Moritz

[Alex’s translation from Catalano]

Louis Moritz was born in 1830 at Pfaffenhoffen in Alsace; he moved to Barcelona in the middle of the XIX century and founded in 1856, as a pioneer in our Country, the brewery...

Moritz is a beer brewed with pale malts, water from the source Font d’Or from the Montseny-Guilleries and perfumed with an infusion of Saaz hop flowers...

3.0 0,33l can from Spain, enjoyed @ Uotila. Pours clear golden with a medium head. Aroma is malts. Flavor is sweet clean malts with some hops. Decent.
3.1 Uit een flesje op terras van café Museu in onze wijk in Valencia. Bleek helder bier, licht zoet, niet onaardig.
2.8 Color amarillo dorado, cristalina. Dos dedos de espuma con buena retención. Aroma discreto a cereal y lúpulo noble. Gusto a cereal, ligeros cítricos y melaza, dulzona. Cuerpo acuoso. Pale Lager industrial tirando a dulce, nada del otro mundo pero sin defectos.
2.9 Barcelonassa 9/2019. Smooth and balanced pale lager. Not very special but drinkable.
3.0 33 cl can, 4,7% ABV, BB 25th Aug 2020. Clear, straw coloured, foamy medium head, nice carbonation. Aromas of pale malts and hops. Medium to rich mouthfeel, not too carbonated. Nice and malty beer, Saaz hops are very present and it tastes good. Excellent product.
2.0 Pale golden with a white head - Malt in the aroma - Malt body with low bitterness - Malt goes to finish - This was boring
2.5 Barcelona 24/8 2019. 33 cl can from a Minimarket in a side street from the Rambla. Yellow can with a big ´"M" and some hop flowers in the background. Small medals with Roman heads in profile. Pours clear golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. Bubbly. Disappears more or less leaving thin rim of foam along the side of the glass. No lacing. Medium intense aroma a bit on the sweet side. Sweet pale malts. Grains, bread. Sugary. Light citrus rummaging in the background. Medium carbonation. Thin, oily, lively texture. Flavor is quite sweet followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bit more bitter with a sweet undercurrent. Lingers for a while. Generic South European pale lager. A bit on the sweet side but the light citric influence helps a bit.
3.0 Bottle 0,33ltr: Clear golden colored brew with an medium dry bitter taste good at an Spanish Costa and it have something citrussy.
3.0 I spent 2 weeks in Barcelona last year and drank all sorts of beer. I did not see this anywhere there. I had it in a Mexican Restaurant in Mukwonago, wisconsin, which is weird seeing this is not a Mexican beer. With that said this was better than expected. Rathy yeasty with heavier malts than anticipated. Hops were moderate. Bottle.
3.3 Tasty and refreshing! nice on a hot day in Barcelona.
2.2 Golden, clear with a white head. Soft Aroma of malt and straw. Light bitter with a soft straw and malt finnish. Spar, Lyngseidet, NO.
3.5 11 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a moderately hazy yellow with a white head of foam. The aroma has a mildly meaty and smoky character. Sweet and herbal taste. A touch of rosemary. Lighter body and medium carbonation.
2.2 No me acuerdo, pero era mala.
2.4 Fra Eurospar Strandveien, Tromsø. 4,7%. Lys gylden. Klar. Lavt tett skum som blir film. Aroma av søt malt & søte bær. Smaken har samme bærpreg. Tørr etter hvert.
1.9 Puszka 0,33 litra. Barwa złota, klarowna. Ładna biała piana, calkiem trwała. Aromat zly, kukurydziany. W smaku niestety fatalnie.
Leggera amarezza
3.7 Hazy sweet lager, almost like a wheat beer. Unlike other Spanish lagers.
2.9 Bottle from World Market. Ticking my way to 5k. Pours slightly hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma is artificial lemon, iced tea, caramel, vanilla, cream, butterscotch - very strange aroma for what I was expecting. Flavor is similarish - artificial lemon, cream, butterscotch, corn. Interesting, perhaps, but not great.
2.2 Thick, light yellowish head, stable, over clear metallic golden beer; light carbonation. Creamy nose, cereals, pale malts. Light bitterish overtones over mainly dull-sweet malts. Again a bit grainy, cereals. Light body, mild carbonation, sweet aftertaste. Move on, folks, nothing to see here.
4.7 Moritz has a medium, off-white head, a very hazy, golden appearance, with lots of tan chunks, some of which look like slivers of wood. The lacing is moderate. The aroma is of sweet, rich malt, and the flavor is of sweet, sharp barley and grass. There is some red apple, too. Mouthfeel is medium, and Moritz finishes medium dry. RJT
3.5 Happy thanksgiving. Good super chilled and best served before other beers.
