Mill Street Cobblestone Stout

Mill Street Cobblestone Stout

We produce a traditional styled Irish Stout that is served using beer gas to produce that familiar creamy pour. Our black stout has a roasted malt flavour and a hint of toasted walnuts and choclate in the finish. Select imported hops are used to dry out the finish of this ale.

4.5 Nitro Stout en canette. Vraiment excellente. Une Guiness de microbrasserie. À découvrir!
3.7 The nitro through me off, this seems like there is not enough carbonation. It's a stout so I can live with that. Coffee and Tobacco (good tobacco) linger. It's dark and rich without the burnt coffee of Guinness. The more I drink the more I like it.
3.6 On tap at La Forge in Tremblant, Quebec. Opaque, near-black with a small, creamy "cafe au lait" head and very good lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, roasted malt and cocoa. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt and caramel. Medium body and medium/low carbonation with a smooth mouthfeel.
4.0 The nitro aspect of this beer makes it so lively and smooth once you pour it, it is quite an experience. A must try for me, as I’ll have to repeat the experience. Part of the exchange beer at work.
3.5 Brownish black body, foamy tan head of one finger. Musty roasted coffee aroma. Flavor is bitter with dark chocolate lace. Velvetty smooth in mouth.
4.0 On nitro tap at the hotel bar in Corner Brook NL. Solid black color with a rich creamy tan head that persists. Earthy roasty with a hint of chocolate and dried fruit. Pretty stand up dry stout.
3.9 Nitro tap at my hotel bar in Toronto. Almost black pour, gorgeous creamy nitro head. Sweet, chocolate, a little nutty. Creamy texture.
3.2 440ml can. Pours a clear dark brown almost black with red hue and a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, light nuts and a hint of smoke. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, ash, light nuts and earthy hops with a dry, mildly bitter coffee finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Just ok.
3.7 Pours a clear black with a beautiful brown head. Aroma is roasted malts & bitter chocolate. Taste is roasted malts and dark light bitter chocolate. Very smooth and creamy mouth feel to it. Great example of a dry stout.
3.6 Tap at brewpub in Toronto airport. Great thick pour. Color is not quite black. Smooth body and great mouthfeel but feel like cheap ripoff of Guinness. Smoky hazelnut notes and spice at end bring quality down a bit. Roasted Malts are nice but would look at their other options if you are here.
2.0 On tap at Pearson Airport, Toronto. Nice to see a non-Guiness stout in an airport in any country. Sadly very little flavour or body to this though. Some vague burnt notes and a bit of cheap chocolate ice cream. May have been better before inBev got involved, I suppose...
3.4 Draft at the brewery. Black body, thick brown head. The aroma has smoked barley. The taste is smooth and not dry at all. Nice licorice finish.
3.0 Had in Whistler. Brown with a foamy, creamy head that has amazing retention. Slightly smoky nose. Taste is toasted malt. It's a little thin - so so. Guess I am used to imperial stouts.
2.7 De couleur noir avec beaucoup everfesssance et le col est moka. On n’a des de torrification et un peu moka . En bouche on reste sur notre soif car le gout n est pas aux rendez vous . C est fade comme gout même si c est stout dry . Un peu de gout
1.6 Draught at the Cider House. Pitch black, creamy white head. Extremely faint aroma of coffee and chocolate. Very faint roasted coffee and chocolate flavour, with some mineral notes. Pretty sure I’ve had this before, but I could swear it was better before. Tastes kinda like nothing.
1.8 Canette 473ml. Couleur noire opaque, mousse moka fuyante. Arôme métallique, mélasse, malt. Goût de mélasse, malt torréfié, amertume moyenne, pointe de café. Carbonatation très faible, corps faible.
1.3 On tap at local craft beer pub... this beer has a putrid aroma that carries over into the taste. Spoke to thr owner, he said that is what it is supposed to taste like. A poor example of the style. Perhaps the brewery is cutting corners since being bought out by inbev..? Not recommended.
2.9 Can. Nitrogen infused weak body makes for a poor drink. Quite insipid although there is a trace of maltiness. Pretty rubbish and certainly not what I would call a craft beer.
3.1 On draft at a restaurant in Whistler Village. Ordered this having been duped by the waiter into believing it was a local craft beer. Not local. Not craft. Not terrible but pretty average stout overall.
3.4 Keg at Mill St., Ottawa. Near black, mid sized head. Licorice and coffee up front. Dry with light-medium body and somewhat creamy rounded mouthfeel. Grainy licorice, coffee and spice. Long bitter finish.
2.5 From a can the pour is highly foamy that slowly constructs into a 3 finger khaki head, that last more than 20 minutes, has a very fine definition, and making creamy lacing. Extremely thick and creamy, almost looks like marble stone! (no joke) The beer is dark brown, almost black, opaque with no visual activity. Dominant malty sugars, with soft leafy spices. Flavors of wood, oysters, roasted dark malts, faint coffee and chocolate, soft molasses and caramel, and some herbal spices. Oily medium body with soft carbonation. Medium strength finish, a little spicy and peppery, lingering smoked malts with a light earthy feel of walnuts. A little watery and flat, lacks body, carbonation, and intensity. Doesn?t feel very fresh like a bad English porter. The flavors are okay, but nothing special. Overall mediocre quality craft.
3.3 Pours very black with a french vanilla milky head; aroma is fairly mild for a stout, but desserty - vanilla and mocha. Taste is chocolate malt, slight coffee, a hint of raspberry; palate is disappointingly watery. Slightly above-average.
3.5 Pours a good black with a medium creamy beige head that leaves very nice lacing. Nose is of roasted malt for sure but there is a slight grapiness to it, too. No ash, which I can really appreciate. Taste is off-dry (a little sweeter than you’d expect a dry stout to be) and offers more of the roasted malt again without any disturbing ash. Some chocolate angles. A light bitterness. Body is light, carbonation moderate and mouthfeel is pretty creamy. A fun mass produced dry stout. I might get that again if I get stuck in a very specific situation and it’s the only product around.
3.6 Sampled from the tap at the Pierson location. Pours near black with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has dark grains with light roasted malts with a bit of chocolate underlying. Flavor has earthy dark grains with a dry finish and roasted malts backing.
3.6 On tap at Bistr’eau A: light coffee, light roasty, a touch of caramel, light licorice App: pitch black thick beige head with great lacing. T/p: thin to med body with short bitter finish. Creamy. O: Nothing complicated a simple Irish stout easy to chug down.
2.0 3/4 of a flight at the Toronto brewpub. Opaque black with very fine beige head. Nitrogenated, I think. Thin. Flavor of burnt meat, rancid nuts, and flat sugar free cola. How in the world this has a rating of 88 overall is beyond me. If you like stouts, skip this.
3.5 Can (473 ml), shared. Dark brown with a creamy fully lasting beige head leaving little lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate and caramel notes. Taste is mildly sweet with roasted malts, chocolate, hints of caramel and vanilla notes. Medium body. Nitro carbonation. Creamy / velvety mouthfeel. Chocolatey finish. Good nitro stout. Easy drinking.
3.7 Black as night, average head. Aroma of peat and smoked ham. Medium body, no carbonation. Taste of peat.
