3.3 A pleasant offering, a bit of a surprise from this brewery (which I think of as specializing in lagers). Pours cloudy orange, fluffy persistent white head. Definitely more of a floral (as opposed to citrus) IPA, both on the nose and palate. Very dry finish. Not bad, but not notable either.
3.5 Cask @ Toronado, SF. Yellow amber, fine white 1cm head. Smooth and tasty. Caramel fades, huge green hops. Big taste, with modest ABV. Nice.
2.5 "i wasn’t too impressed with this one at all in the midst of a good IPA line-up. the thick head and lacing stayed put, so the look was intruiging, but it was pretty one dimensional, like a decent homebrew, had a weakish hop aroma (especially comparatively) and was slightly bitter."
3.9 Cask. Moderate roasted grain and caramel for the malt, moderate to heavy grapefruit for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with dried fruit in the background. Head is average size, frothy/creamy, white with excellent crusty lacing and is fully lasting. Color is clear amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly acidic with a lengthy heavy bitterness. Palate is medium, oily with a soft carbonation and has a very dry finish. The hand drawn aspect of this IPA really did put it over the top.
3.0 Draft @ Toroando, SF. Was it fair that I sampled a Fresh Squeezed right before this? No, it was not. This beer has a weak herbal hop note and lots of caramel/ sweet malt. Reminds me of a English IPA or bitter. The malt is the main character and really not much in the way of bitterness or real hop flavors. Overly sweet, tastes like an old American Pale ale that has sat around to long. I will not remember this.
2.9 Draft at Flavor. Draft at some place that ran out of malt liquor drafts. Nose is very floral with a light lemon citrus character. Taste is immediately bitter with a pithy character. Unpleasantly sharp. Too much bad bitterness
2.6 On tap in Santa Rosa. Slightly hazy golden with a foamy, off white head. Aroma is very floral and soapy. Harshly bitter flavor, again that is very soapy. Some slight citrus. Green hops. Eh. I really didn’t like this one.
3.3 On tap. Pale golden pour, small white head. Malty nose, notes of citrus. Mainly malty taste. On the light side of IPA’s, not a favourite. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.5 leggermente ambrata buona schiuma floreale agrumato resinoso amaro intenso secca
3.5 Keg at Flavor, Santa Rosa, 28/04/14. Hazed orange amber with a god sized off white head that thins then retains. Nose is toasted malt, bitter orange, citric peel, grassy, light grapefruit. Taste comprises pink grapefruit, orange pith, straw, toasty malts, citric peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close laced with hop bitterness. Decent enough IPA - easy drinking and a good balance, no world beater though.
4.3 A- Golden, straw yellow hue with a foamy off white head that coats the glass as it goes down. S- Pine, grass, herbal T- Slightly herbal, biscuity with pine notes that lead into a huge wave of bitter piney hops. M- Medium bodied with medium carbonation. D- This was a fantastic IPA and frankly i’m surprised it’s not rated higher.
3.4 On cask at Toronado, February 2014. (my first one from this brewery) Clear light amber with a small white head. Aroma and taste of grass, citrus, caramel and some pineapple. Easy to drink and quite refreshing.
2.7 Cloudy burnt orange. 1 finger fluffy head. Sticky. Orange peels nose. Lots of oranges there’s that moonlight astringency that’s very easy to detect. It has a robittusin finish.
3.4 On cask at Toronado San Francisco, pours a clear golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, herbal notes, and toasted bread. Flavour brings out herbal hops, English malts, and toasted rye herbal bread. Very soft on the palate, due to the cask pour. Pretty strong herbal hops dominate this. Solid stuff.
3.6 On tap at the trappist. Pours dark copper with white head. Aroma was old hops, dirty socks. Taste was extremely bitter that left a burn hop taste lingering for hours. One of the most bitter beers I’ve had. An I love my hops
3.5 Cask to pint glass A little funky, a little sour cherry, oats. Slightly cloudy amber, creamy head, lots of lacing. Taste is hoppy and a little sour, nice light malt.
3.3 Draught @ Toronado, San Francisco, CA Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, biscuit, citrus, grape and grass. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with a long bitter and grassy finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

3.3 On tap at Toronado. A clear one, dark golden in color, topped by a small, white head. The aroma is on the hoppy side, with peaches and some pine cones. The flavor is pretty much the same, mostly on the hoppy side, with some malts. Medium body, very soft carbonation. Mostly bitter finish. A very subtle beer, and quite tasteful. 130804
3.5 On tap at Toronado San Francisco. Very solid IPA. Nothing revolutionary, but done right.
3.7 On tap at Flavor in Santa Rosa. Pour is slightly hazy golden color with a big white head and great lacing. Grassy, weedy, lightly floral, piney, biscuity, straw, and earthy aroma. Taste is weedy, resinous, lightly piney, grapefruity, a touch of fruit peel, and biscuit with a medium bitter finish. Light body with medium carbonation. Clean malt profile and very hoppy, yet very well-balanced. Nice stuff.
3.4 pint, hand pull, at Toronado SF. good.aroma, sweet. yeasty. soft orangy citrus, mild funk about it, kind of bready. tad hazed copper oranbe color. good head and lace. bitter flavor. medium body. creamy mouthfeel. bitter finish. good, though guessing hand pull mutes some of the aroma. bitter, but not overpowering. solid.
3.7 Pours amber with a white head. Good hop aroma. Pine, grass, malt. Bitter with a malty finish. Decent IPA.
3.9 On cask at Toronado. Nice hoppy aroma. Fresh and grassy, caramel, and toasted malt. Pale golden amber clear with thin rocky-foamy white lacing head. Medium body with cask carbonation. Starts medium dry with some caramel and roasted malty character. Tons of hop flavor and bitterness from start to finish, though not completely overpowering. Nice cask IPA.
3.7 Cask at Toronado. Clear gold pour with a short white head leaving heavy lace. Nose is citrus hops with some sweet malt and heat. Medium body with low levels of fine carbonation (cask). Pine, caramel, citrus, booze, tropical fruit, birch and toast. Finish is a bit more bitter, but the main aromas are aromatic hops. Cut the ethanol aromas down and this is glorious.
3.0 No foam pale gold, Bit of a homebrew Character. Good hop balance to mellow it out
4.0 From cask at Toronado SF. Classic IPA look with a nice orange hazy color and a off white head. Aroma is weed, pine, birchwood, VERY dank. Taste is lively tree, birch, weed, pine, earthy. Unlike any other IPA I’ve had before! Very nice!
3.7 On tap at Hopmonk, Sabastol location. Medium mouthfeel, well hopped IPA. Lacey on medium coloured body. Decent drinkability. Tasty hop melange. Hoppy aromas.
3.6 Tap. Pours clear amber with a small off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, passionfruit, a bit of weed. Flavor is about the same plus caramel, lightly sweet, medium bitterness lasting through the finish. Light to medium body, quite oily in the mouth.
3.7 Cask @ Toronado, San Francisco. Pours a copper colour with a strong creamy and lacy head. Aroma of malts, grass and and strong lemony bitterness. Flavour of toasted malts, rich and very high lemony bitterness, nuts and some alcohol. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a long, warming and very high bitter finish. Great.
