Draft to half snifter at Dutch’s a few weeks back from notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have nice dark chocolate, mild roast, hint of coffee, medium plus body, creamy texture, mild spices, nice beer.
Svart med høyt tykt brunt skum. Kaffe, mørk sjokolade, rosiner, brøddeig og noe mørke frukter og såpe. Bitter smak, mørk sjokolade og kaffe. Lett sødme og noe salt smak mot salt lakris. Fyldig.
How: Bottle. Appearance: Black, brown head. Aroma: Bitter coffee, chocholate, some smoke Palate: Medium to full body, low carbonation.
Bottle. Pitch black with moderately lasting, dark brown head which fades to a thin layer. Aroma is of chocolate, roasted malts, bitter coffee. No sign of the holiday spice in the aroma or the taste. Taste is more roasted malts, bitter coffee, some hoppy notes, dark chocolate. Long finish, medium carbonation, slightly viscous heavy body. Enjoyable but would like to see a more prominent presence of the holiday spice.
Jet black color, creamy brown head. Dark chocolate nose, espresso coffee, licorice, vanilla, ripe fruit, roasted malt. Coffee taste, roasted malt, licorice, well balanced, light bitter finish. Full body, soft carbonation, creamy texture.
Pours a black with an off white head as more porters do.
The aroma is roasty with spices, the taste is similar but with a almost sour after taste, but its well balanced with a full slick mouthfeel, the carbonation is low.
A really enjoyable beer.
Tap. Poured a black color with a medium frothy tan head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This beer exceeded my expectations.

bij mij stond op het etiket (TIL.....FRA.......VIA......) . Tijdens het openen en inschenken viel het mij op dat het aroma een beetje tegen viel, chocolade, gebrande en geroosterde mouten, wellicht iets té koud ingeschonken. Zwart met een fantastische bruine kraag. Smaken zijn die van een goede Porter, koffie, chocolade, droog, redelijke body, kleverig in de mond met lage co2. Goed maar niet uitzonderlijk !

Tar black with a brown halflingering head. Roasted malt coffee and dark chocolate in the nose but also some spicy notes.
A rather bitter-sour palate with rhubarb and vanilla over espresso and chocolate truffels. Good.
750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 8%. Pitch black colour, large brown head. Pleasant roasty and vinous aroma, notes of coffee, dried figs and dark chocolate, hints of wood. Distinctly roasty flavour, some sweetness, notes of strong coffee and dark bitter chocolate and liquorice, dry hoppy, roasty and woody finish.
Bottle. Appearance: Jet black, medium dark brown/mocha head. Aroma: spice, nutmeg, prunes, coffee. Flavour: coffee, rhubarb, spices, malt, truffle chocolate, leather, warming alcohol, candy sugar, long leather and dark chocolate finish. Lovely.
Alla spina. Scuro color nero con soffice cappello di schiuma marroncina. Aroma di cioccolato e caffè con sentori più dolciastri di toffee e frutti rossi. Gusto ben bilanciato tra dolce e amaro con note di espresso, malto abbrustolito, cacao e un lieve tocco speziato, buon contrasto tra l’abboccato rotondo e parzialmente fruttato e zuccherino ed il finale asciutto e tostato. Corpo medio-abbondante, cremosa e liquorosa nella struttura ma un po’ appiccicosa nel finale. Meritevole.
On tap at Dutch’s. Black color, with a beautiful, moundy rocky brown head, leaving great thicker lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of creamy, lighter carbonation. Great chewy velvety texture. Very light slick. Very easy-drinking and smooth. Awesome dark chocolate, mild spice, good coffee flavors. Moderate sweet, but not too sweet, satisfying amount of bitter too, good balance. Alcohol is totally hidden. Really fantastic porter. These To From’s get better every time I try one... Need to seek out the other variants!

On bottle at christmas beer tasting , thanks Fredrik! Pitch black color, ok offwhite / brownish foam. High aroma intensity; leather, licorice, malt, christmas spices. Full body & high complexity. Some sweetness- balances well. Very enjoyable

Color marron oscuro sabor a malta vainilla cuerpo medio
33cl bottle @ home. 1 year old.
App: Oily and murky black. Big thick spongy head. Sticky lacings. Very nice. .
Aroma: Intensely roasted and spicy aroma with strong coffee, dark chocolate, nutmeg, thyme and pine..
Taste: Sweet with dark chocolate, nutmeg, licorice, grapefruit and pine needles.
Palate: Medium to big, soft carbonation, oily.
Overall: A year definitely did it good. Last year I thought it was mostly bitter and spicy sharp.

Mycket kaffe och choklad i doften.
Smaken är oerhört fyllig med smak som doften.

Pitch black, medium sized tan head. Aroma is brown sugar, fruit, berries and lots of coffee. Biiig coffee kick, coffee all over the place. Full bodied with average to soft carbonation and creamy texture. Medium to heavy bitterness, extremely long coffee finish. Alcohol is not noticeable. This is just wonderful.

In short: spicy sticky porter.
Pours black with rich vcreamy very tan head. Long head retention, some lacing. Roasty, coffee, burnt caramel, spicy aromas. Medium body, average carbonation, slightly crispy texture. Taste follows the nose, roasty, spicy, some hot flavours, viscous mouthfeel, long spicy aftertaste. Quite enjoyable.
Tap @ Fermenteron, Aarhus. Pours pitch black with a big dark brown head. Aromas of wood, roasted coffee beans, raisins, sweet dark fruits, tobacco. Taste is vanilla, dry coffee roast, tobacco, smooth chocolate, licorice, some spices, pepper, sweet dark fruits. Bittersweet chocolate and licorice finish.
Pours dark really dark with a thick head. Taste is serious porter. Burnt cedar and toffee.
Anybody notice how it doesn't say "porter" on the bottle? Just "holiday ale"
75 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with some sediment and a tan head that leaves quite a bit of lacing. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, spices, herbs, coffee, and liquorice - with a bitter finish.
0,33 bottle from svijet piva. Pours pitch black with nedium browb head. Coffee and dark fruit nose. Aroma is mostly coffee, maybe a bit of dark fruits,caramel, spices. Very good.
33 cl. Mindst holdbar til 27/08/19. Belle dentelle brune. Robe noire. Nez légèrement épicé mais bien rôti avec des arômes de caffè mocha, des parfums citronnés et des effluves de conifères. Les saveurs sont bien houblonnées, fraîches mais aussi subtilement épicées et modérément rôties. En bouche, j’ai l’impression d’un corps de moyenne densité avec un pétillement soutenu et une texture légèrement crémeuse. En finale, l’amertume des cultivars est saupoudrée de cannelle et de malts rôtis. Solide performance. Bien facile à boire. Le genre de truc qui se démarque au fil des gorgées.
Aroma is fairly mild; chocolate, cola, and a little woody. Amazingly thick and dark with a thick beige head. Taste is roasted malts, cola, coffee, and chocolate, with big bitterness to finish. Big body, smooth mouthful. Lovely.
Bottle. Creamy lightbrown excellent fully lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and hoppy wonderfull aroma. Heavy bitter fantastic rich and complex flavor. Loads of eveything good in perfect balance. Long great finish. Creamy palate. Truly worldclass, hope to see a few more bottles at christmas.
