2.9Warm golden colour, white head. Quite wild aroma, cookie dough, overripe fruit, fruit yoghurt. Strawberry flavour, fermenting strawberry, light astringent. Finish strawberry, overripe fruits. Was very curious to this one (I love wild strawberries), but seems like they might not work too brilliantly with yeast.
(From 37.5cL bottle shared @ Procrastinated SpontanGent Tasting. Thanks for the bottles tderoeck!!)
4.0Orange, thin lasting white head, good lace.
Aroma of barnyard, leather, markers, fruity sweetness.
Flavour is quite acidic and tart, some fruit sweetness.
Dry mouthfeel, light body, high carbonation.
Finishes long, acidic.
Pretty nice, so tart. Very enjoyable.
3.6Pours hazy orange with medium white head. Aroma of light wild strawberries, almond icing. Taste is medium fruit and berry tart, smooth sweet finish. Light, crisp body with average carbonation.
3.8Pours amber low head
Aromas of sour grapes, hints of wild strawberries, cassis branches
Taste has sour grapes, sweet malts, garden branch
3.1Very sour, bitter and tart. Lots of sharpness from the hops. Doesn’t have the strongest taste of strawberry (in comparison with the kriek and framboos) but it’s not bad. Couldn’t have more than one. Intense taste.
3.59/28/2014. From bottle. Murky browish orange with a white head. Funky, yeasty aromas with a faint hints of strawberries. Tart and sour, medium carbonation.
3.5"A little more sour and a little less fruit than the kriek. Redish gold. Big funky vinegar aroma and flavor. Dry and lacking sweetness, and the strawberry takes a backseat to the tang. Not bad, but a little pricey for just a "good" beer. One timer."
3.0Leicht trübes orangegoldenes Bier mit wenig weißem Schaum. Geruch leicht fruchtig, holzig. Geschmack leicht fruchtig, holzig, pelzig, schwach.
2.2Bitterer Beginn, der die Fruchtnoten überdeckt. Die Erdbeeren sind deutlich erkennbar, das Bier ist adstringent. Zum Ende hin nur noch bitter, nicht wirklich gut. 10/7/6/7/7/7
3.8Bottle: Murky, bruised orange body with a natural, slightly chunky & mildly foamy head; slow to settle, lasting as a film & collar. Aroma jumps from the bottle as soon as the cap is merely cracked. Earthy, unripe strawberries, more sweet than sour with a mild Pez candy essence to them. Moderate funkiness, critter laden wood, musty cellar, just a hint of winy tartness, & some faint, mushroom-like loaminess. Time/warmth softens the funk & strengthens the sweetness of the strawberry. The flavor is much more acidic & vinous. Sharply tart notes like a Sauvignon Blanc, woody tannins, ripping dryness, lightly acetic lemon, & the softening sweetness of the funky strawberries in the background. Light mineral essence with some underripe stone fruit skins & lactic sourness in the finish. Faint sulfuric note. Funk is toned down, but there’s still some detritus & musty earth-funk in the back-end. Bright, tart, exceedingly dry, drilling the gumline back with each sip. Surprised the ratings are relatively low, I thought this was damn good.
4.4Bottle from Mogwai in Helsingborg. Smell is classics lambic of wheat and herbs. It pours amber with a hazy colour and a small white head. A fresh taste of strawberries and wheat. A nice finish whit the strawberries and some hay still present. Overall a really good beer.
2.1Pretty reddish pale color with minimal head. Others are right about this having some river or cement in the flavor and aroma. Pretty tart and appropriately lambic-ey, but the off flavors ruin it and linger through the finish. There is a faded trace of strawberry.
1.224/V/14 - 37.5cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ Procrastinated Spontan Gent Tasting - BB: 0?/V/21 (2014-551)
Clear pale orange beer, big fizzy aery off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very dirty, chemical, rubbery, rotting strawberries, unpleasant. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: yuck! Rotten fruits, dirty, unpleasant, very sour, I’ll just stop here, ok? This is a total drain pour...
2.3Bottle:
Pours cloudy, orange-amber with a short, foamy tan head.
Strawberry soap aroma.
Taste is dried strawberry, vinegar....
I get the same rubber/plastic flavours as well as previous raters....
Not very enjoyable.
