3.3 Bottled at Sorbon. Slightly hazy golden. Large white head. Dry and slightly floury aroma. Leather, barnyard and raspberries in the flavour. Light to medium bitterness.
2.9 Thanks to my brother for sending this bottle my way. The beer pours a golden-orange color with a white head. The aroma is pilsener malt with some grassy and earthy hops. The flavor is more of the pilsener malt with some dirt mixed in. There is something a little off-putting about the flavor, I just can’t figure out exactly what it is. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Glad I got to try it, but not one of my favorite Mikkeller beers.
3.4 Golden colored brew. Aroma has sweetness and hops, Flavor has bready malts and some hop bitterness. Ok.
3.2 Pours turbid dull gold w huge 4-finger white head. Nose is pale malt Saaz hops, mild peppery, marrmaladey fruit. Tastes crispo., with bitter hops, fruity, malty. Gets dry and floral late, with a rich, pretty complex palate.
3.5 Bottle thanks to Butters the bearded asshole. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of Euro hops and sweet pale malts. Flavor of biscuit and cara pils malts countered by a typical spicy / herbal hop bitterness. Some smoky phenols on the finish, which were odd, but worked.
3.6 11.2oz bottle as "Czech-Style Pilsner." Pours a cloudy orange colored body with a two finger-width, rocky and foamy, white head that collapses slowly and leaves lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is sweeter pale malts with some grainy honey. A good amount of florals and tropical fruits with some citrus. Grassy and bready. Flavor caught me a bit off guard at first. Fairly smokey, which I was not expecting. Behind that is some grass and hay with a good amount of floral hops. Somewhat peaty with a pale malt sweetness and a touch of grainy honey. Finishes dry and lightly bittered with some mineral qualities while leaving a fairly lengthy aftertaste. Light to medium bodied with a moderate, soft carbonation. Overall, an interesting beer. I was not expecting the smoke flavor, but it turned out okay. Soft, smooth, well balanced, and easy drinking. This was pretty nice.
3.0 Hm. Poured with a smallish white head and a little lace. Color is a hazy/cloudy amber. Aroma is malt beery grain grass yeast minerals. Flavor is like aroma but with one flavor that I can’t place really standing out - not really a beer flavor, something odd.... Body and carbonation are ok. Finish is like flavor and medium in length. Proly wouldn’t get again, except to see if that odd flavor is still there and to figure out what it is.
3.3 Pours a slightly hazy straw-gold with a big chunky head. Aromas of lemon and chimney ash. Nice medium mouthfeel with good yeast. Crisp clear taste with spicy czech hops throughout. Some smoke and roast on the finish.
3.2 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The smell is malts, light floral, grains, and peat. The taste is light, malts, peat, hops, and floral. The look is golden in color and has a light white head.
3.3 golden piss color with a slight orange. Aroma is sweet honey and hops while flavor is extremely smoky but clean. It feels like you have a mouthful of smoke that’s clean but still smoke. Oh, and beer. Sampled at "Guess who’s back..."
3.3 Sampled at the Guess Who’s Back tasting. hazy yellow pour with white head. cheese. lemon citrus, and tons of peaty smokiness. I liked it, but not crazy awesome.
3.3 Guess Who’s Back Tasting. Most interesting element is a smokey yet washed chemical flavor that the beer has.
3.3 Pours a lacing off-white to khaki head with a golden body. Aromas of grass and some malt. Flavor is grassy hops and malt. Clean, dry finish with a smoke note.
3.8 Vibrant gold with a thick white head, heavy lacing. Nose has an strong, earthy hay element, light bitterness and some grass with only faint pale malt sweetness. Flavor is substantially sweeter, heavy biscuit with more light hay present, yet there’s also some light bitterness that keeps the beer in check and adds a nice compliment to the earthy grass elements. The sweet, pale malt flavor is accompanied by a creamy, hefty body, not as sparkling or light as hoped for though it is coherent with the flavor. Pleasant and uniquely dirty nose, but overall not as coherent between nose and taste.
