3.3 Bottle 0,33l from Pivoljub beer shop in Ljubljana. Cloudy yellow liquid with big head. Herb smell, citrus peal. Taste of herbs, lemon peal, grass. Medium body and carbonation. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.4 Aroma: citrus, sweet fruits, light vanilla Taste: medium bitter, light sweet, citrus, resin, vanilla
3.2 33cl bottle. Pours hazy golden with some yeast flakes and a small fine white head. Aroma is sweet malts, grapes, citrus, hops, slightly acidic note. Taste is light with mostly citrus and some sweet fruitiness, strong final hoppy bitterness, dry finish. Light body, medium carbonation. Bland.
3.3 On tap at Salon piva 09/2015, Bratislava. Pours bit hazy golden color, white head. Aroma is orange, pear. Taste is medium bitter, hoppy, citrusy, grapefruit.
3.5 330 ml bottle.Hazy golden colour with white non stable head. Aroma of citrus fruits, spice. Taste of grapefruits, citrus fruits, light bitter aftertaste. I did not find vanilla there.
2.7 Tap. Cloudy orange color. Medium size, bubbly white head, stays. Sweet, orange peel, citrus, dirty yeast, mild vanilla in aroma. Dirty orange peel, citrus, chemical molten ice cream in taste. Orange peel and dirty yeast in aftertaste. Tingly sense of hops and citrus on tongue. Medium carbonation. Getting harsher as it warms up. Where are the vanilla beans?
2.7 Tap (Pudel, Tallinn) Served colder than I ever imagined possible. Aroma does have some vague fruity hoppiness. Palate watery and a bit fizzy and harsh. Taste is ice cold water with some fruity hop hint. Just about adequate as a hoppy pale ale, but desperately keggy. The only actual positive is that I can’t taste the alcohol. Then again, at this temperature I wouldn’t taste it in vodka either. As it warms, the aroma picks up some odd vegetal farty hint, ewwww. Maybe that’s why it’s so cold - you don’t want to taste it. Ug, taste also gets messier as it warms up to melting point, aroma even picks up dirty dishrags. Classic Kraft IPA, waste of 4.50e. Ticked. I win. Not.
3.0 Tap at Pudel. Hazy amber with smallish lacing head. The aroma is sweet of fruits, more unripe than ripe ones, but the vanilla... where’s that? Naah. Tastes more bitter than sweet, grapefruity. Very crisp in the mouth, the carbonation pretty active. Dry grapefruity bitter finish. Wouldn’t repeat, a disappointment. Seems old...
3.3 Tap. Hazy yellowish amber, small white head. Nose is grapefruit, malty-biscuity notes, something herbal. Flavor is earthy hops, lots of grapefruit, grapefruit pith bitterness in the finish with some sweet vanilla very late. Lingering grapefruit pith bitterness.
3.5 19-FEB-2016, bottle @home, from Mikkeller & Friends. Hazy, pale golden with a white, lacing head. Grape fruit, grass, not really any vanilla - until the far finish. Very bitter, medium body, dry. Nice.
3.4 Comprata in bottiglia da 33 a lo sfuso a torino. Giallo opaco bella schiuma persistente. Deboli sentori di vaniglia in una buona luppolatura. Finale enturidato.
3.2 Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellowish color. Aroma and taste are citrus and some vanilla.
3.3 Bottle from Beer Gonzo webshop, consumed at home Sunday at 7th February 2016 Hazy yolky gold colour with a white head. Served a bit cold (my fault) so any aroma is somewhat muted, it’s there but only slight. A little wheaty in the mouth, citrussy and with a soft mouthfeel, but not as good as I’d hopefully it would be. Fine. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
3.6 Orange gold, foamy head, good lace. strong citrus hop sting almost bitter smelling. Grassy. Some bready pastry. Same in taste pretty bitter grassy and citrusy and dry. Vanilla is probably there, I detect it in aroma, in taste its pretty subtle. I think oak could give it better vanilla possibly than this, but its pretty hidden under all the hops, not complaining.
3.5 on tap @ Ei8ht Ball / Bellevue KY --- Cloudy light amber color, bubbly white head cover, bands of lace. Taste is malt that is quickly joined by hops and mild carbonation. Emphasize "joined," as the two sides finish the run together. Solid, well-balanced IPA.
