3.7 Bottle from Kwiker Liquor enjoyed from Hampton Inn paper cup listening to a thunderstorm chase idiots off the beach. Pours out dark brown with a gravity defying brown head. Big aroma of dry cocoa and a hint of smoky, roasted malt. The flavor has espresso and a light bitterness like from orange pith or peel. Thats good porter.
3.6 330nml bottle. Pours almost black with little head. Orange peel aroma. Decent body and taste of chocolate orange, mild roasted coffee and a hoppy aftertaste, but not bitter.
3.5 Bottle sample at a tasting at Lior’s place. Thanks Max. Opaque black with huge stable brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt, orange and salted snack. Bitter and spicy flavor with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, sourish, orange peels, coffee, a bit smoked. Full-bodied. Nice.
3.5 Bottle sample at a tasting at Lior D’s place. Thanks Max. Black with a big tan head. Aroma of roast, coffee, oranges, ash. Bittersweet flavor, slightly sourish, with roast, coffee, chocolate, a bit of orange, ash. Medium to full-bodied, rounded.
Piana o kolorze kawy z mlekiem, szybko opada. Piwo pije się bardzo przyjemnie i lekko. Wszystko jest tu bardzo dobrze zbalansowane. Kwasek dobrze uzupełnia się z kawową cierpkością i czekoladą. Ciekawa wariacja na temat porteru.
3.9 Bottle from Biernavigatie. Big zesty orange aroma indeed, fruity citrus, dark malt, cocoa, roast, chocolate, coffee, some hops in the finish. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and medium hoppy bitter. Body is above medium, very agreeable. I love orange in my Porter/Stout and this one did not disappoint.
3.7 W nosie średnio intensywnie, kawa, czekolada, cytrusy, aromat trochę przypomina Black IPA. Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzyste, piękna, beżowa, gęsta i wysoka piana. W smaku podobnie, dużo nut palonych, gorzka czekolada, kawa, w tle lekka kontra cytrusowa. W ustach bardzo gładkie, goryczka średnia, palona. Niezłe. Butelka do 15.04.2017
3.2 On tap at Mikkeller San Fransisco. The orange flavour is a bit much for me, otherwise it’s a very well made stout.
3.9 Bottled @ Half Way Inn. Black with a rich dense beige head, good lacing. Citrus zesty aroma, roasted barley, coffee and chocolate, much like an bipa. Full-bodied, soft carbonated, dry and crisp mouthfeel. Roasted barley taste, ash, chocolate and citrus zest. Dry finish.
3.7 Bottle. Almost black. Roast, caramel, orange peel in the aroma. Caramel, roast, orange peel in the aroma. Caramel, roast, chocolate, orange peel and lots of grassy hops in the flavor. A very rich and tasty beer.
4.0 BOTTLE 33 CL. Pitch black, dark mocha head. Rich black malts nose, lots of licorice sweets and candied orange peel. The taste is really roasty, without being acrid. Balanced by just eight sticky molasses and licorice, big bitterness - ranging from pine to zest - and some charred wood in the after taste. Smooth mouthfeel. A rich tasty porter.
3.4 33cl bottle from 100 Beers in Sofia. Aroma is roast, dark chocolate, molasses. Flavor is mildly sweet, mildly bitter, fairly roasty and chocolatey. Medium-bodied, fairly smooth. Where is the zest? Very, very subtle if at all. Docking a point or two for that.
3.7 Bottle @home. Pours black with a big bubbly beige head. Nose and taste is along the same lines dark chocolate, orange, orange zest, slight burnt notes.
3.8 Appearance: black, clear, rocky head, brown foam, long lasting. Aroma: rotten egg, coffee, bread, malt. Taste: medium sourness, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, nice balance. Palate: full body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish, bitter, astringent,
4.3 Noticeable sweet orange quality in this beer makes it a nice and almost weirdly light take on the style. I really enjoy this sort of thing.
3.9 33cl bottle shared at home. Very dark brown with a nice brown head. Medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Nice bitterness with subtle sweet tones. Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, orange peel and yeast. Good!
3.1 Black with big brown head. Aroma of cocoa, dark bread, soy sauce and orange. At the beginnig orange aroma is at front but after while disappears almost completly. Bitterness is quite heavy and it’s a little bit salty in taste. Orange zest is noticable in the background. Expectations wasn’t met but beer is good. Orange zest could be more at front but still nice.
4.5 Deep brown, large beige cap, the foam coasts the glass nicely. Nose has cocoa, orange peel and lime. Taste has chocolate/cocoa big orange zest with a pith bitterness.
4.0 Bottle at home. Raisin and plum notes, rich chocolatey flavour. Medium to full body. Delicious.
3.9 Almost completely black pour with a small brown head. Aroma has coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice with some malty sweetness. Taste is bitter and deep, no sweetness at all. Starts with fresher notes but the coffee overwhelms them quickly. The aftertaste is long and bitter. Overall a strong porter with an interesting twist, which is noticeable the whole time. Doesn’t really remind be of an orange though. A nice beer nonetheless.
4.0 Bottle. Dark creamy pour. Aroma of Orange zest, roasted malt, chocolate and licorice. Taste is quite fruity, with lots of orange, bitter citrus, licorice, cacao, roasted malt and a dry bitter hoppy roast finish. Very tasty.
4.2 Quite smokey and burnt with flavours of coffee and chocolate. The zest of orange comes in later and works very well. Great porter.
3.5 Aroma of whiskey and some smoke. Flavor is boozy, some chocolate, some oak and smoke. Finish is a whiskey bite. Pours almost black with a thin tan head. Had out of a bottle at home
3.8 Bottle. Hearty near black pour with a light brown head. Dark roasty profile with orange peel undertones. Very dry, virtually no sweetness. Very nice nearly-imperial porter.
4.0 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a typically carbonated opaque dark black brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was dark malt. The thick mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong mild roasted malt aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of roasted malt toasted malt burnt malt dark malt and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.
3.7 Bottle from uba ja humal, tallinn. Black color, nice brown head. Aroma has roasted malts, some spices maybe chili, some fruitiness. Taste has roasted malts, coffee, some fruitiness, some orange, some strange sweetness. Hops at the end.
3.7 33cl bottle. Deep dark brown colour with a nice beige head. Moderate retention. Cocoa, liquorice, roasted malts and light zest. Average carbonation and medium to full body. Taste is moderate bitter with tart and citrus notes. Overall, a very good beer although a bit rush at finish.
3.3 Bottle. Black, creamy. Sour citrus on nose, huge black roast, malty, roasty ashy, some chocolate. Full bodied, bitters, roast, some roast ash acidity. Super flavourful, bit too heavy roasty for me. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
