Moeder Overste

Moeder Overste

Moeder Overste is a triple beer with 8% alcohol content. With its full, strong taste, it is possibly one of the best brews produced by Lefébvre. Flanders and the Netherlands have been able to appreciate this heavenly beer for the last 15 years.
Moeder Overste has a golden hue and is perfumed with spices, wood and fruit flavours mixed with malt to produce a fine bitterness.

It can be served cold at 5°C or with the chill taken off at 10°C, depending on one’s taste. Enjoy.

Intensywne i pijalne, świetny przykład wyśmienitego triple'a.
5.0 Mijn favoriet amber bier. Typisch zwaar zomerbier. Fruitig, koreander, mout...
3.4 Flesje gedronken tijdens feestje.
3.6 Bottle from Beers of Europe. Light brown pour with good head that lasts nicely. Sweet malt, some alcohol, a little banana, yeast. Nice beer.
3.3 Bottle, 500 ml. Impressive dark amber light copper colour, off-white foam, stays on thp thin. The aroma is very complex, caramel dominant sweetness, roasted malt and cooked spicy, ripe apricot (or rather pineapple) with some wet roasted wood inside. The smell is way more better than the taste, unfortunately there's something faint disturbing, kind of metallic taste in the aftertaste which makes the palate less perfect. Not really obvious, but it's there. Overall, it's an enjoyable Tripel, definitely worth to try.
3.1 Large creamy fizzy white head. Excellent lacing. Mostly diminishing. Sparkling hazy dark-golden body. Aroma: moderate malt, light hoppy, citrus orange, metallic. Initial flavor: moderate sweet. Final flavor: light bitter sweet; long duration. Palate: light medium body, dry texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. dulçor laranja, sabor MUITO metálico, media condimentadação de lúpulo no paladar, no final percebe-se o perfil maltado, 70 s
3.5 Golden, clear. A bit of yeastines in the aroma, together with dried fruit. Taste has fruit and some species bu also a metallic touch. Taste fades quickly.
3.4 A decent Belgian Ale, not even too strong for a Tripel, well-balanced. Like.
3.5 Frothy white head stayed on a finely carbonated, dark golden coloured body. Yeast, banana & caramel aroma. Medium to full bodied. Very sharp on the palate. Dry & clean on the back. Citrus, tea, red berries, orange, over stewed, spices, fruit & jam. Strange to be called a Tripel. Reminds me of Strong English IPA. Decent nevertheless. Worth a dabble
2.7 330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours clear gold, large fluffy white head. Aroma is soft yeasty, lightly sweet. Taste is lightly sweet, lightly herbal with full carbonation. Can’t work out if it’s my palate but the beer seems to struggle to wake up and provide the bright yeasty sweet flavour I was expecting. Has fleeting bready, candy sugar elements but dries out before they can really blossom. Bit disappointing really.
2.5 Aroma of ripe fruit, ananas above all, then yellow fruit and some cereal at last. You might think it’s good but there’s actually something unpleasant in it I can’t explain... something like rotten fruit. Magnificent golden color, very clear. Sweet, medium body, oily, lively, the same unpleasant feel of rotten fruit, astringent finish. Maybe it’s the worst tripel I’ve ever tasted. Do a favor to yourself: dont’ buy it.
4.1 Pours hazy amber with a cloudy stable white head. Malty aroma with fruity tones. Orange, citrus... Bit acidic as well. Tastewise, it is mildly sweet and light, with a faint yeasty touch. Clear presence of the fruits, with a mildly hopbitter touch in the aftertaste. It ends smoothly dry, yet there is a small spicy kick present. Bit warmish as well. Not that groundbreaking, but definitely well-made. Sticky texture, full bodied and lively carbonated. In general, this is quite good. Despite the 8% abv. this is quite a soft and smooth brew.
3.9 33cl bottle. At home. Nice white head. Fruit, citrus, sweet. More a try than a buy.
3.0 Hoog in koolzuur wat meteen opvalt. Zacht zoetje.
3.5 F: big, off-white, long lasting. C: deep gold to amber, hazy. A: malty, overripe fruits, peach, caramel, hint of cheese, yeast. T: malty, orange peels, yeasty, fruity, dusty, candy sugar, good balanced, medium full body, good carbonation, 33cl bottle from Prik&Tik /Quali-drinks/ in Brussels.
3.5 Bottle, 33cL. Home. A golden clear orange beer ; fizzy ; big white foamy head ; good retention and lacing. Herbal note, fruits (citrus), biscuit, roast, sugar. Light to medium sweet, medium dry bitter refreshing, light warming background. Overall, enjoyable.
3.2 Fruitig biertje. Leuk om eens te proberen. De afdronk is mooi. Al met al bijzonder Belgisch bier.
3.5 Bronze, clear white foam. Mild aroma jólaöl. Sweet, tofee, molassis, with bitter aftertaste.