3.1Bottle @ Steve_0’s palace. Pours a murky orange appearance with an off white head. Bright strawberry, wild berry, slight rubber, twangy nose. Pretty fucken juicy. Chewy plastic, rubber flavor. Some good aspects but boy, the rubber is annoying. Disappointing.
3.4Pour out of 375 mL bottle, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of sour strawberry, tart fruit into a bit of vanilla, oak, slight rubbery, plastic notes, nice seedy, earthy notes as well. Taste is a mix of sour fruit, slight strawberry and earth, slight plastic into more strawberry, finishing sweet, slightly dry.
2.7Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Aaron. Thanks man! Pour is hazy orange with a small white head and good lacing. Rubbery, biscuity, band-aid, lemony, vanilla, lactic, red berries, and oak in the aroma. Taste is rubber cement, glue, concrete, grassy, skunky, strawberry, ginger, and lactic acid with a big sour finish. Light body with medium carbonation. Definitely the worst of the series.
2.5hazy gold amber, thin white head, can’t see any fruit. Husky nose, moderate tangy strawberry, considerable sweetness and plastic. Heavy strawberry and plastic up front, tons of rubber, light acids brighter finish but a mess.
2.8Very sour, finishes faintly sweet. Wild carbon, geavy aroma of berries. Some malt also to be noted.
4.1375ml bottle pours a hazy orange with thick white head. Nose has a lot of funk, berry, hay, grass, band aid. Flavor is more funk and jam, berry, band aid, light acid, light cheese. Really nice.
3.9Pours a hazy golden orange from the bottle with dissipating white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma is funky sourness and tannic wood with slight sweet fruitiness underneath. Taste is less funky and more sweet, light strawberry notes with breadiness. Bubbly carbonation, refreshing and light. Very nice, but wanted a but more.
3.4Aroma: Dry sulphur aromaTaste: Dry beer with sour finish, strawberry notes surprisingly light.19th Appearance: gold/amber body with white head.
3.9375 ml bottle
I’ve not yet tried any of these lambics from Mikkeller but it looks like another solid experiment. Chances are I will only cherry pick a couple because of the price but based on this sample none should be disappointing.
Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy orange base has wisps of ivory head that sit lazily in the glass. The fruity feel is like a sample sized pour of vinegary strawberry shortcake. The lactic notes are balanced enough to not feel like a one trick pony.
Flavor / Palate - Strawberries and cream taste like a liquid dessert. Vinegar and cool whip scour the palate clean. The experience is enjoyable from start to finish although not so awesome that I want to hurry to the Louisville Beer Store and get the whole series. However one or two along the way would be a nice way to keep in touch with what Mikkeller is up to these days.
3.5[10/6/13] Bottle at CASK Pub & Kitchen in London. Hazy orange with a beige head. Very nice aroma of oak, lemon, some barnyard and a bit of strawberries. Sour flavor, funky and oaky, with some lemon and strawberry notes. Some citric bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied. Good.
3.6Poured from the bottle. Aroma is tart. Taste is tart, very mild strawberry. Might not know its there. Finish is very dry. Overall pretty tasty.
3.412.7 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a hazy copper with a thinner white head of foam. Aroma is a funky, musty, earthy tartness. The taste is must and earthy with some fruity notes coming through. Couldn’t necessarily tell if it was strawberry had I drank this blind, but the flavor profile is simar. Dry and somewhat floral finish.

Hazy gold - amber beer, tidy white head. Light dry palate. Medium dry sourness and dry lactose. Just a trace of strawberry. Finishes semi dry and winey sour. Okay if you like that sort of thing but for me this was too dry and one of the weaker members of the spontanclan!
3.2Bottle. Pours dark gold with a thin quickly dissipating white head. Aroma of fruit and lots of yeast. Taste of overpowering yeast with a hint of strawberries.
3.6Belmont bottle. We agree to disagree: I swear I taste tons of frozen strawberries and yeast but Matt swears he just tastes straight lambic with a hint of fruit in the finish. Either way, we finished the bottle.
3.5Bottle sample at local tasting. Poured amber color with an average fizzy white head that lasted with fair lacing. Good tart strawberry & tannic woody aroma. Medium body with tingly texture and flat carbonation. Moderate tart&sweet fruity flavor with a solid tart fruit and small alcohol finish of moderate to long duration. Good beer for style.