3.1 (11.2oz bottle, BB 29/04/11) Pours a clear pale yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of florals, biscuit, and lemongrass. Flavor of lemon, florals, crackers, and light sulfur with mild bitterness in the finish.
3.2 Bottle: Golden, hazy, huge fluffy (off-)white head; distinctive spicy-hoppy nose with solid fruity and light malty undertones; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, soft; slightly lingering sweet-fruity and and hoppy finish with a tinge of smoke in the aftertaste. Good beer, but the hints of smoke and the ale-like fruitiness do not help very much to create a (good) Bohemian Pilsener........
2.9 355 ml bottle. Cloudy yellow body with white head. Flavour is malt, fruit and hops.
2.5 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. poured yellow with a white head. aroma was sour lemon. flavor was melted plastic with a light body and high carbonation.
3.0 (11.2oz bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours honey yellow with a film of bubbles on top. Nose of wet corn husks, garbage. Taste is nicely sweet, earth, bitter orange oils and a good creamy finish.
3.3 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. cloudy yellow with a white head. nose is appealing, light esters, hops, and fruit. very easy on the palate, flavors are hops and grain.
3.3 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a large white head and a hazy (pils?) golden body. Aroma is very hoppy and crisp with a slight apple note. Taste is grainy, bitter and delicate with possibly a hint of leather. Fizzy.
3.1 Veiled golden pour covered by a spectacular frothy white head. Malt oriented aroma complemented by a gentle flowery, spicy saaz note. Otherwise, I’m surprised by an off plastic/rubber undertone that fortunately does not get too much in the way. Besides, it’s a cerealic and bready kingdom. Rather bulky palate does not have the usual crisp brightness of a lager (ale-like consistence). More fruity notes than most, while you would not point towards precise fruits, the palate has an almost juicy character, elevated further by the weaker than average carbonation. While the hops were not very aromatic in the nose, they provide a more than fair bitterness, dominating the finish and lasting for a good minute. Most unusual pilsner and not devoid of flaws, obviously not Mikkeller’s specialty.
3.3 Bottled. Pours out in a gazy golden colour with a small creamy white head. Grassy and spicy hop aroma with touches of biscuits and white pepper. Medium-bodied crisp notes of grass, mild pepper, herbs, grains and biscuits. Medium-bitter crisp finish of grassy and spicy hops.
3.9 On tap at Spuyten Duyvil in Brooklyn. Pours golden in color with a nice white head and steady carbonation. Smells unexpectedly aggressive with grass, citrus, and hops that continue in the flavor. Hearty for a pilsener and almost nears a pale ale, really. Word.
3.7 Strange that label dosnt say anything about smoked aroma and taste. Nothing in ingridiens suggest that. After the tastesurprise, the beer gets better and better. Simple og straight. Maybee it could do with more alcohol
3.0 Bottle. Nice head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are distinct and strangely filled with smoke, but also some regular malts and hops. One of the better smoked - only its not a smoked and label says no smokemalt.
3.1 Cloudy, golden beer with medium, lasting, and good-looking white head. Aroma is quite aromatic, grass, dry malts and some fruits. Flavour is slightly stuffy, malts, some soap and drying hops in the end. Quite light to drink but still pleasant. Strange, impure feeling Pils with nice elements; contradictory, this beer belongs to worth to try -category.
3.3 Bottle. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is sweet, fruit, berries, malt. Flavour is sweet, fruit, berries, malt, hop, hint of fireplace. Medium body. Easy drinkable beer.
3.1 Pours cloudy gold with a white frothy head. Aroma is light and grassy with some hoppy zest. Taste is clean and a touch sweet, with predominant smoke and a little barnyard funk. Smokiness lends an interesting aspect to this style.
3.4 This an interesting and refreshing Pilsner. Pours cloudy gold with a thick white head. Aroma of grass hops and slightly sweet. Flavor actually have some smoke to it, which was unexpected. Slightly bitter, decent hop profile. Good beer though, enjoyable.
