Modern Times Blazing World

Modern Times Blazing World

Blazing World is an aggressively hoppy beer that shares characteristics with both double IPAs and amber ales. It’s hopped with an excessive quantity of Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, giving it an intensely fruity, dank hop aroma, followed by a huge & complex hop flavor and a healthy dose of bitterness. Its amber body is deceptively dry, offering just enough malt backbone to support its distinctive and incredibly robust hop character.

3.6 Leather nose. Clear amber, medium head. Peanut hull, sweet malt, dried leaves. Medium body, easy carbonation.
Droge afdronk. M: Medium body en medium carbonatie.
3.9 2/15/20 - Tallahassee Fl - Market Square Liquors - 16 oz can. Slight haze to the medium orange pour, frothy snow white head, nice lace. Fruity, nectarine-like aroma, touch of spearmint. Bold flavor, maple St, caramel, nectarine fruitiness, raw cake mix. Sticky, thick mouthfeel.
3.8 Sharp bright golden blonde pour with a soft haze and dense off white head. The aroma is very nice, white grapes, wild tropical fruit, candyish, fruit skins. Flavor has very similar notes. Hop quality seems concentrated. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed.
3.8 160z can. Pours a mostly clear amber-gold with a thick white fluffy head, dissipates to 1/4" with very sticky lacing. The aroma features bready-cereal grains accompanied by a vague suggestion of pineapple, mango, and burnt caramel. The flavor features piney-resiny hop elements along with caramel and toasted grain flavors. Frothy mouthfeel, medium body, and a medium to fairly dry finish. Satisfying, tasty, straightforward.
4.5 All time favourite flavours - piney and danky. Some fruits. West Coast style. Smooth and well balanced. Moderately bitter. Awesome.
3.6 Tap. Stone fruit aroma. Pour clear gold with little white head. Taste of grapefruit, melon, pine. Medium body. Light caramel and herbal finishing notes. Balance equally between juiciness and bitterness.
3.7 Large rocky white left a froth on a reddish orange still body. Hoppy, dank aroma. Medium bodied, well carbonated on the tongue with a clean dry back. Bitter orange, sugar, jam, pithy & hoppy tastes long tangy finish.
3.7 Taster showing pale amber with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of pine and pineapple. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Moderately intense notes of pineapple, grapefruit, and pine forward with a mild grapefruit, bitterness.
3.7 Can from Beer Republic. Aroma is piney and dank hops with biscuity malt, grapefruit, pine resin, caramel, and soft tropical notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Nice malt to hop ratio, good stuff!
3.9 [On tap at the first birthday party at the Encinitas outlet.] A straw coloured pour with a thin white head; gentle aroma of grapefruit, grape juice and thyme; smooth and malty in the mouth with a fruity bitterness; then a drier finish. Elegant and refreshing, a classy IPA.
4.1 Brewerkz IPA style with a crisper and tastier finish.
3.6 Poured from a 16 oz. can into a glass. Color is light amber and very clear. A small head forms, but quickly dissipates and leaves nice lacing. The aroma is decidedly hoppy, with noticeable grapefruit and peach coming through. Medium body, light on the palate, and with a moderately bitter finish.
4.3 From can (pkgd 23Apr) in tapered shaker. Pours slightly hazy orange-amber w/dense off white head, aroma of dank forest hops. Not much sweetness for a red but balanced bitterness, plenty of pine.
4.2 DATE: August 30, 2019... OCCASION: the first week of the 2019-20 school year is in the books, and it feels good to be in the new home for it... GLASSWARE: Victory Hop Devil nonick... this pours a honey orange-amber tint that bubbles lively throughout... its single-finger white head clumps staunchly, fringing evenly below the glass... lemon, pine, blueberry, raspberry, and dank basement, mix with toasted malts to create a punchy, sweet aroma... almost understated in its experience... its texture is smooth as a lager, yet medium-bodied and chewy at the teeth... its finish is dry as advertised, with a lingering woodiness that warms at the tongue... the berry, citrus, and dank resin blanket the tongue, its sweetness and tartness balanced in a drinking equilibrium that makes the high IBUs and nearly 7% a pleasure to experience... this is worth the rather high price tag, rewarding in its drinkability and weight.... my first Modern Times, courtesy of a mix box, takes the red ale and expands it into a hopped-up genre-bender...

