3.6Thanks to djoeye for sharing a 330ml bottle, 9.1 % abv. Pours a dense fawn-coloured head. Opaque red-brown coloured body. Inviting aromas of brown malts and herbal hops. Semi-sweet flavours of brown and black malts, caramel, coffee, chocolate, added by a touch of cinnamon and followed by leafy hops to the ending. Well bodied. Peasant on the swallow (Tromsø 22.01.2015).
3.5Clear red brown beer, beige top. Aroma; caramel, milk, and maybe Mikkeller lost his christmas fruit cake into here. Taste; hops, milk, spices and more spices, cinnamon, apple, chocolate, leaves - good body, rich - and finish is quite dark with leaves and chocolate into it. Drink a fruit cake.

3.8Aroma of spices, pine tree, fruits, malt. Nice Christmas ale. Tastier than Corsendonk and ingredients are blended nicer together than the Mad Elf. Clean finish, malts, slight roast and spices. More tree.

Aroma is a bit medicine-like with licorice, coffee and some alcohol. Flavour has licorice, coffee, chocolate and mellow spicy tones. Finishes with warming alcohol. Quite good.
3.8Black color with small beige head. Aroma is coffee like in a nice imperial stout, but also spicy yeasts like in a Belgian Strong. Taste is fresh and rich, mostly coffee and spices as well. Rather dry, but boozy towards the end. Very pleasing. Rich, but still not overwhelming.
3.6Bottle shared at brew dog Bologna. Pours dark brown with creamy head. Rich aroma of sweet yeasts an caramel. Sweetness also in the taste: caramelized malts and chocolate. Ends with bitterness of coffee and alcohol. Complex and interesting, but not easy drinkable.

4.0750 from Wegman’s Collegeville. Pours hazy chestnut with tan head. Nose was caramel malt, hops, maple, figgy fruit. Tasted complex, dense on the palate, with caramel malt, big hops, fig, molasses, X-mas spices, and a dense palate heft that finishes complex and enjoyable.
3.9Capped 750 from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of moderate treacle, candi, and some sort of near noble hop. Full bodied. Flavor is treacle, chocolate, and brown sugar over and above the treacle. Hop? Sure, but what? Maybe a bit of Belgian yeast/spice, but not banana for me. It’s a monster of flavor, but hard to decipher. Great drink.
3.6Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours cola with cream head. Taste is spices with some roasted malts. Get some coffee
3.8Bottle shared by my friend John. Pours near black with a modest tan head and a treacle and candy flavor. There is a hearty dark malt flavor with some candi sugar and a dry bitter finish.
3.575 cl. bottle (10.9 % alc.) poured in to a Trappist glass, leftovers from last Christmas. My first Christmas themed beer of this season. Dark brown colour with a reddish tinge and a dense, tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, chocolate, toast, liquorice, dark, dried fruits, candid sugar and spices. Somewhat alcohol dense. Taste is sweet. Full body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes fruity with toasted notes, spices and alcohol. A bit to much alcohol to be really great. Nice winter warmer. However, lacks a bit bodily compared to some of the rich Belgian Christmas beers.
3.0Söt väldigt god smak, doft av god choklad och karamell. Den höga alkoholhalten är personligen en betygssänkare. Flaska från Systembolaget.

Body feels quite light for the abv, but no noticeable alcohol except for some warmth in the finish. Goes down pretty easy and has a good balance between sweet and bitter. Very pleasant winter brew.
