3.4 On tap at Pivo & Burger Fest Ljubljana. Dark golden coloured, small off-white head, citrusy fruity jam like nose. Sweet malty, citrusy fruity, peachy, mild alcoholic and some herbal notes with strong hop bitterness in the finish and aftertaste.
3.8 Pours haze orange like color, with yellowish foamy head. Visually low carbonation with slow small up rising bubbles. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, and orange peel. Flavor with malty backbone and fruity, hoppy background, with notes of grapefruit, pine. Body is sticky medium, carbonation is soft.
3.6 Pours deep hazy amber with a big, creamy, yellowish head. Great duration. Aroma has fine hops, apricot, grapefruit, light red apple zest. Some crisp malts. Medium carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour is elegantly hoppy, grapefruit, light piney, some apricot. Fine malty balance. Long, lovely, lingering bitterness.
3.8 Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a fairly clear copper with a nice offwhite head that leaves good lacing and hangs around throughout. Pine resin, caramel, grapefruit on the nose with the caramel becoming more pronounced toward the end. Taste is more of the same. Nice bitter and slightly peppery finish with great balance. Solid IPA.
3.9 Bottle. Copper / amber with a big rich head. Resinous aroma, spicy. Spicy, bitter grapefruit in the mouth with some caramel. High carbonation. Oily resinous bitter finish. Solid IPA.
3.6 33 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy amber with a white head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma and flavour are caramel, grapefruit and pine - with a bitter finish.
3.5 Frischer, intensiv hopfig bitterer Antrunk, Zitrusnoten, etwas grasig-holzig. Passende Herbe, erst mild, später kostet mittelstark. Sehr grasig, rund. Langer hopfiger Nachgeschmack. 10/12/11/11/9/11
4.0 330 ml bottle. Hazy orange-amber color with white foam. Aroma: strong citrus, pine needles, fruits and something spicy. Taste with a strong carbonation, malty body, citrus, grapefruit, mango and pine needles.
4.5 hazy orange to amber colour, huge slightly yellowish off-white head; aroma of citrusy-grapefruity-piney notes with hints of peach (?); taste is the same with surprisingly intensive caramel notes (which of course does not overwhelm the hoppyness at all); amazing IPA
3.7 Pours a clear caramel yellow with a noticeably large white head which lingers. Aroma is piney and earthy hops with a slightly floral presence. Taste is citrus bitter, earthy and grapefruit citrus vibes. Medium-full bodied.
3.7 Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; clear amber pour with a big frothy off white head, light citrus aroma, taste has biscuity malts, citrus, hint of grapefruit, some spicy background, easy drinking.
3.2 Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Hazy amber. Messy, sticky, lasting, white head. Pithy, pink grapefruit. Some strawberry. Touch of spice. Ginger biscuit, maybe. Taste is fruity bitter. Light, spicy dry. Palate has a chew on it. Finishes spicy bitter. Expected more punchy hop.
3.9 Shared bottle. Pours is cloudy orange with thick persistent white head. Aroma of sweet tropical fruits, mango, red orange peel, light pineapple, grapefruit. Taste is bitter. citric, grapefruit, orange, light fruity sweet. Medium to full body, creamy texture, flat carbonation.
3.5 Draft at Mikkeller and Friends in Reykjavik The ale poured cloudy amber color with small head and lacing. Some grapefruit on the nose. The full body ale had average carbonation. There was sour taste as well as grapefruit and a hint of pine resin. Bitterness rolls into a clean, dry finish for a pleasantly quaffable brew.
3.5 On tap at Mikkeller Bar Stockholm. A bit hazy amber with a small white head. Fresh and hoppy with grapefruit, some pineapple and hay. The finish was on the dry side and rather bitter. A descent beer.
3.9 Tap at mikkeller bar. Unclear Amber body with a small head. Fruit, hops, citrus, grapefruit. Dry and crisp.
4.0 Tap@Fermentoren, Copenhagen - hazy amber orange pour with medium white head. Aroma and taste holds a plethora of citrus and tropical fruits, some grassy, floral and piney hop notes, nice hop resin and hop spice bite towards the bitter finish. Gorgeous.
3.4 Draught. Light hazy amber liquid with medium white head. Aroma of citrus, earth, grain, bread and biscuit. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of citrus, earth and grain. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Decent.
3.8 Tap @ Mikkeller Stockholm. Dark orange brown, reasonable head. Resin grain aroma. Glue grapefruit & tropical fruit flavour. Bitter grapefruit aftertaste. Solid IPA.
3.8 Tap at C4. Pours amber, orange with an off-white head. Bitter fruity taste of hops, pale malts, notes of caramel. Mild carbonation. Nice lingerin bitter finish.
3.8 Bottle at home. Hazy orange pour, creamy white head. Aroma of fruity hops, floral, citrus and slightly sweaty. Flavor is quite bitter, fruity and with a hint of caramel. Nice body, clean and smooth.
3.4 Not as intense as the other hops, but this one had a good aroma and taste of pines and light citrus. Amber pour, with a medium head, good lacing. Quite enjoyed it.
3.5 Aroma has pear, mascarpone. Pours hazy amber, minimal head, some lacing. Taste has spruce, heavy bitterness, no sweetness. Medium body, medium carbonation, bitter finish.
3.8 Not a very complex ipa, but with just one hop is enjoyable. Lot of tropical and ripe fruity notes and a spicy touch.
Kompozycja smakowa tworzy pijalne, wytrawne piwo.
3.4 "Citrus peel and a little spice seem to be the dominant players in this particular single Hopper from Mikkeller. I like it. Probably middle if the road or so for the series, but nice."
2.9 Interesting hop aroma - enjoying trying the single hop beers. Chinook has more of a pine and perfume profile than the citrus that I love. Decent IPA, watery mouthfeel and I can see why Chinook is most often paired with other hops and not usually featured solo.
4.5 It's delicious of course. It's Mikkeller it's chinook how do you think this is going to go? Yes it's earthy warm cinnamon without the cinnamon flavor. Yes it can be the only beer you drink. But it won't.
