Mission Street Pale Ale

Mission Street Pale Ale

Steinhaus Brewing Co.
This hand crafted brew is a perennial winner at beer competitions around the world. Nothing but pure water, hops, malted barley and yeast are used in the brewing process – nothing artificial, ever. It’s light-tasting and refreshing, while maintaining the essence of what a pale ale should be – amber in color with well balanced hops and a smooth finish. Whether you’re in the market for an interesting beer to serve at a holiday gathering or just a smooth, satisfying brew to enjoy with dinner, Mission St. Pale Ale fills the bill.

3.0 Mission St. Pale Ale has a thin, white head, a clear, bubbly, golden appearance, noticeable tiny white specs suspended throughout, and some small amount of lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of pale malt, mild citrus, and maybe a kiss of the hops. Taste is the same, with minimal hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is pretty light, and Mission St. Pale Ale finishes mostly dry and easy drinking. RJT
2.4 Bottle poured into a pint glass. Pretty pale golden color with a foamy head that sticks around for a few minutes. What you smell is what you get. Mild hops with some citrus and not much else. Great for $1 and better than Bud or Coors.
3.2 bottle from trader joes....i took a chance it was a buck....again pleasantly surprised by a mission street beer...decent citrus and hops mix....not too bitter...actually tasty.
3.3 Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a glowing yellow body, slightly amber at the edges, light foamy head. The smell had a slight flowery, lemon, grapefruit, pine, light grass in the background. The taste had a roasted caramel up front, yet faded as the beer warms, previously mentioned flavors show up as the beer warmed. The palate was pretty light, pretty sessionable, dry bitter aftertaste and finish. Overall, the best thing about this was the price, other than that, just an average American Pale Ale.
3.7 bottled 1/15/14, about a month and half ago. pours clear gold, minimal white head. nose is of mild citrus. moderate bitterness with oranges, grapefruit, and other assorted citrus wrapped in a crushable light body. not sure why everyone is scoring this low.
3.5 Pours a clear pale gold color with a white head. Hop, floral, citrus, grass and malt aroma. Light hop, grass, floral, honey, citrus and malt flavors. Light body and medium carbonation. Slightly sweet with a light floral finish.
3.6 Smells sweet, malty. Tastes sweet, balanced. Easy drinker, for sure. Simple Pale. Enjoyable. (I had this after a Tart of Darkness, if that screws my rating in some way) ---AJ's Approval
3.4 12 oz. bottle poured to a Czech-pils glass showing a hazed, golden color, with white, bubbly head froth, and good cling to the rings of doily-like lacing on the glass. The aroma was light marmalade sweetness, grapefruit & lemon, and some resiny scent. Similar notes made up the taste, plus an expressive & lingering hop bitterness that was earthy & peppery, a hint of underlying sweetness, and a good malt backing. Medium to light bodied, with lively carbonation, and a crisp finish. A decently sessionable Pale that represents the style well.
3.3 12oz bottle from Trader Joe’s in Tally. Clear yellow-gold pour with little head. Aroma is muted caramel malt and floral. Tastes are kind of muted also - not a lot going on: caramel, pine. Dries out in the crisp finish. Easy drinking if not complex.
3.4 bottle. golden with small head. very light malt with citrus hops. tastes vaguely of lemon pledge, but in this case, that’s a good thing.
3.3 12 oz. bottle from Trader Joes. Pours clear orange with a soapy white head that rest to a spotty film. Aroma is earthy and slightly floral hops with a caramel malt really showing over the hops. Taste has a gentle earthy hops and strong caramel malt backing. Palate is thin and slightly chalky. Decent APA.
3.0 Tallahassee, Fl. - Trader Joe’s - 12 oz bottle. Medium sparkling gold pour with a tight white head that sticks around a while. Aroma has some slight buttery accents and some caramel sweetness. Flavor has a bit of homebrew crystal malt overdose, a hint of caramel, some buttery notes in the back end. Mouthfeel is smooth.
3.2 Squat west coast longneck, OK label. Clear, medium gold beer. Not much head. Hoppy, slightly chemical aroma. Lively, tangy, kumquat notes, not very sweet. Not highly carbonated, body is a little on the light side, citrusy finish. Pleasant enough, a pretty good value. Trader Joe’s, Tallahassee.
