Moosehead Pale Ale

Moosehead Pale Ale

Can and bottle: Filtered

Moosehead Pale Ale was our first beer to be branded Moosehead. ‘Moose Red,’ as it is referred to in the Maritimes, has a recipe dating back to 1931 and has a loyal following. A true top-fermented ale, Moosehead Pale Ale is medium bodied and fermented at warmer temperatures to impart its floral aromatics.

2.7 Gold klar, spritzig malzig. Es ist geschmacklich sehr stout ähnlich. Der Schaum ist sehr schnell weg
2.3 473ml can. Pours a crystal clear amber-gold with a medium, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Faint, sweet aroma of grainy malt and corn. Sweet flavour of toasted caramel malt, corn and grassy hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a thin, watery texture and soft carbonation. Not terrible, as it is easy to drink and thirst quenching, just boring.
2.8 Has a nice malty dryness to it. I detect a nuts, perhaps dark fruit and a grain flavour. Slightly dry, bitter finish. Not bad.
3.1 350ml bottle. Malty grainy beginning. Easy to drink, grainy floral fruity. The malty body is quite deep with nice red fruity aroma, moderate bitter, refreshing and grainy in the aftertaste. Nice balanced, grainy refreshing.
2.0 Aroma : Light citrus hop with subtle soft fruity/floral undertone. Taste : Refreshing enough but flavours are light & indistinct. Not nasty just a tad bland
2.3 47,3cl Can @ Drinks of The World, Geneva, Switzerland. Golden colour with a medium size white head. Aroma is malt, straw. Taste is malt, sweet, bread, slightly herbal. Medium body, average carbonation.
2.7 11-12-19 // bottle. Purchased at Maruhn - Welt der Getränke. Very clear darker golden. Collapsing white bubbly head. Sweet malty nose. Very easy Ale. Low fruit notes from the malt. Not mich hoppy.
2.6 0.5 bottle @ Canada Club Clear, gold with a medium, white head. Malty, basic aroma. Malty, delicately DMS-y taste. Light, slick, lively. Decent, non-offending finish. Overall, average.
2.9 Medium-side light body, refreshing, easy going, less bitter, feel a bit sweetness like corn. Balanced common style. Good for daily use.
2.7 clear golden colour, medium sized dense white head; aroma and taste of fruity, floral, biscuity, bread and slight citrusy notes; drinkable
2.0 Bottles from Rehills, Newcastle in 2019 and 2011. Pale golden coloured with a large white head. It has a sweet toffee, grassy and corn flavour with a warming bitter-sweet finish. Pretty bland, not great for the ABV.
2.1 Cerveza estilo Ale pero extremadamente amarga estilo Bitter inglés y amargor seco
2.2 The beer looks great. Elegant looking Can, Golde n clear beer with a nice white head. And that was the good news. It tastes like a cheap Lager. Grainy, a little sweet and a lot wet paper.
2.6 Can at the Maple Leaf, Covent Garden (Palace v The weed) - pours almost clear gold with a white head and lacing. A suggestion of vague citrus fruit, sweet malty base, light to medium body, subdued hoppy bitter close. Basic stuff.
2.1 Clear golden with a thin white head, low carbonation. Mild flavours of malt and a very distant bitterness. After all, it is merely a Pale Lager with a Little taste. Far from a Pale Ale proper.
2.0 Pours clear, light amber with a three finger, off white head. Aroma is thin caramel and light grass. Taste is caramel, moving to light grassiness and light hops. Finish is nonexistent.
3.1 Can. Clear golden color poured with a frothy white head. It has a malty aroma with notes of cereal and caramel. The taste is sweet. Nice pale ale.
2.0 Lullabies, look in your eyes Run around the same old town Doesn't mean that much to me To mean that much to you I've been first and last Look at how the time goes past But I'm all alone at last Rolling home to you
1.5 A bottle with Italian dinner. The food was only marginally better than the beer. Drinkable, nothing special.
2.4 16 oz can from Boise Co-op. Medium golden pour with nice one finger fluffy head. And that's about as good as it gets. Grainy aroma, wet paper notes.Taste is more of the grains and paper, with a hint of cooked vegetables. Not much different from a lager. American golden ale? not sure if that fits either. Not that good...
2.7 473 ml can. Bought this by accident thinking it was something else. Very pale yellow ber with almost no head. Aromas of pale malts and not much else. Pretty much tasteless. Only a little hoppy aftertaste but that's it. Drinking a glass of water would feel pretty much the same. Might be ok for your commercial beer drinker, it doesn't actually taste bad.
1.9 473ml can. Golden pour, flavor and aroma of a minhas adjunct lager, nothing about this is pale or ale.
4.5 Poured from 12 oz can into nonic glass. A 2"+ white pillowy head falls moderately leaving mild lacing. Color is clear light amber with a few streaming bubbles. Aroma is rich bready malts, floral and fruity hops. Mouthfeel is light to medium with an easy, dry finish. Flavor is malt dominate with sweet toasted malt balanced by a mild but noticeable floral hop bitterness. A wonderful session ale, I could drink this one everyday.
2.8 Can- pours a clear, pale yellow color with a slight head. The aroma is that of a simple pale ale, a little malty. Nothing too complex, just a simple easy drinking Macro beer with some flavor.
4.0 A very good summer beer for drinking
1.7 Can. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain, malt syrup, husks), trace hops (herbs), with notes of metal shavings and DMS. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, husky, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic. This is basically no different from an industrial swill lager...very rough malt and little else to save it.
3.2 Can 473ml 5% Bog standard ale Ok 6.5
2.5 16oz can Pours a clear copper color with a big head that fades. Aroma is quite muted with just a bit of malt sweetness and grass. Taste follows the aroma being quite muted, Mild bitterness and a slightly sticky finish. Fairly light body, quite smooth but bland. Nothing to see here.
3.0 Moosehead Pale Ale is comparable to a Session IPA, just less hop aroma and flavor. Tall boy, picked up at Total Wine.
1.7 Pour is a clear copper with a large white head. Aroma is really hard to come by. Some sweet malt and not much else. Flavor is again almost nothing. This is just like fizzy copper colored water. When I saw the overall 7% score I thought it can't be that bad, well it's not bad per se, it just taste like nothing.
