Minhas Lazy Mutt Farmhouse Ale

Minhas Lazy Mutt Farmhouse Ale

Lazy Mutt is an unfiltered ale, cloudy and pale in color. The off-white foam slowly disappears to reveal a slight citrus aroma. A citrusy palate gives way to a light malty sweetness touched by a hint of corn. Bottle conditioned ale made with Canadian 2 row malt and Galena and Tettnag variety of fine hops.

2.5 Bottle. Golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is apple, citrus, vinegar hint of wet cardboard. Flavour is cooked vegetables, vinegar, apple, citrus, maize, fruit. Weird beer. KRS 160814.
2.9 Bottle, 5.0%. Aroma of lactic acid, perhaps a little vinous. Clear golden colour. Unstable fizzy white head. The flavour also has some citric acid. A little funky. Malty and citric finish.
2.1 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, with fruity and estery touches and hints of hops. Sourish flavour (off?) with malty and fruity notes and touches of hops. Vinous aftertaste - is that the way it should be? Low carbonation. Needs re-rating as it tastes like something between a pumpkin ale and just an off ale.
2.2 Picked up in a Lake Geneva, WI boutique food/wine shop. Pours with a short lived white head and minimal carbonation. Aroma is of pancakes, with a slight alcohol tinge. Taste is of pancakes and a slight cider. Hops are not noticeable. Not terrible, but not sure it was intended.
0.5 Save your time and money. The beer is horrible. It’s cheap for a reason. No quality. ALL THE BEER is watery dish-water. Sure, one can buy this from Trader Joe’s for a low price, but really, what you get is nothing on par to quality. I’d rather put the extra money towards a pint or six pack of something more proven and worthwhile. This beer is made cheap for a reason and its to sell out. The owners, both non brew-masters by the way, just some trust fund rich kids, are slinging this dishwater to steal your money. I mean go on the website, it shows the guy walking out of his Escalade SUV and the interviews with him and the sister "co-owner" show the trust fund babies they are...both siblings are narcissistic and ridiculous. I would give this a zero rating if could.
2.2 More bad beer from minhas. This tastes just like the pils. Awful. All malt and no other noticeable flavors. Had a bottle pour at home.
2.0 Bottle. Pours a clear-ish pale yellow with a large white head. Hoppy aroma. The taste is surprisingly odd - malt and hops, but also berries, yeast, vinegar and some citrus flavours. Pretty average in body and carbonation. Got a bitter finish. Not great - I think I’d prefer a nice glass of cold water...or a Budweiser.
1.0 12oz bottle from 5e Mondial de la Bière, Mulhouse. Cheap, made by a lazy mutt of a label designer lazy macro label caveat... Pours a stale orange. Sharp lactic, slightly rancid, sweetish buttermilk aroma, like an infected macro lager with a hint of industrial Berliner Weisse: almost enticing for an instant. Taste of cooked sweet & sweaty corn in fruity overdrive, cheap peach liqueur ("Pêche" in fumato letters on the bottle), Babybrei, cooked corn and apple juice leakage. Buttery palate, with a viscous dose of canned apricot syrup, slightly prickly by natural infection, that makes it really hard not to keep diving in for new kitchy sips. Yet, so spectacularly off-track that it becomes hard not to self-harm and keep sipping, despite the briny, sulphuric, sticky cider vinegar and mouldy almond aftertaste. The elusive farmhouse in case must really be an abatoir for unwanted flavours that come to die there among the graves of poor maltreated Tettnanger and Galena, extending a final bitter hand to the palate beyond that grave; may this lazy mutt rest deep enough in its muddy mulch. - come to think of it: In a way, this is as ill-guided as many a Fantôme saison, only much poorer and less lovingly ill-guided.
0.8 Bottle from Beers of Europe as part of my efforts to drink lots of farmhouse/saison beers before brewing one. Maybe I should have read the reviews first! It looks ok I guess, although the golden orange tint is a tad alarming. Medium carbonation, no head to speak of. Urgh what’s that in the aroma? Nail varnish? Petrol? Taste is no better and maybe worse. Sweet, buttery, lacks bitterness, flabby and err vinegary. This isn’t ’farmhouse’, this is a crap beer that got infected and no self respecting Belgian would have let it see the light of day.
1.0 Aroma: High sourness, green apple, cider (acetaldehyde). Appearance: Body: Clear, light gold. Head: Small, white. Flavour: Malt: Medium-high grainy, corn, syrup. Medium-high sweetness. Slight sourness. No hops. Sweet finish. Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation. Overall: Very sweet. I think the fermentation never completed. Very disappointing. 330 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 16C. Saison

1.6 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Odd sweet buttery aroma, with some....almond? Medium body, sweet and sour fruit and....solvents?? Not sure what’s going on here, but it sure is odd - especially if intended. Absolutely no bitterness. 090914
2.5 Bottle. It pours a dense, finger-thick off-white head over a lightly hazy golden body. Some lacings. The aroma has cider vinegar, cooked vegetables, maize notes and some pale malts and grass. Pale malts, fruityness, cider vinegar notes, and a faint bitterness in the flavor. Medium body, quite dry on the palate. Cider vinegar, generic fruityness and some pale malts in the end. Sort of interesting this one, but not really good. 140816
