3.8Bottle from McHughs. Pours clearish copper with foam white head. Lime, pine, hop resin, liquorice nose. Flavour is a lime with a caramel background. Effervescent citrus liquorice finish. Plenty of body and juicy fruit.
3.633cl bottle from mikkeller webshop I think. Color is dark gold to orange. Head is very persistent and beige-ish. Medium bitterness, light sweetness. Aroma and flavour is light chocolate, malt, caramel, hops, orange, resin, pine.
3.1Aroma: floral with a hint of licorice; Appearance: amber with fluffy white head that dissipates slowly; Taste: not very hoppy or bitter for an IPA; no bite; hoppiness replaced indirectly by licorice- very unusual; Palate: medium body with long, odd finish; Overall: not my favorite combination.
3.8Bottle. Pours golden with a thick, solid off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, licorice and a hint of orange. Very pleasant. Excellent palate, medium body, thick, softly carbonated. Flavour is sweet mostly, with clear notes of licorice and Demerara sugar. Nice.
3.86.7%ABV. IPA.
Poured out amber. 12ºSRM.
Nose is sweet ripe oranges.
Mouthfeel is soapy. There are some nice toasty flavors. Hops are bitter, citrus peel and a hint of earthy.
The finish is smooth, prolonged and sweet with hint of mint and sweet licorice, maybe with a hint of juniper.
3.5Clear, amber colored, medium creamy beige head, nice lacing and good lasting. Aroma is quite sweet and sugary, licorice, tropical fruity candy. Taste is medium+ sweet malt, caramel, sugary fruity candy, tropical fruits and some citrus, medium bitterness, lasting aftertaste. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily. Too sweet, cloying even.
3.4Draft at Gollem’s Beers and Burgers, Antwerp. Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel, and faint licorice. Taste is citrus, malt, caramel, licorice. Good balance. Interesting and unique.
3.4On tap at RCBW 2016. Slightly hazy, amber colour. High white head. Lots of fruits, gooseberries, hints of plums, citrussy notes in the aroma. Pineapple and apricots at first. Slightly citrussy, bit sweet in the middle. Slightly sweet, citrussy finish. Liqeurice in the aftertaste. Rather medium bodied, slightly sweet palate. Too sweet for me.
4.3Draft glass @ Gollem. Very hazy reddish amber, big tanned head, nice lacing. Nose is big fruity pine resin, mango, big USA hops, very fruity, licorice takes a backseat here, only small touch,… Taste is brief fruity pine & mango USA hops upfront leading into sweet bark & sweet licorice, rather malty, sugar, herbal, faint cheesy hop,… Bark & licorice aftertaste really lingers on & on, a tad too lond,… Body is malty with pine,…. Sweet herbal,… Overal this is a pretty pleasant beer, maybe tad sweet but this combination works so much better than expected. Surprisingly successful.
2.5Tap @RCBF 2016. Slightly hazy amber color. Small size, bubbly head, stays. Sweet, fruity, citrus and very faint licorice in aroma. Citrusy, fruity, sweet and tiny hint of licorice in taste. Base beer is just some random brew and not enough licorice!
3.9Hazy amber with good off white head.Slightly sweet aroma with spicy notes. Good bitterness with medium fruity sourness and sweetness, lakrits notes. Very strong bitterness comes later and stays in my aftertaste.
3.5Commissioned IPA spiced with liquorish... At Gollem Antwerp. Complexely cobweb-lacing, frothy, snow white, thick head, cloudy orangey copper colour with bronze hue. Weird aroma through which the liquorish pierces, very strongly reminiscent of sweet cicely plants and even with a somewhat menthol-like effect, amidst more expected impressions of pink grapefruit, biscuit, moldy nut shells, wet leather. Fruity onset, dried apricot, green banana, peach, some wry grape peel too, softish carbo, sourish redcurrant hint, nutty middle with an oily mouthfeel, bit resinous and grapefruit peel-like finish but less hop bitter than one would expect from an IPA, still aromatic though, which is then again broken by that weird liquorish flavor dominating the tail. Puzzling beer, technically correct and original in its make-up, but I am still in doubt if liquorish is a good match for the hop character of an IPA, it seems like a very strange element in an otherwise very agreeable environment.
3.3330 ml bottle. Semidark orange clour with small head off. Aroma of tropical fruits. Taste of mango, peach, grapefruits, spices, sweetness, bitter finish.