3.5 12 oz bottle. Very good pale. Nice and hoppy with a crisp finish. I would definitely recommend
3.3 Bottle->SA. Bright lite orange-gold with airy white head. Strong pine and citrus hops. Tangy finish. Good.
2.8 Tap at the yardhouse. Pours clear amber, small white head, decent lacing. Aroma is pine, grass, caramel. Flavor is the same. Boring, light sweet, light bitter. Blah blah blah
3.4 Rated in 2010 (Backlog) - Golden color with a small white head. Aroma is of grain and grass. Taste is of light grapefruit and grain.
3.7 The color is a pleasing orange-yellow with a very thin head. The aroma is amazing, very floral and much better than others in its price range. Goes down like it smells with a fairly light aftertaste and lots of fizz. Bonus points for being $7 for a six pack at the Cambridge Trader Joe’s, this may be my favorite less-expensive beer.
3.5 Gold in color with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet grapefruit and a bit of lemon. Taste is the same with a light, floral, almost rosey note into the finish. Very clean and drinkable.
3.6 Pours a lager yellow-straw. Medium head with lots of lacing. Floral, piney hop nose. Good citrusy hop bite, slightly sweet malt backing. Soft carbonation, light body. Finishes crisp and slightly bitter. Solid session pale ale for only $1 a bottle. The Mission St stuff is way better than ther JosephsBrau lineup.
3.7 Pale yellow, Good Head, Lots Of Lacing. Pine Aroma. Pine Bitter up front while sweet malt and citrus hidden underneath. Light Body, Easy to Drink, Refreshing. Nice, Good One.
3.1 Aroma of floral hops and dish soap (not a negative descriptor here.) Clear yellow and still, looks like a golden ale or even lager. Pleasant citrus taste with just a hint of earthy rinds. It’s crisp but has a smooth overall body feel and light character that makes it worthy of long sessions. And for the low price, everyone should be drinking.
3.0 The look is clear, golden in color, with a little white head. The smell is hops, some bitterness, malts, floral, and caramel. The taste is lingering bitterness, floral, malt, caramel, and hops.
3.4 Draft @ Yard House, San Diego, CA. Pours a golden color with a white head. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy finish.
3.5 Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with an easily-resuscitated white head. The aroma picked up grapefruit and herbal notes over bready malts.. a touch malt-centric, but still well-balanced.. very approachable. The flavor found fresh lemon zest, grapefruit, and piney bitterness over soft biscuit and bready malts.. balance was solid, and it went down remarkably smoothly. Lighter-bodied with just enough carbonation to keep it moving through the palate.. this was some good stuff.
4.4 Pours a crystal clear light golden color. White head of 3/4 of and inch. Poor head retention. Wonderful bouquet of grapefruit and candied fruit. Average mouthfeel. Nice, clean grapefruit that yields to pine and finishes with candied fruit. Overtones of lemon citrus throughout. Very nice APA. A cheap beer from Trader Joe’s you say? Maybe, but Firestone Walker is responsible for this inexpensive gem.
3.3 Long Island, NY - 12 oz. from Trader Joe's, poured a clear amber color with a little white head. Aroma is hoppy with a unit of malt. Taste is pleasantly balanced and the hop finish is perfect for a Pale Ale. Only negative is a slight slight soapy aftertaste but it add "character". A six pack for $5.99, can't beat it, awesome bang for your buck.
3.7 12oz bottle. Pours a light clear melon orange with some white lacing. Aroma is spicy citrus. Flavor is light and refreshing malt sweetness, with a spicy hop finish. Very pleasant to drink and at a sessionable alcohol level.
3.7 This beer was a very good ale it was not to hoppy to make it an IPA nice and smooth.
3.8 12oz bottle pours clear gold with a thin nearly bright white head. The light aroma comes across rather vague with a sense of bitter hops and a wafer thin layer of sweet malts. Dang, this is a rather tasty Pale. It delivers a nice grapefruit like citrus bitterness to start and then picks up a tad of floral hops and a snippet of citrus hop flavor before a bit of sweet malts and a very faint amount of cereal graininess take this to the finish. It leaves behind a pleasing citrus after taste. Nice Pale. If I can find some fresh I’ll have to get more, but that’s the trick.