3.5 On tap at Cafe Sara, september 12th 2015. Hazy golden body with a nice white head. Aroma of peach and orange jam, with a soft vanilla note. Taste is piney, light sweetness, vanilla is very hidden. Bitter fruity finish. A nice ipa, though the vanilla doesn’t really do much here.
3.4 Bottle share at the WWWW beer tasting at iphonephan’s. Hazy yellow with small offwhite head. Mild citrus and floral hops, some hints of vanilla (though maybe only because I was specifically looking for it). Decent enough.
3.5 Pours a very murky yellow golden color, topped with a huge and quite stable foamy head, white color. Nice fruity nose, mild but still easy to pick up. Some citruses upfront, sweet peachy notes and tropical fruits. Maybe some vanilla notes later on, but way in the back. Solid bitterness, short bittery herbal aftertaste, later on it leaves some strong metallic feel. A decent IPA. The vanilla presence is really subtle in this one.
4.0 Bottle. Light vanilla orange malt and orange peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Sweet vanilla, orange malt, and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Nice body. This works really well.
3.5 Bottle. Aroma of citrus, floral and pine. Body is light and texture is watery. Quite high carbonation. Starts a bit sour and finish dry and bitter that linger. Vanilla is hard to detect.
3.7 330 ml single bottle from Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits - Muscatine. Slight hazy yellow appearance with a fluffy, lingering white head and thick lacing. Aroma of toasted grain, vanilla, citrus fruits, light floral notes and a hint of peppery spice. Similar flavor, moderate zesty/piney hop bitterness balanced by light malt sweetness and light vanilla. Medium body with a crisp feel and a light dry finish. Nicely balanced and easy to drink. A solid IPA overall.
3.5 Keg at FOB, Rimini. It pours a lightly hazel golden color with a large creamy white head. Aroma is a novel mix of grassy hops citrus peel vanilla beans and apple tart. Taste is medium crispy lightly grassy hoppy bitter and lightly sweet with notes of vanilla ice cream and apple crumble. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, novel
3.5 Hazy golden color with off-white head. Really hoppy on the aroma, grassy, citrusy and fresh. Taste is also hoppy and quite bitter. There is a weird note on the taste, maybe from the vanilla beans but there is definitely no evident vanilla flavor. Body is quite light and effervescent. Decent IPA overall but I couldn’t find the vanilla.
3.2 Drank with TImon at my place 7-12-2015. Okay beer, but not super nice. IPA hoppy taste is kinda neutralized by the vanilla, with makes for a mediocre beer, because the taste is a bit flat, not adding to each other.
3.8 33cl bottle, served in Shaker. Pours orange with medium white head. Smells citrusy and piney with hints of vanilla. Flavour is the same, so well balanced. It is quite similar to a Belgian hoppy beer, since the vanilla touch can even pass as yeast. Dry finish with moderate sweetness...maybe too bitter, but it’s acceptable. Mouthfeel is full, very creamy (I’ve never seen that in an IPA), carbonation is ok. Good beer.
3.0 28.11.2015, 0,33l bottle @ home: Nice bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry grassy, old leafs, citrus peel, moss, grass, hops, minerals, soil, alcohol, citrus, hints of vanilla. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, leafs, minerals, citrus peel, lawn, hops, flowers, grain, weeds, bark. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough.
3.7 Cloudy, amber colored, medium+ very creamy off white head, nice lacing and very long lasting, almost indestructible. Aroma is of caramel malt, citrus and pine hops, sweet and light vanilla. Taste is medium sweet caramalt, fruity, citrus and pine medium bitter hops and again light vanilla notes, bitterness is slightly harsh, dry. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light resin.
3.0 22nd November 2015 Hazy gold beer, big pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Dry pale malts with mildly sweet vanilla, the sweetness more than compensated by bitter floralness. Some pithy orange bitterness, touch of lemon. Dry finish. Bitter linger. Mmmm - doesn’t gel that well. Hoppin Frog and Omnipollo did this much better.
2.6 On tap at Apex, pours a cloudy bright orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out hop oils and vanilla extract upfront. Flavour is very strange and quite muddled, with earthy hops, not much vanilla and bready malt. Pretty confused and messy. Not sure what they were going for here. Inoffensive but puzzling. Seems the experiment didn’t work.
3.6 Bottle. Poured hazy amber color with average frothy white head that lasted with very good lacing. Aroma was moderate to heavy vanilla citrus. Flavor was moderate bittersweet with a vanilla bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Solid above average beer.