3.0Bottle from Biernavigatie, BB 15/03/18, large sample. Hazy amber color, medium frothy head. Aroma of fruity hop, citrus, bit spicy, licorice. Soft bitterness, citrussy, spicy licorice. Licorice is blended in really nice and subtle. I prefer IPAs more fruity and cant really see why you would like a licorice IPA. So, decent experiment, but nonsense combination.
3.7backlog. draft. light orange color. Aroma has some fruity notes, along with slight pine, tiny hint of liquorice root. Bitter hoppy finish with some underlaying liquorice root, very subtle and balanced.
3.5330ml. Bottle at unibar. Pours Hazy copper. Medium white head. Aroma of tropical fruits. Mango, passionfruit notes of liquorice. Taste I seasoned with tropical fruits. Aftertaste is bitter with liquorice. Maybe a bit too much liquorice, but good beer in overall
3.7Draft at mikkeller bar
Red brown color. Small head.
Aroma of fruit, hint of licorice.
Taste bitter, distinct finish of licorice. Slight sweet.
Nice balance.
4.0Cloudy, amber to orange body with a large, creamy, eggnog-coloured head with good lacing capabilities and longevity. Hoppy and strong aroma of tropical fruits (especially mango), citrus and spices. The strong flavour has a stunning liquorice/hops combination and balance. Lots of salty liquorice in the finish, without outshining the tropical fruits and citrus from the hops. Light to moderate sweet taste, moderate bitterness and a light salinity. Mid-bodied, smooth texture, rather soft carbonation. This is probably the first light-coloured beer I’ve tasted that really benefits from the liquorice!
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 20 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Online]
3.7A 0.33 l bottle from Mali Ducan, Split. It pours a hazy amber to copper body with medium sized yellow head. Very fine aroma of tropical fruits and light citrus hops, licorice, various spices like pepper and cloves, with toasted bread malt. Flavor is lightly bitter, herbal, only lightly fruity with strong licorice note that adds to the sweetness and gets well along with biscuit malt. Medium bodied with moderately long, lightly sweet even, with licorice, fruity and candy. Lightly milky in the aftertaste, too. Quite interesting one, and I really like it!
3.2Dark amber. Good aroma of citrus hops. Hoppy flavour with lots of liquorice in the finish, and a sweet taste with medium bitterness. Medium body. Overall, a good but not remarkable IPA. The liquorice does not complement the hops very well, and the IPA does not benefit from it.
3.3Fresh, light licorice, but again IPA with licorice - doesnt work well for me. Some malty background, quite intense for IPA, citrusy orange hops. Light sweetness with moderate bitterness.
Decent, but one time try
4.1On tap. Amber color, hazy liquid, white head. Aroma is fruity, juicy, balanced with hops bitterness. I haven’t spotted liquorice there and the taste is quite (medium) sweet. Good one.
3.6Smag frisk sødlig appelsin lidt gran kant lidt kant af lakrids frisk duft sød lidt appelsin humle
3.8Hazy orange color, big white head that left lots of lacing on the side. Aroma of apricot, passion fruit, blood oranges, grapefruit. Taste of apricot juice, tropical fruits, citrus, lots of licorice sweetness, maybe its even too sweet. But its very good, its different, its almost awesome... in small doses.

2.6Konstig smak, börjar som en ipa, för att snabbt övergå i lakrits som sedan försvinner direkt. Ingen höjdare
4.3Bottle 0,33l from Stella Beer shop in Medulin, Croatia. Hazy dirty orange liquid with big yellowish head. Smell of sweet fruits and herbs. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Sweet taste, fruits, licorice, flowers, citrus. Licorice aftertaste. Licorice gummy sweets. Great one. I love it!
3.3330ml bottle. Pours orange with medium off-white head. Aroma of peach, tropical fruits, hops. Medium body with soft carbonation. Taste is sweet with bitter finish and aftertaste. Unexpectedly sweet for ipa.
3.9Murky dark orange color, medium off-white to tan head plus nice lacing. Peach and hops aroma. Very hoppy taste, pretty bitter with some strange sweet liquorice finish. Medium body, soft carbonation, creamy texture. Tasty and refreshing. Very nice. //on tap at Craft Room
3.7On tap at Craft Room. Darked red/amber body with an off white head, low. Pungent aroma, tropical fruit, peach and vitamins on a malty base. Aroma... yeah, definitely tropical fruit again, peach brought to life and made juicy by the licorice sweetness that comes underneath, never cloying for me. Medium bitterness. Strange in a way, but damn well executed!
