3.7 En sød og portvinsagtig juleøl. En ganske fin juleøl, men den søde smag bliver hurtigt for meget.
3.3 Sweet, but not to heavy. Frutie and creamy. Notes of nuts, caramel and other winter ingredients
3.0 This beer is characterized by its sweet and sugary taste. It may be a bit to heavy
3.1 Bottle from basement. Very sweet malts and syrup, licorice, dried fruits. Dark brown w tiny beige head and laces. Heavy malts, (too) sweet.
3.3 After three years in the basement this beer seems to have lost a bit of edge. The sweetness and malt unless are taking over a bit too much. Candy beer
3.5 Er alt det som To Øl Snowball Saison ikke vil være (drukket umiddelbart inden denne øl). Det er ok, men Snebolden er nu at foretrække...
3.8 Bottle on 02/05/2011 Clear reddish brown body with a small creamy light brown head Sweet spice fruit molasses aroma Sweet fruit, spice, caramel flavor Medium body with mod high carb
4.0 Ett fylligt, kryddigt och lagom sött julöl med en god och tydlig eftersmak.

3.7 75 cl bottle. Originally rated on 20101112. Pours dark brown color with a small head. Aroma of ripe fruits, caramel malts, mild hops, some licorice notes and yeast, faint spice notes too. Flavor of spices, licorice, ripe fruits and caramel malts. Nice.
3.9 Vuoden verran kaapissa kypsytelty versio.
3.6 Dark mahogany pour with a khaki head. Nose is gingerbread, dark chocolate, and roasted malt. A bit of ash, nutmeg, licorice, dark fruit, and maybe some coffee. Nice gingerbread flavor to this beer, too. Dark fruits and roasted malts, chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon, licorice, ash, and burnt sugar are also notable.
3.6 75 cl corked bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with a tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, spices, dark fruits, and orange peel. Flavour is spices, dark fruits, orange peel, and caramel – with some warming alcohol as well.
3.9 Looks just like the previous vintages I have had, dark brown, light foam head. I recently read a description of this beer as OSA on steroids and that sounds appropriate. This seems to have a similar gumminess to it, black licorice ,brown sugar, tastes good and really fits the season. The label is great too. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-31-2010 03:17:40
3.9 Bottle I poured last Christmas Eve, dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is belgian spice with some caramel malts and a little cocoa. Taste is caramel, dark fruit, orange peel, spice, and yeast. Silky texture. Very tasty and enjoyable.
3.8 Highly drinkable spiced belgian brown ale. Really rich and nutty with medium sweetness and a crisp spiced and dry finish. Malts are fantastic and complex with tons of flavor nuiances. Great work.
3.9 This is great. I love Belgian brews but this isn’t overly sweet which Is great. Spices coming through slightly
3.7 75 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 12.11.2010 Aroma has spices, some ripe fruits and plums. Flavour is spicy with ripe fruits, some licorice and raisins. Feels a bit too sharp with the spices and also a bit too sweet. I wonder if aging would do good for this.
4.1 750ml bottle, shared by and with FatPhil & Anna. Dark brown almost black color. Small beige head appears only to disappear quickly (surprisingly it doesn’t disturb me). Raisins, dark fruits, plums, very faint coffee beans and caramel in aroma. Brown sugar, caramel, raisins, plums in flavor. Mild carbonation and somewhat spicy. Very well balanced beer.
3.7 750ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki) - shared with Marduk - congrats on the 500! On pouring, loads of raisins and some prunes. In the glass it’s mellower, gently spiced at first, but some of the dark fruits come out a little too. For the strength, it’s remarkably free from the usual signs, it’s not sugary or hot, almost refreshing in the mouth. The carbonation helps lighten things. Retronasals are full and estery, and with a nice dark roast too. Taste is gently spicy, and richly roasty, just a touch sweet, in part from caramel, in part from spice. Hard to identify the spice, with the alcohol there’s a little bit of clove numbness, and some bergamot. A really good sipper, but you do like to take a ful mouthful of it each time. Has really benefitted from the 18 months of additional ageing. I like the rich roast that pops through in the finish, I would have liked more of that all along. Very solid and tasty beer.
3.6 Pours like cola and looks like it. Great Belgium aroma with a hint of cocoa and greats ton of spices. Interesting feel on the palate. Slightly heavy and lively.
3.4 Bottle. Pours solid black with a tan head. Aroma is floral, some booze, soap and perfume. Flavour the same with roasted malts, toffee and some coffee. Medium bodied, roasted, aroma does not reflect flavours.
3.7 Bottle. Dark brown pour, light tan head. Dark fruit, plum, brown sugar, and Christmas spices. Pretty nice christmasy beer. Moderately spice.
3.9 Hazed brown, frothy tan head. Aroma of molasses, nutmeg, some citrus. Taste of dark fruit, molasses, oak, tobacco. Really nicely mellowed.
3.9 Pours dark brown with a beige head that fades slightly but lasts. Aroma is caramel, dark fruit, some chocolate, and some spice. Taste is caramel, dates, some orange peel, spice, and yeast. Silky texture. Alcohol is slightly noticeable.
4.3 Già al naso i sentori di malto, caramello e cioccolata fanno intuire di essere davanti ad un grandissima birra. Al palato sorprende l’equilibrio: nulla è invadente e fuori posto lasciando con una sorprendente nota luppolata. Ottima
4.8 THOUGHTS: Very nice. Seemed to have aged well. Seemed a little more Christmasy than most years More spices and maybe some orange peel. Hid alcohol fairly well. TECHNICAL: Bottle.Poured a dark, reddish brown with red highlights and an average, beige or tan head that kept a nice sheet and left excellent lacing that nearly completely coated the glass. The aroma had moderate roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, chocolate syrup and spiced cake; hints of coffee; moderate spicy yeast; toffee; brown sugar; spice cookies; orange peel and Christmas spices. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, slightly acidic and slightly bitter; while the finish was light to mod sweet, light to mod bitter and lightly acidic with a fairly long duration. there was chocolate syrup, dark candy sugar, spicy Belgian yeast, holiday spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, and other spices, spiced Christmas cookies, fruit cake, orange peel, roasted malt, citrus fruit, a little lime, dark chocolate, toffee, caramel and hot cocoa. All ever so slightly watered down. The medium to full body was slightly dry and then rather dry with soft carbonation and a chalky and lightly alcoholic and finish.
3.5 Bottle at Camp Beer IX. Pours a dark amber with a small off white head that leaves sticky lacing. The aroma is smokey malt. Medium mouthfeel with a vanilla and chocolate bitter finish. A very good Belgian strong ale from Mikkeller.
3.8 750mL bottle, split 4 ways, pours deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a medium beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, soap, caramel and turpentine. Flavour of brown sugar, citrus, turpentine, burnt caramel and booze. Complex and well-balanced, despite the acetonic notes. Very enjoyable.
3.6 Pours pitch black with a rich creamy brown head leavin lace. Aroma is smokey, roasted malty, some fruityness, spicy and dark fruits. Flavor is malty, roasted, cumin, bready, sweet, smokey. Finishes bitter malty with a slight sweet touch.
