3.7 Cloudy orange, nice white head. Smells of lemon and cold steel. Very lemony flavor, with notes of vinegar and dust. dry finish. Very tasty.
3.7 Bottle split with EC and LS. Pours a slightly hazy, orange body with a medium, thick, creamy head that lingers and sticks. Aroma is outdoorsy and tart with some citrus. Lightly sweaty. Malty sweet flavor with moderate bitterness. Tart and lemony with some nice bitter grapefruit. Light body with a decidedly bitter finish. Effervescent carbonation. Tartness and sourness adds to the bitter perception. Alcohol is well hidden/blended. A successful experiment and a pleasure to have tasted!
3.3 Golden with a thick white head. Acidic with sour tones. Malt, hops and sour. Medium body with a bitter / sour finish.
4.0 Had at capones. Pour was a super hazy crazy head with lace. Aroma was malts and yeast out the wazoo. Flavor was really creamy malts and yeast. Really earthy.
4.2 Draft at Capones. Gorgeous amber pour with nice milky head. Aroma is sweet with slightly musty notes. Taste is sweet citrus with nice mild brett funk. Really rounded flavor finishes well. Great.
3.7 Hazy golden color with a medium white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of wood, brett, vanilla, toffee, light spices. Taste of citrus, wood, light grass, brett, and a wild finish.
3.8 Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, huge head. Starts hoppy and dry, but turns sourish with lemon notes quickly. Nice mixture of both components. Finish sourish, not too much, prickly sourish aftertaste. Interesting beer!
4.0 One of Mikkellers yeast-experiments - an educational services. I have had all of these yeastie bastards, but havn’t rated them. This one deserves a rating though, because it in my opinion along with the US ale is the best one. The pour is dark orange with an off white top with a fluffy texture. The nose is wonderfull fruity with the bretts standing out perfectly. Fresh hazel nuts and honey melon, the bretty soap and peaches. The taste is also fruity and sweet, but has a profound bitterness on top. A lively palate as with many brett beers and a long finish dominated by the fruity bitterness.
4.3 On tap at the CASK, Pimlico, 27th Nov 2010. Dark hazy orange. Gorgeous Brett aroma. Fruity, slightly sour taste. Candy sugar and orangey hops. Exceptional. You want another before you are halfway through the first glass.
3.9 Tasted on 7/18/11 from a 330mL bottle purchased at West Lakeview Liquors. Pours clear, fiery blood orange with a massive, rocky off-white head that slowly recedes to rocky lace, leaving a ton of thick lacy residue along the inside of the glass. The nose features some sweet caramel malt along with a very dry barnyard and horse blanket brett aroma with just a hint of tart and lightly bitter aromas. The flavor is lightly sweet with caramel malt, brown sugar and light fruitiness up front, moving to the very dry barnyard brett and a slightly burnt bitter malt flavor as well. The body is medium to full with average, but smooth carbonation and a long dry barnyard brett and lightly bitter finish with some tannins.
3.8 Bottle from Bruisin’ in Asheville. Pours hazy amber with golden edges and a massive pillow of light beige head. Nose is brett, candied orange peel, tangerine, grapefruit, cobwebs, leather, and lemon oil. Hoppier than expected. Some barnyard action, but hidden behind some of the sweet candied sugar and malty notes that are surprisingly prominent. Great nose. Taste is sweeter than I hoped for, though still plenty of the notes promised in the nose. The candied orange is big on the tastebuds. Almost cloyingly sweet by the end. Dry palate.
3.9 Draft at the Farmers’ Cabinet. Pours a hazy, dark golden orange color with tangerine edges and a one finger frothy white head. Good retention slowly fading into a lasting ring that leaves sporadic spots of lace. Slightly funky, dry aroma with subtle barnyard notes and funky dry Brett. Also pretty hoppy/earthy with lots of grass, straw and a bunch of citrus. Hints of mango, papaya and orange peel. Medium bodied with a nice balance of dry, earthy, funk, bitter earthy hops and sweet citrus notes. Dry funky brett up front that lingers over the sweet citrus into a lingering funky, dry finish. Hints of mango, pineapple and orange peel. Complex and unique. One of the better ipa/Bret hybrids. Abv well masked subtle heat in the finish.
3.7 On tap at Farmer’s Cabinet during RBSG. Pours a ruby to orange gold with a thin white head. Malt and dry brett on the nose, sweet toast. Unexpectedly sweet, caramel and butterscotch. Hoppy, with some dry brett. Tannic and bretty, very dry long brett with a touch of malt coming back.
3.6 On tap at Farmer’s Cabinet. I wrote "love the pour," but dumbass me forgot to specify. Anyway, I’m sure it looked great. Nose is surprisingly boozy with notes of raisin, hops, and some yeast. Flavor is heavy of butterscotch with yeast, black pepper and tons of hops. Brett is minimally noticeable. A bit of cherry malt in the finish. Sticky, light, and slightly yeasty. Not what I expected, but I liked it.
3.4 Tap at Farmers Cabinet. Hazy orange with small white head. Very, very mild brett (if any at all), lots of candy sweetness.
