3.3Bottle.
A- Cloves, coriander, pepper, spices, lemons, wheat, funk.
A- Golden color, clear liquid, minimal head.
T- Tons of spices, coriander, cloves, wheat
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spiced finish.
O- I liked this beer and I didn’t like this beer. A bit of funk on the aroma and heavy on the spice. The palate was very spice forward as well. Other than being a little strong it was a pretty good wheat. Certainly not a favorite, but drinkable.
3.2Wheat and wheat taste. Bottle at menzners. Not bad. Taste is wheat. Like a wheat flavor. Kind of wheat ish
3.312 oz. bottle shared by DrSilverworm - thanks again, Chris! Although, couldn’t you have found one of those neate swing-tops in the photo? Pours a hazed pale yellow with a bone white head. Notes of wheat, banana, straw, coriander, dried apricot, and grass. Light-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a dry, wheaty mouthfeel. Good job to Millstream and the John’s Grocery Bier Guy on this one!
3.512oz bottle, picked up from Brennan’s during my stay in Madison for GTMW. Shared with local beer guys. Totally hazy whitish yellow color. Thin white head. Some lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of creamy, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Good herbal, kind of zesty aroma. Mild spice, more of a nice herbal aroma. Nice belgian wit yeast. Moderate sweet taste, kind of zesty, lighter bitter. Pretty impressive white ale. A lot better than expected, definitely above average.
4.1Draft at Bricks. Pours cloudy yellow gold with very little head. Nose and taste are lemon with some coriander. Nice wit.
3.2bottle @ John’s Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Cloudy lemon color with lots of tiny sediment dots, thin head cover, small loops of lace. Taste and aroma are both wheat and spices, joined by orange and lemon citrus deep in the palate. Easy to drink, reasonable.
3.4Bottle - bright yellow and cloudy pour with a medium head. There appears to be some sort of sediment floating around in the beer (is that supposed to be there?!). Light hint of lemon peel taste. Medium body and sweet and dry on the finish.
3.4Hazy yellow with withe head. On tap at the Cedar Rapids airport. Aroma of citrus, banana and spice with a little pine. Favorable and bitter, like the Aroma. Kick this up a couple ABVs and it would be awesome...
3.312oz bottle 9/28/13 (Hy-Vee Cedar Rapids)-Pours a murky yellow with a white head. Aroma of spices, yeast, and coriander. Taste of the same with spices coming more forward on the back end. This light bodied brew is well balanced and goes down smooth.
3.4bottle; bear of the month club. This is a nice little spicy white ale. pours cloudy light gold with minimal carbonation and head. smells of spice and tastes of light citrus and moderate to heavy spice initially with a light lingering light spice
3.3On tap at the brewery. Pale yellow appearance with a white head. Aroma of crispy hops, lemon zest, banana, orange peel, and bready wheat malts. Similar flavor, adding a clove spice and light herbal bitterness (coriander). Nice carbonated body, smooth and easy to drink with a refreshing finish.
2.8Beer of month club. Pours a very, very cloudy/hazy yellow -like grapefruit juice (not the pink kind). Nose of spices, and maybe even a little scented soap. Taste has some of the spice, but mostly is kinda boring. Meh.
3.3very light bodied beer, has aromas of yeast and slight peppers, the taste is of a bread and yeast but still finishes very smooth and drinkable
3.1Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow, lots of bubbles in this sucka. Aroma is spices, flavor is light pepper, herbs and some fruitiness.
3.3stub bootle just fine pours a nice creamed yellow with big lasting soft soap white head. aroma of uncooked foury dough, soft creamed wheat. faint pear. taste is lemon grass, creamed somewhat soapy wheat. pear sweetness. unique. complex. but some weird flavor combinations. musty old fog forest and a soapy lemon zest. some soft, faint twangy lemon zested and soft banana cream pie as it warms. relatively clean and thirsty quenching or a parched bro. strange. beer. some neat aspects, but too many peculiar flavors. quite different than expected.
big props to &e 4 this cred boostin iowa booster shot
2.1I had it on tap. Interesting beer, and even when it wasn’t bad, it tasted a bit too pumpkinish to me
3.212 oz bottle. A. From Iowa. A big thank you goes to John M!
Hazy pale yellow colour with a small white head.
Wheat, yeast and mild bitterness in the aroma. Good.
The flavour is yeast, wheat, bread, mild bitterness and some spices. Quite good. Very round but also a bit bland.
3.6Bottle. Pours a hazy straw-colored with white head, good retention, but no lacing. Aroma: yeast, sulfur, pepper and clove. Light, wheaty sweetness, some mineral, and then a crisp, dry finish. Lively carbonation, light body. Refreshing - a nice wit.
3.5Tap, foggy pale yellow (honestly, looked like urine) with a minuscule white head that left a surprisingly large lace. Malty aroma, tasted medium sweet. Light bodied with average carbonation, finished clean. Overall, a tasty and beautiful ale.
3.6Bottle from John’s Grocery - tried this one last night and its solid, aroma is lemony (I seem to be on a lemon kick lately) with some nice wheat tones. It pours a cloudy pale orange with a white head. Still surprised that I liked this one too much.
3.6Bottle from Johns Grocery. Pours yellow and cloudy with a half inch of white foam. Leaves a lot of lacing in the glass. Bright orange peel and coriander on the nose. Solid orange on the tongue. Dries the mouth out on the finish. Pretty solid example of the style.
4.1Bottle from Johns. Very pale cloudy yellow orange with lasting dense head and lace. Fresh aromas of tangy wheat orange and coriander. Very refreshing light orange lemon sweetness with mildly bitter herbal dry tangy clean finish. Refreshing light body with nice carbo. An excellent wit. I could easily drink the whole thing in one quaff.
3.1Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a thin head. Plain wheaty base, light lemony citric and spicy notes, and a hint of sweetness. Not bad.
3.7Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange color with white head. Spicy, coriander, belgian yeast aromas. Wheat, cracker, spicy flavors. Pretty tasty witbier.
2.9Bottle at Blipp’s surprise tasting. Pours cloudy gold with white head ring. Nose and taste of banana, wheat and cracker malt, coriander, light clove and old citrus peel. Lighter medium body.
3.0Beer at blipps bday tasting. 12 oz bottle. Ordered from johns grocery. Pours a dull pale yellow gold. Thin fades to no head. Aroma of citrus old orange peel, coriander cracker. Flavor. Cracker toast dull spice and phenols. Seems like a dull mix of belgian white and am wheat with some spices. Low actualy wheat character Oxidized. Dull old stale. Meh.
3.0Draft in Cedar Rapids airport. Solid white ale. Not as spicy as I hoped. Good texture though. Nothing wrong with it at all.
3.7Could taste a hint of cinnamon. Was a light refreshing great "Summer-Time Beer"
2.6A pretty standard and tame witbier. Odd that many small grocery stores or chains love having house witbiers.
