Moosbacher Kellerbier

Moosbacher Kellerbier

Dark golden- brown hue. Pours with a foamy white head. Spicy aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with a creamy mouthfeel and dry, toasty finish showing a hint of hop character.
An all natural dark beer which is brewed from an old recipe handed down from our ancestors.
It’s fine filtered, spiced with the finest of hops and lavish malt.
It has a full bodied aroma.
Pours with a nice foam-like head.

2.6 Bottle. Clear orange amber with a small bubbly head. Aroma of hay, bread and yeast. Sweet malty flavors, soapy notes, light herbal bitterness. Light-medium-bodied, light carbonation. Drinkable, but not very exciting.
2.3 "Meh. One I’ve passed on probably a hundred times but decided to give it a shot. Decent spicy yeast character and a touch of hops, but also some biscuit malt (which doesn’t go well here) and dare I say a touch of cardboard. Add the slight over-carbonation and there’s just not a whole lot to get excited about here."
2.8 Bottle: Pours iced coffee color, with a non-persistent head. Malt-forward aroma, the palate is kind of dead: slightly carbonated tea flavor. Overall, I haven’t tried other brands in this category, but if they taste the same, I am not into the Kellerbier style.
3.5 (bottle) clear honey amber colour with a small white head; slight aroma of caramel; light, refreshing balanced flavour with a medium long light bitter finish; very nice
1.7 pours hazy almost dirty light brown with a small off-white cap, little retention, no lacing. old caramel, grape juice, figs, nutty and peppery fruitiness, grass, dirt and earthy notes. moderate carbonation, light body - watery, relatively dry caramel-grassy-chalky finish. off-caramel. earthy. garbagy.
3.3 Pours mahogany into a stein. White head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Molasses and dark nut aromas. Soft with molasses, toffee and caramel upfront turning to a mildly bitter abrupt finish.
2.9 Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, getreidig, blumig. Geschmack malzig, leicht fruchtig, grasig.
3.5 Bottle shared by my brother. Clear amber pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma of tart fruit, caramel and slight nuttiness. Malty and caramelly flavor with lager yeast before a semi-dry finish.
2.8 Bottle 50cl, a clear amber orange beer with good head. Nose is on cereals and light sour touch. Aroma is medium sweet with caramel and caramelt notes, bit over carbonated, light sour / cherry background, grainy. Finish is again grainy with a sourish background, almost no hops.
3.0 Swingtop: Pours clear copper with a small soapy head. Toasted malt and tea aroma. Toasty bread, light caramel malt, leaves. A hint of spice. A little plain, but nice.
1.5 Another bad one from this brewery - thank God there are no ones left at home to drink from them! This beer pours out in a light cloudy orange-golden colour with low airy head and medium to thin body. Nose of acid and nuts. Taste of mild, unripe hops, metall, nuts, straw, grass and citrus. Very acid and pukey finish. Dusty and dull beer, not really drinkable, not to talk of enjoyable.
1.2 Krass es Zeug. Hat was von Sirup gepaart mit Säure. Ordentlich mufflig mit einer Anspielung auf das gute, alte Handballharz. Dazu ein klein wenig Gestank und vergorene Milch. Neue..,bahn.
3.4 Bottle. Clear dark amber pour with a fleeting white head. Mild spice aromas. Big malty notes with just enough bitterness from the hops to keep it honest. Decent body and mouthfeel..
2.8 Not a bad beer. Picked up a Total Wine. Aroma is butterscotch, light bread, rye, caramel. Weird. Flavor is similar. Lots of butterscotch, weirdly sweet, almost no hops. Bready. It’s like a lame Marzen to me.
2.9 Thanks for finding this one, OmegaX. The pour was a clean, dark brown body with a smooth head. Aromas revealed some toffee, bread, dank hops and old spices. The taste was full of rye and bitter hops with a dunkel-like sweetness that lessened as it warmed up. Typical German lager here.
2.8 Poured from a bottle picked up at BW to try this style; amber color with not head. Aroma of malts, grain, grass, And taste sweet malts. Not doing much for me.
3.3 Medium clear brown pour with big head. Smells of beans, legumes, corn. Tastes like rye bread and polenta. Moderate carb. Verges on a little too sweet and malty. Good unique taste though. It’s intriguing to get so many complex grain flavors in a beer.
3.0 50cl swingtop bottle, mostly full. Was opened and resealed several hours ago, and kept refrigerated. Pours a clear lighter brown / red color. Little slightly off-white head. Some swirls on the surface. Few loose bits of lace. Not bad-looking. Medium body. Lighter, kind of crisp carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Kind of a more rich, nutty lightly toasty malt nose. Some lightly spicy flavors, lightly spicy hop. Hint of chocolate. Moderate sweet taste, bit of bitter. Solid keller, pretty interesting... I don’t see these often
2.1 Copper pour with thin off white head. Aroma is nice caramel, flowers and bread. Taste and palate do not come up to the standard of the aroma. Taste has a little sweetness, but is overwhelmed by a cardboard flavor. The mouth feel is pure water.
2.9 Poured from a .5l bottle into a lager glass. Pours a darker copper with a thick white head of fizzy foam. Decent retention. Aroma is fruity and grainy. Some grass and toasted nuts come through. Taste is sweet and just a touch bitter. Light on the palate with a not so great aftertaste.
3.6 500ml fliptop poured into a shaker. Pours a dark caramel with a half finger of white head. Aroma of caramel and floral hops. A little bready. Taste is light bitter. Bready with caramel and toffee. A little floral hops on the end. Medium bodied with a sonewhat thin texture. Soft carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Not my favorite style, but drinkable.
2.8 ambrata poca schiuma non molto persistente leggero ferro discreto malti poco amara leggero caramello
3.1 pours a brown ruby .. . mild foam, lacing is quite good .. . grainy, with some wheat and wood bark .. . can’t detect any yeast, just seems like a well made vienna but just not rustic enough .. . . damn, lindsey lohan is such a pleasant person, said no one.
2.6 Bottle. Light sweet grainy malt aroma. Clear copper with a small white head. Lightly sweet barley malt and grassy flavor. Light body, soft carbonation. I suspect this is an old bottle, and this may have been a much better beer at one time.
2.8 Deceny flavor but not the greatest...nothing special of note..malty with slight hop taste
3.3 .5 l bottle. Pours a dark copper color with a quickly dissipating white foamy head. Aroma of caramel and toast. Taste like an ashtray. Hints of caramel. Lots of toast. A bit of a metallic taste as well. Nice carbonation and lacing. Sweet med. dry finish.
3.3 0,5 l Swing Top bottle. BB 10/13 caramel, cereal, coffee, roasty, herbs, earthy, brown, clear, frothy, white foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, creamy, soft carbonation,
2.5 bottle. deep amber with small head. sweet toasty malt, but thin flavor. feels like something is missing. but i admit i’m not overly familiar with the style.
3.1 Clear dark amber with a long 1/2" head and heavy streaks of lace. The taste is caramel malt with a light bittering that enters well before the finish. No complexity, very little change; a light brew that is easy to drink, but not substantial enough to consider as a serious contender.