3.6 In short: A leathery/grapefruity bretty golden ale with an oily doughy cookies backbone. Good beer, NOT a funky beer How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed approximately 8 months after the first bottle rating. Bottle from dand645, thanks a lot Dan The look: Partly cloudy golden body topped by a medium beige head In long: Raw bretty nose of medium intensity that brings sensation of leather, freshly cut grapefruit, cobweb, green apples. Taste is biscuit malts, doughy cookies, pineapples, leather, bitter grapefruits. Finish is moderately dry, astringent and a with a spiciness sensation in the after-taste. Body is a bit oily. It is a bit funky but really not that funky. I waited a bit to drink it to make sure the brett had eaten all the sugars it could eat. Being a brett-head I was hoping for more. But it is a fun beer even if not the funky bretty bomb I was hoping for. Ok, so the new beer trend is “Single Yeast” beers. Whatever. I should burry a bottle so that beer geeks from the future can remember what a long forgotten beer trend was when they dig out my bottle next year.
3.4 5/25/11. 12oz bottle courtesy colemanzuber! Funky vinegar aroma with some funk and citrus. Maltier, complex flavor that surprisingly isn’t super Brett forward, honestly. Still tasty!
3.7 Bottle at Mikkeller bar. Light amber pour. Aroma and flavor are of course dominated by brett yeast. Also slight bitterness. (Notes from offline rating)
3.7 330mL bottle. Pours cloudy gold with a big fluffy off-white head which leaves a lot of lacing. Very fruity aroma, vinous, pineapple, peaches, a little floral, slightly acidic, some malt and woody hops. Mild malty sweetness, a little tart, some bitterness, reasonably fruity flavour. Medium bodied, average carbonation, reasonably smooth with a slight bitter finish.
3.8 Bottle from kuphish and bride. Hazy copper pour with a lacing white/beige head. Nose is pretty exemplary Brett, sour and metallic with lots of untamed wildness. A nice rush! Very malty, soft and pillowy, reminds me a lot of my HB with the Admirals and later spiked with commercial bugs, perceived sweetness from the hops. A nice lacing barnyard acidity. Medium-full body with layers of malt. Loved it, love the yeast component!
3.8 bottle. citrus, herbs, barnyard, fruity aroma. thick head that stays, with tan foam. hazy, red/brown, rocky head, three fingers foam. real sharp fruity funky smell. good lacing. lightly sweet but it’s a strange funky farmhousey sweet off set by slight tart and bitterness. light body. finishes smooth. a very interesting beer.
3.6 Tap, Mikkeller bar. Big three fingers of eggshell head; tawny copper hue with a slight chill haze. Nice, lighter brett in the aroma with lots of citrus, and light funk. Bit of a cleaner yeastiness to it, with light funky notes, minerals, earthy, and a slightly leathery finish. Soft body witih spritzy carbonation. Very fun to drink.
3.6 Bottle.Pours amber with a white head.Aroma of brett, cellar , peach and fruitiness.Flavor is sweet and peachy with some brett and fruitiness.Medium body , average carbonation.Nice funky beer..
3.6 Courtesy of gunhaver. Pours clear deep gold with off white head. The aroma is sweetness and a mixture of tropical fruit and citrus nuanced Brett. The taste is pretty smooth and lines up nearly one for one with the aroma as I seem to get an overall sweetness along with tropical fruit and citrus notes rolling into a tart and slightly soured citrus like Brett quality.
3.2 33cl bottle into my Orval glass...If you are the best of a bad bunch, does that make you good, that is the questions Socrates posisted...Anyway this is a lightly sour beer from start to finsih. Its just sour, no flavor, depth or complexity. If you like sour you might like this, but its really just boring.
3.7 Thanks to gunhaver for the share. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Nose is pineapple, tropical fruit, some malt, some lemon, and a slight hint of tartness or funk. Flavor is similar with a big citrus brett presence- pineapple and tropical fruit. Light to medium body and lingering bretty fruit.
3.9 11.2 oz bottle. It pours a decent pale brownish/honey/amber color. The head is huge and ivory in color. As it slowly recedes it leaves some nice lacing behind. The smell remnds me of some other Mikkeller Brett ales. It is sweet and caramally but with the signature bretty must and funkiness. It isn’t super funky since this is a young bottle, but enough to excite the nose. There is also a nice pinch of hops in there for a nice balance. The flavor is suprising to me. It is very flavorful, even with my alergies acting up. There is a very intriguing and nice hopiness along with a nice big mouthful of brett. It isn’t super funky but nice and spicy and yeasty. There is a nice hint of lemon and fruit. The mouthfeel is perhaps a bit undercarboanted and would serve as the weak point of this beer. Think hoppy wild ales for this one, it would be in the realm of a Wild Devil. Another Great mikkeller beer, but too bad about the price. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-28-2010 05:04:51

4.3 Murky amber with big, foamy, beige head / Delicate nose of orchard fruit and skunky barnyard / Light to medium body, acidic and lightly tart, with good balance and dry, bitter, finish / Musty, funky, flavors of apple, pear, caramel, chrysanthemum, manure, and soap / Good stuff.
