sweet, but that wasn’t the case.
3.5Bottle from Nina’s. Pours a light red colour with a decent pink head. Aroma of coconut, vanilla, cherry, marzipan and yeast. Similar flavours of vanilla, cherry, lemon and a musty yeast character also. Moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Interesting.

2.5Parfymaktig doft.
Smaken är tunn och söt annars tycker jag inte det smaker så mycket
3.0Bottle.
Reddish amber with a small, fluffy white head. Sweet aroma with cherries, toffee, perfume and malt. Taste of cherries, some wood and almonds. Light mouth feel and medium carbonation. Drinkable but a very special beer indeed.

3.0(375ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) cloudy cherry color with soapy/creamy pink head. Nose of grain, cherry, and toasty. Taste of mild tartness, herbal, currants, nutty and an oily body.
3.9Aroma is fruity and mildly nutty. The flavor is fruity, more of a general fruitiness than relying heavily on the cherries, while the flavor is rounded out by yeast and a slight effervescence. Overall it was pretty good.
4.0Bottled
Despite the high scores this beer was somehow a little bit of a letdown. I understand why it had such a high price tag but much like other Mikkeller beers it sets the bar extremely high. Excluding the value this is an excellent beer. Factor in price and it slips just below expectations.
Aroma / Appearance - The almond red body shined like the LED lights in a traffic signal. Bubbly carbonation rises to the surface and breathes life into the ebony head. Almond, cherries dried and forgotten in the back of a closet, and a semi-dry feeling create a texture which is less sour than I imagined it would be.
Flavor / Palate - A mildly sour mix of almonds, ripe cherries, and brett like dryness cling to the tongue and throat. Sticking in the back like watery syrup the result is pleasant. I can’t find any flaws but at over a dollar an ounce I can’t feel help but feel it wasn’t as good as it could have been. Even so if you have the money in your budget you will probably enjoy it.
3.3Bottle.Pours light amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of fruitiness, cherries, malt and sugar.Flavor is sweet and fruity with some cherries and malt.Medium body, average carbonation.
3.1Bottle, 375cl corked. It pours a lightly hazy body, lightly reddish dark golden body and a small, off-white head. At first the aroma reminded me of rice cream with cherry sauce, but the rice cream disappears rather quickly. Almondss, sugar and a sugary touch. The flavor is sourish, not much but sourish, with some cherries and almond. Sugary hints. Medium to full body. Cherry sauce in the end. A strange one indeed, but quite nice anyway. 110908
3.5Sampled at Kerstbierfestival Essen, Belgium 2010. Reddish colored beer. Fruity smell. Taste fruity as well, some cherries I think. A bit thin texture. Overall decent, but a bit weird I´d say.
3.5The beer pours hazy with a sort of less than awesome rust color. The head is of a medium size and the lacing is attractive but fairly sparse. The aroma is corky & earthy with some nuttiness and in descript fruitiness. The flavor is nicely tart and fruity without displaying a whole lot of specific cherry flavor. The beer is noticeably hoppy with a mild bitterness that never really lets go. The beer is nutty enough in the flavor but again not really nutty in a specific "almond" kind of way. I must say that I was surprised to see that this was an 8%abv beer, it was entirely too easy to drink with no noticeable alcohol notes.
This is perfectly enjoyable beer, I think it gets a slightly unfair shakedown for not being slap you across the face bold while holding a Mikkeller label.... but that’s just like my opinion.... man.
3.0Bottle at home. Pours a clear red-orange with a pinkish head. Quite dry with a slight sourness, lots of malt aromas and hints of cherries. Medium to full bodied. Medium to high carbonation. Dry finish with hints of berries.
3.2I am sure its real cherry. Pink lace and head and pink lace is the outstanding appearance characteristic. A little sourness and lots of maltiness. The cherry is overwhelmed by smelling and tasting by its malting.
Jon’s bottle.Ok drinakbility, bit what I can expect from a cherry beer is not delivered.
2.911/26/10.
pink color... pale. topped by a quickly disappearing spotty white head.
very mead-like aroma... honey, flowers, vanilla, earth and cherries?/fruitiness.
the flavor is the same though it feels like it is missing something.
carbonation is nil and the texture in the thin body has a little grittiness in it. 5/3/5/2/13
3.0The beer pours a pinkish-orange color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the cherries with a little bit of toffee mixed in. The aroma has some grain notes as well as some almond and cherry aspects. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not sure what Mikkeller was trying to do with this beer, but this is not up to their usual standards.
2.9Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a reddish amber color with a medium sized pinkish head. The aroma, which was weak overall, had some acidic tartness, hints of cherry and bready malts. The flavor had light tart cherry, bread, hints of wood, but like the nose was muted at best. I would have to classify this as a disappointment.
2.7375 ml corked and caged green bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lating pinkish amber head. Aromas of bread, almonds and a hint of cherry. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread,m almonds and a hint of cherry with a smooth finish. Not a bad beer just boring, probably my lowest Mikkeller rating.
3.0Bottle. Pours hazy dark reddish color with an average frothy off-white head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Light to moderate tart fruit aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium fruit flavor with a medium sweet finish of an average duration. Not my style.
4.0375ml corked bottle split with Ann. Murky, unflitered, thick cherry red color. Creamy, reddish off-white head. Very mellow, soft aroma...some cherry, vanilla. Quite a delicious treat of a beer, very fluffy and easy on the palate. The alcohol complements the fruit tones, and is very well incorporated. Not really tart, more of a subtle, sweet fruity tone. Slight fruitcake action. The almond smooths everything out. An excellent, original creation.
3.0This curious looking paper wrapped bottle caught my attention enough to make its way home with me.
Pours a hazy dark red bordering on brown with a huge fluffy and bubbly white head with a pinkish tinge. Smells of tart cherries and lightly sweet malt. Some cough medicine aroma and a touch of alcohol in there just to round it all out. Taste is sweet and tart, I mostly pick up the tart cherries and some darker crystal malt sweetness. Finish is kind of dry but leaves a long lingering syrupy sweetness on the palette. Medium high level of carbonation makes the mouthfeel bubbly with lots of sticky syrup. Medium body. Meh! I really wanted to like this one cherries and almond sound like a great combo in a brown beer base. Sadly this one while not offensive just isn’t all that exciting. At 9 dollars for roughly 12 ounces of beer this is one and done.
2.9On draught @ The Olympic Tavern. Pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. Aroma of cherries, nuts and yeast. Fairly sour flavor, almost wine-like, thin body...meh. I expected better from Mikkeller.
3.1Bottle courtesy Mora2000. Cloudy pinkish orange color with a white ring of head. Aroma is watery and grainy. Faint. Flavor is slightly sweet with a slight finish of sour cherry.
