Molson Golden

Molson Golden

Molson Brewmasters have created a new standard in smoothness with Molson Golden. Each batch is brewed with pure spring water and features a unique two part hopping procedure. Galena hop essences are added in the brewing kettle, followed by the addition of a patented, mild hop after fermentation.

2.2 Bottle to shaker glass, pours pale straw yellow, one finger quick white head. Some lacing with slight retention. Aroma of biscuit and grass. Taste is sweet with just a hint of bitterness. Light bodied, fizzy carbonation, watery mouth feel. Finishes dry. Tasting notes of cereal grains, grass, slight skunk and bread. Better than most American pale lagers but that’s not saying much.
3.4 Quite normal. Refreshing and thin but not so heavy as many golden beers. Sweet and with that honeyed taste of Canadian beers.
2.3 Not bad. A little sweet and definitely refreshing. Not the best but better than Budweiser, Miller, or most other American swill. Would have some again.
1.9 Clear yellow. Very bubbly big head. Mostly grain like and bitter. No beer flavor a other than grain. Only very light hops, but mostly bitter for light beer.
1.9 bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear pale golden color, white head, waves of lace, lots of rising carbonation. Aroma is the corn and light malt aroma consistent with most "big box" beers. Taste is minimal malt and a strong shot of adjunct that moves quickly through the palate to a finish that has a pinch of hops and a tiny bit of sour. Not so much bad, as it is uninteresting.
2.9 12pz bottle pours a clear pale golden/yellow with a large white head. Aroma of dry grassy hops, bordering on skunky, grain and dry malt. Mellow taste of corn grain and malt, dry tasting yeast and mild grassy hops. Not a bad lager.
2.2 This is a sub-average beer, but not too bad.....drinkable. More of a daytime, lawnmower beer. I prefer it to the American lagers, but still would rather have Molson Ice, or their Export Ale....or better yet, Labatts Blue!
2.4 12oz bottle pours crystal clear golden yellow with medium head. Nose is faint lemon, grain, corn, cereal. Taste is watery cornbread, corn flakes, cereal, cracker, mild bitterness. No real hops outside of a whisper of lemon you really have to dig for. Finish is mild bitter corn flakes, watery, a hint of apple. Not good, not bad, not anything, it’s just...nothing. Corn water.
1.8 Bottle from wegmans. Pours a golden color with a white head, poor retention. Aromas of grassy hops and cereals. Taste is semi sweet. Flavors of corn and grass. Thin.
2.0 Pours pale yellow with a thin, fizzy head that's mostly gone in 10-15 seconds. Faint cider-like scent. Taste is sweet. Thin, fizzy beer. Drinkable, but not remarkable.
1.6 " can be a decent, crisp beer when it’s not skunky, but unfortunately that it not very often. not enough good to overcome this. not at all recommended."
4.2 Liked the aroma and the flavor was consistent with each one. A pleasant beer to have at the end of the day and/or with friends. No bite to it.
2.4 Gold straw. Two inch white head dissipates quickly. Typical adjunct aroma of corn, grass, some light malt. Flavor of light hops and corn. Finishes sweet with grass and more light hops. Not bad for an adjunct lager but not something I would really ask for given another choice.
2.4 12 oz bottle from Cash Wise in Williston. Appearance: two fingers white head, straw color, clear, light lacing. Aroma: grass, light fruit, leaves, biscuits. Palate: light body, average to soft carbonation, light bitter finish, light dry finish. Taste: light sweet biscuity malt and light grassy bitter hops at the end. Overall, drinkable, refreshing, but really just a beer. Good for what it is though.
2.2 I’ve always said that this is stale left over Molson Canadian, nothing special going on here. Not a bad beer on a hot day, this one is a little harder to find further away from Canada, so I just stick with the more readily available Molson Canadian or Labatt’s Blue when I feel like letting the Canadian Flag fly (I’m originally from the boarder).
3.1 It’s the Budweiser of Canada. Not a bad beer but there is better. Goes good with watching Hockey.
2.0 From a keg. Golden in color with little head retention. Very subtle aromas of grass and sweet malt. Slight sweet flavors upfront that finish with muted citrus and a bit of biscuit. Very light mouthfeel with a dry finish. Not horrible. There are worse beers.
1.8 Bottle at my uncle’s. Aroma is light corn, bread crust, and noble hop. Pours amber with a nice fizzy foamy head. Taste is clean grains, caramel, and a light malt body. Good tasty pale lager. Enjoyed this more than I thought I would.
2.6 Here’s one of those after hockey beers that I stole to take home to analyze because of my OCD behavior. Here’s my take. Into a pint glass, the appearance was a super light yellow to golden amber color with a decent half finger-ed white foamy head. The smell had some roasted corn huskiness to it. The taste was semi-sweet and showed a semi-decent crisp grassiness about it. The palate sat fairly light and showed a great deal of sessionability about this one. Overall, this is just another AAL. Cheers.
1.5 If you’re drinking Canadian go with labatt. Nothing special here. Goes down easy though
1.7 Not bad for a canadian beer. This is the first beer I ever drank so I always enjoy it.
2.0 Yellow fizzy pour with a head that disappears pretty quick. Grainy & slightly skunky aroma but with a surprising & almost shocking odd but not unpleasant taste. This is a different pale lager with a sharp alcohol and slightly odd grainy / hoppy taste. Very dry and full of adjuncts, this does not have any ale characteristics as claimed and the finish is a very flat beer type boozy. Not a typical pale lager, reminds me of an Ice party beer.
2.2 Bottle (Old Notes)-Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma of corn, malt, and slight hops. Taste of mostly malt with some slight hops thrown in. This light bodied brew is what it is and is not bad compare to the other Canadian Pale Lagers.
2.4 Hockey fans are a rare breed, watch "the code" commercials. "You know the sippy cup lid isn’t as stupid as it sounds..." This is a hockey beer, good, delicious, and meant for watching hockey. Your generic golden.
0.8 in same class as every other mass produced swill on the market...sucks...sucks...sucks..
2.4 Can poured into pilsner glass. Clear golden color, with large head that dissipates quickly. Strong carbonation, hoppy taste. Nothing special. Above average light beer. Beats Budweiser, Miller, and Coors.
3.0 Bottle @ home tossed via courtesy of BlackIPA. Tasted during the Pussypete presents Molson/Labatt Grand Tasting 2013 in my parent’s basement. Cheers! Pours a clear yellow appearance with a creamy white head. Big sweet corn, lemon, sweet grainy, a touch tangy, fairly inoffensive aroma. Decent body. Lots of corned candy, cotton candy, and bubblegum. Fucken easy chugger.
1.7 Bottle at home. Pours clear pale gold with a medium, frothy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is Pils malt and corn, light rice notes with earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Light body and moderate carbonation
1.4 (bottle) A nostalgic selection for Mike’s 50th birthday golf outing. Tastes similar to what I remember back in the day... tart with good dose of skunk. Nice memories.
3.1 12oz bottle from Party Town. Shared with Jstax. Clear golden color. Minimal web of white head. Couple bits of lace. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. Bready, peppery flavor. Moderate bitter finish, light sweet. Above average kolsch style lager. [I was getting pretty buzzed at the point in the night when I tasted this, but I remember finding it to be surprisingly good and kolschy]
