3.4Rami Rami is drinking an Old Freddy Walker by Moor Beer Company at Jabeerwocky
Melano, intensywna przypieczona skorka od raziwca w uscie. W aromacie duzo mniej intensywnie. W tle jakies ciemne owoce? Nieco przyprawowosci? Ciekay klasyk, i ryli najsik niemaly for mi
3.6Dark, Opaque, Tan Beerhead with few and flat foam, low retention. Strong chocolate aroma, and also other malty characters, such as dark caramel, toffee, roasted bread, licorice, vanilla, slightly spruce branch. Strong sweetness, smooth, Medium bitterness, soft carbonation. The taste is complicated, but similar to the aroma. Overall, this old ale has various and multiple flavors with the beer from cold to cool.
3.7On keg at the Grove, Huddersfield, thick dark ale, with a biege head that collapsed quickly. Excellent espresso, roast malt flavours, but a tad over carbonated, imagine would be awesome on cask
3.7Puszka . W zapachu dużo czekolady, gorzkiej i ciemnej, w tle susz owocowy ,słód ,karmel i owoce leśne. W smaku wytrawne nuty gorzkiej ciemnej czekolady, ziarna kakao i lukrecja, nuty ciastek ,suszu owocowego, pralinek.
3.5Can 33cl, a dark brown beer with medium head. Nose on toasted nuts, espresso, spice, roasted caramel. Aroma on roasted coffee, licorice, some resin, lot of roasted malt, some pine notes, ok but a bit sharp.
3.5Tap @ Molen w dutch friends. Appearance: pours clear dark brown with ok tan soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, bread, caramel, chocolate, nuts, herbal, light berries and earthy notes. palette: medium malty aroma, average carbonation, medium body, medium sweetness, balanced by a medium bitterness, average duration and an oily texture. Overall: Relative thin aroma, but quite tasteful
3.8Tap. Black color with beige head. Aroma is dark malts, chocolate, intense. Taste is chocolate, dark malts, lightly earthy-hebal. Bitter finish. Quite thick oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Good!
3.6Keg at Moor Vaults 07/09/19. Sweet malty aroma. Dark and glossy. Thin creamy beige head. Light bitter with a dark fruity edge. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat. Long low key finish. Nice.
3.9Pours black with a very firm tan head, great lacing. Malty vinous aroma, notes of chocolate fudge. Thick and viscous to the palate, quite sweet attack, vinous, supermalty, chocolaty. Herbal hops stop the cake abruptly, though, shifting to a dry and bitter finish. Very solid and balanced ale, a good sipper.
3.3Bottle. Dark brown color. Caramel, soft vinous notes in the aroma. Malty sweet, caramelly vinous flavor.
3.7Aroma: toffee, chocolate fudge, dried dark fruit
Appearance: hazy very dark brown color with a two-finger brown head.
Taste: toffee, chocolate fudge, dried dark fruit, high sweetness, medium bitterness
Palate: medium-full body, low carbonation, bittersweet finish, booziness
Overall: sweet, syrupy, and tastes like a fruit cake with toffee or a doppelbock with slightly more fruitiness.
4.0Can from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Pours hazy black with a small, slowly thinning, beige head. Aroma of toast, biscuit, milk chocolate, caramel, candied fig & dates, kahlua, mocha, prune. Taste is medium to heavy malty sweet, biscuity & caramelly character enveloping notes of prune, fig, dates & faint banana, nutty edge with a slightly bitter, herbal & toasty accent. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering toast, biscuit, dried dark fruits, some warming but subtle liqueur alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Great stuff, very Christmassy & traditional.
3.8Draught

Appearance-black, hazy, minimal head

Palate-medium body, sticky, average carbonation, long finish
Overall-very good
3.4Draft at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours pitch black with brown limited foam, very fine. Aroma is coffee, cocoa nibs. Body is average, smooth, with moderate but tickling carbonation. Taste is moderately in both sweetness and bitterness, with the roasty dimension dominating. Finish is pretty clean and relatively short.
3.8Can from Just In Beer, Groningen. Lovely toasted caramel malt aroma with toffee, milk chocolate, notes of dried fruits, soft fudge and liquorice root. Medium sweet flavour, lightly bitter. Body is medium. Very drinkable and easy Old, the malts really shine here.
3.5Sampled from a 330ml can ordered from the brewery via EEBRIA. Near black with a dark tan head, the same colour as an espresso coffee. Sweet taste with a note of acetaldehyde. Also a flavour of brandy and green apple. Slightly strange taste. Quite prominent hit of alcohol. Slightly oily mouthfeel and low carbonation. Tasty, but not very well balanced.
3.7Cask at Cambridge Winter Beer Fest: Poured a dark brown with a tan color head. Aroma is sweet malt and silky milk chocolate. Taste was rich caramel, roasted malt, nice blend and coffee bitterness in finish.
3.7Bottle.
Black with a medium light brown head. Aroma of dried fruits, wooden barrels and coffee. Sweet, light bitter with a warm wooden barrels and dried fruits end.
4.1Can from Cotteridge Wines. Rich dark brown, long lasting tan head. Aroma dried fruit, taste figs, dates and sultanas, with some balancing bitterness. Medium carbonation. Very nice.
3.916/11/2018. Cask at the Cambridge Winter Beer Festival 2018. Pours very dark brown with a bubbly beige/tan head. Aroma is of rich chocolate and dark fruits with light spices. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Full bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Luxurious feel to finish. Very good.
4.0Aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, dried fruits, nuts, wood, licorice, soy sauce and leather. Deep brown to black with a tan head. Medium + sweet and medium bitter. Medium + body with average carbonation. Dry and bitter finish. Overall a brilliant Old Ale. Rich and well balanced flavour.
3.7On tap at Zagreb Craft Beer Week, 2017. Dark brown, small off-white head. Roasted malts, chocolate, wood. Dry, although there are hints of sweetness under there. Strong, soft, dry finish. Very nice.
3.4330 ml can @Bumble Inn, Peterborough, bb 19/09/2020.
Black, light beige head.
Nose & taste - semisweet, some dark fruit. Interesting chocolate/cocoa notes in taste and especially aftertaste. Smooth.
4.3Bottle. Color: Almost black, dense and long lasting very light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, liquorice, dark red fruit. Taste: Dark roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, coffee, dried dark red fruit, blackcurrant, fruit cake. Over medium sweet, moderate bitter, slightly sour. Slightly boozy. Bit sirupy, oily, creamy and sticky mouthfeel. Over medium to full body, soft carbonation. Typical English. Rich and heavy as Christmas Pudding, a very nice Old Ale.
3.8Can from CW. Pours almost pitch black with a tiny ring of tan foam. Aroma of raisin and brandy. Taste is complex; fruit cake, sherry, black currant sourness, quite familiar for some reason. Slightly burnt bitter finish with alcohol present but not overwhelming. Delicious.
4.1W aromacie ciemne, melanoidynowe, lekko czekoladowe i może rumowe. Barwa ciemnobrązowa, przejrzyste, piana beżowa, ale szybko znika. W smaku głównie melanoidynowe, słodowe. Oprócz tego czekoladowe. Majaczy też posmak rumu, czy innego szlachetnego alkoholu. Finish jest mocno palony i lekko alkoholowy. Takie piwo pomiędzy stoutem a porterem.