3.8 Shaker pint The Bar in Mission, Kansas. The pour is slight haze clear orange copper golden with a frothy ½ inch white head that leaves nice lace. The aroma is dank floral earth sweet bread malt. The taste is the dank floral earth is really well integrated with the fresh bread malt. The palate is medium-bodied with soft natural carbonation and the dank soft bitter finish. Fresh and tasty.
4.2 平衡性很好,无缺点
4.0 Medium golden, not quite amber really. Mosaic pokes out on the nose. Palate smooth, balanced malt vs hop. Nice clean bitter finish! Lovely beer!
3.6 $3.25 pint can, Beer Run. Pours medium golden (not really amber) with a small off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit peel, resin, caramel, floral hops. Flavor is grapefruit peel, orange peel, caramel, pine, some other fruit. Tasty.
3.8 Pint can from State Line, not particularly fresh, on the order of 8-9 months old. Very striking, filling nose of dankish hops, touch caramel, resin; citrus (grapefruit, orange, lemon) and a touch soap. Pour clear amber, by which I mean a fiery golden base with orange leanings, and just a light haze, and a sudsy off-white head with lace. Taste medium-sweet, low bitterness, very low tang, a nice medium body with a mild underlayer of grit, caramel including sweetness, and fruit rind and pith, but no more astringency than one would find in a natural grapefruit. Some white grape, hint of the tropics (mango, principally), some crystalline, but that orange really rises the highest. Smooth and clean, no big alcohols, refreshes and cools, ooh there's some pine, but the big achievement here is the melding, just outstanding combination of disparate hop elements with the pleasant base, can't see the seams at all. Betcha a fresh one goes over four next time. [2019.05.05: 3.8]
3.5 Tap at the brewery in San Diego - deep dark amber color, beige head. kind of a hradcore amber ale. it has all the nice characteristics of an amber ale with a very full body and high abv. a bit too much for my liking here, great still.
3.0 Aroma: pine, tropical fruit, pineapple, lychee, tangerine Appearance: clear amber color with a two-finger beige head. Taste: pine, tropical fruits, pineapple, lychee, tangerine, caramel, medium sweetness, medium-high bitterness. Palate: medium body, medium carbonation, dry finish. Overall: pleasant combination of hop and Munich malt. It's a nice brew for ambers and is definitely better than those pure hop bombs.
3.5 16-ounce can pours slightly hazy golden orange with absolutely no head or lacing. Aroma: strong pine and some honey. Flavor: pine, indistinguishable citrus and tropical fruit mixture, honey, caramel, toast. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied, dry finish.
3.8 ● Bottle/Can Design: simple with mellow colors. The stripes on the bottom make it standout ● Enjoyment: I fuckin love it. It's not overwhelming, and has kinda very very low viscosity and fruity aftertaste that does not stick but lingers enough to enjoy in your mouth once you down a sip ● Reccomend: Hell yes! Perfect drink to introduce rookie IPA Drinkers or the Veteran IPA aficionado ● Music Pairing: I Never Came by QOTSA
3.9 12/23/18 (Las Vegas, NV): $3.78 16 oz.single can w/ tax canned 6/6/18 purchased at Total Wine & More in Summerlin, poured into a large snifter. Brown golden pour, heavy carbonation, light head and lacing. Very fruity hops aroma, lemon the predominant flavor, malty and bread aromas as well. Very dank fruity sweet taste, tastes like a nice ice tea with lemon, unique flavor. Light thin texture, carbonation lightens up quickly, Overall very good IPA.
3.6 On tap at Pizza Paradiso in Hyattsville, MD. Clear amber with a small off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of pine, toast, caramel and mild tropical fruit. Hoppy taste of pine, grapefruit, other citrus, caramel and a little herbal hops. Medium body and medium/high carbonation. Bitter, hoppy flavor, but more balanced aroma.
3.1 The canned on date here is June 7th so it's 6 months since and too old. Has a faint hop Aroma along with a bit of toffee malt. The first thing you notice is the robust carbonation with a little sweet Turning to bitter in the mid and finish. Some oxidized hops come through. Would be nice to know what it's like fresh.
