3.0 Not too shabby at all. Clean and crisp, aromas of toast, hay and slight hints of caramel. Taste includes the same plus a drop of apple. Good meat and potatoes ale.
2.6 Deep orange brown pour. Nutty aroma, taste follows with lightly floral notes. Thin. Not good.
2.8 ok, this is an everyman beer, it’s nothing special or different or outstanding, it is peaky and edgy around points that are sharp, better, sweet and tangy. There is no craft in this, but the do this week in week out, for a day beer it’s not shabby, but it’s not a beer you should boast about
2.6 From a bottle. Not too bad but not their best stuff, a little bland, mild hops, sessionable.
3.1 Ambar tirando a oscura de aroma acaramelado. Dulce y ligera en boca, y final lupulado frutal. Equilibrada y bien hecha.
2.8 bottle:poures a small head that dissipates quickly. dark amber color , Mild toasty aroma of malt. , medium bitter taste .
2.3 330 mil bottle no real aroma amber with white head taste is meh malty no hops average
2.5 Drinkable enough but nothing special. Dark brown with thin head. Aroma of light oats and hazelnuts. Taste is thinLr without much bitterness. Finish quite short. Really a session beer with only 3% alcohol
2.5 On tap in Te Anau. Amber in color, unsurprisingly. Faint nose, underwhelming taste, but easy to drink. And quite refreshing, after a long day on the road.
3.0 bottle pours dark amber with a mild malty aroma the taste is crisp balanced mild bitter malty flavours nothing outstanding but very sessionable
3.1 Draft, 11/8/2014. Dark amber copper pour, sparkling, solid foam head. Aroma is light straw and biscuit, fresh grass, soft melon hops. Taste is amber malts, mild toast and light grassy finish. Light body. Decent, but nothing special I think.
2.9 35 cl bottle from Wellcome in Hong Kong, 4%. Light brown color, clear, small fine offwhite head, mineral and spicy nose. Aroma is brown sugar, some fruity overtones with leaves. Taste is flat, some sweetness and a subtle bitterness. Carbonated, light bodied, dusty texture, uncertain finish with a caramel leftover.
2.3 330 ml bottle bought at Great Food hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty during the ‘New Zealand food festival’ promotion. Clear dark amber copper colour; Razor-thin head and residual soapy off-white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Very good sticky lacing with active carbonation; Sweet aroma of dark malt, with caramel, sugar, light assorted dark fruits, bread, biscuit, and faint grass; Very light sweet taste of light dark malt, with very light caramel, hint of Cola, light bread, hint of lime, faint bitter hops and light grass; Light body, thin but slick palate; Mouth feel is straight forward thin dark malt - pretty nicely roasted with further sips - in a thin but pretty slick body. Thin caramel, slight Cola taste. Decent breadyness, not much hops and almost no sweetness. Okay… Hoppiness - nose, taste and bitterness - are minimal for a very undemanding muted malty non-finish; Fairly after taste, very easy to mouth. Comments: This one is very easy and undemanding just like James Squire Nine Tales Amber Ale. Unlike the latter, though, this one has some underlying thicker body, good lacing and slightly better roastyness. All in all an easy refreshment for supper. Drinkable.
2.9 Clear amber beer, small and persistent head, grain malty aromas, not too hoppy, sweet taste good overall balance, watery finish, but a nice one.
2.4 On tap @ Shakespears’, Auckland. At least I think it was at Shakespears’.New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. The aroma has grains, some grass. Clear, copper/amber coloured beer with a slight off-white head. The taste is bland, sweet malty, light grassy. Watery mouthfeel. Quite some carbonation. Boring.
2.1 Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht malzig, fruchtig. Geschmack malzig, leicht fruchtig, Karamell.
2.6 Bottle@Earl Ferrers, Streatham - amber pour with medium white head. Toasty malty, grassy hops, slight caramel, toffee, nutty, pretty basic overall.
2.4 OLD NOTES JAN 5, 2004 A really light dark malt scent on it, almost undetectable without a good sniff. Pours a clean deep ruby amber colour. A caramel malt body. A few little candy sweet characters, but quite watery overall. Also a fair bit of carbonation in the mouth. I’m quite disappointed.
2.6 Bottle from Booths. Deep copper-amber but next to no head. Has a light malt aroma with a good character to it without being full of flavour.
3.3 On tap at the brewery in Greymouth, NZ Excellent clarity in this deep amber ale. Both flavor and aroma are a bit light for style; the lightest pale ale I’ve had in NZ. Still, very well-crafted and balanced, as well as very fresh (of course). Feel: Light+ body with medium-high, very crisp carbonation. Clean finish. O: recommended as a somewhat light flavored pale ale.
3.1 Mild and solid one. Some hops with a decent malty background. Hints if caramel and balanced carbo. Quaffy, classy piwo.
3.0 The head is ok, the body amber. It smells hoppy, intensive, maltaromatic. The taste is malty, mild, bit hoppy, bit fruity.
3.1 Pours out of the bottle in a clear deep amber colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of nuts and caramel. Taste of honey, caramel, torf, malt, hops and flowers. Hints of nuts. Easy and nice to drink - quaffable.
2.1 Ale dark ambar colour with a thin head. Poor malt aroma without interesting notes. Taste is poor malt and some caramel, not intense. Watery body
2.9 Very malty aroma, no hops on the nose at all. Nice dark amber-brown colour, creamy head. Very malty flavour, a bet sweet, very smooth. Couldn’t taste any hops at all. Slightly thin, but not too bad. Good beer for having a few on a weekend, or to throw back at the pub. Wouldn’t miss it if it disappeared.
2.7 Bottle. Medium white head with okay retention. Amber body. Nose is malt, hops, wheat and yeast. Light bitterness. Dry finish. I like the style, which is that of an English bitter, but this is average.
2.6 Bottle - Bungalow 8, Auckland. Poured a clear, deep copper-amber with a fine, slowly fading off-white head. Mid-fruits, leafy, grassy-ish hops, some toasty-ish malt. Light to medium body, medium carbonation and a short, low intensity bitterness.
1.4 it was better than the tui, because it has a bit more of a malt base. that’s it.
2.8 Kopparfärged med vitt skum. KAramellig och maltig i doften, lite jordig humlekaraktär.
