Moor Hoppiness

Moor Hoppiness

Cask, Special;

What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

3.8 From tap at Biercafe Au Trappiste, Bern. Very hazy orange color with a white head. The aroma is medium hoppy and lightly malty with notes of grapefruit, pine, bread, biscuit, oats and some peach. Medium body with a light sweetness and a light to medium bitterness. The flavor is medium hoppy with grapefruit, orange, white grapes, some pine, some resin and lightly malty - bread, hints of biscuit. Finishes with medium resinous hoppy bitterness. 3.6 Ambar, ligera turbidez.
3.4 Tap YNWA, Kolding. Cloudy golden, tiny white head. Mild peachy, slightly soapy aroma. Bittersweet flavour, peach, dry grapefruit, smooth malt. Ok.
3.3 Draught at the Woodworkers as a sampler. Understated in all respects. Just a bit muted. Got better as it warmed.

4.0 Frescor brutal en una IPA com una casa de pagès. Fàcil de beure però alegre i atrevida, l'he gaudit molt
3.7 Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a nice white foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops notes with light cereal notes is pleasant. Taste is also a good mix of citrusy hops notes with some nice cereal notes and a dry finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well balanced with limited bitterness and a dry finish.
3.4 Can from Cotteridge Wines. Murky light brown with huge lasting foamy white head. Big fruity, pine hop aroma. Taste is way more subtle than I was expecting, malts, gentle fruit, citrus bitterness, slight alcohol kick, moderate carbonation.
3.6 330ml can (out of date), poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru stemmed tulip at home on 23rd Feb 2018. Slight haze to the orange/amber body, white speckled topping. Hops all over the brew, bittering and piney, because this is not fresh the citrusy flavours mentioned by others appear to have disappeared somewhat to leave a more 'dank' hop feel to the mellow beer. The malts give out more sweetness than others have indicated also, pleased about that! Really enjoyed this, I wonder if I would enjoy a fresh one as much?
3.5 Can. White head. Masses of citric grapefruit and pine resin hops. Lemon. Lime. Rhubarb. Aniseed. Bitter and alkaline. Dry finish.
3.3 Color oro con schiuma poco persistente. Aromi floreali e note erbacee sia al naso che al palato con struttura di malto
4.2 Pint in beer moth Manchester. great pour, lovely dank and cloudy. Wonderful dank and fresh hoppy flavour. Best mouth fee of a beer - thick and smooth but not too much. A cracker.

3.2 Draught@William K. Murky golden color, airy white head. Citric hop aroma. Smooth, hoppy flavor. Medium body, medium carbonation. Not bad.
3.3 Straight forward, modern, clean; had a million of these before. Impeccable balance. I know I am being picky, this is good beer, but I have been assaulted by IPA on this Spanish trip and I'm only 40% of the way in!
3.5 0.33 l can. Thanks Višnja 666 and Pilot Goran. Murky golden, medium off-white head. Moderate to heavily hoppy, fruity, light earthy. Toasty malts. Bitterness low. Very nice citrus notes develop in flavour. Medium body, soft to moderate carbonation, light finish. Nice, nothing special.
