Morland Old Golden Hen (Bottle)

Morland Old Golden Hen (Bottle)

Bottled;
Old Golden Hen captures a celestial ray of sunshine in the form of a rare and very special Tasmanian hop called Galaxy. The result is a triumph for its sheer powers of refreshment. Malty sweetness, a hint of tropical fruit and a clean finish: out of this world.

Aroma: Tropical notes of grapefruit & mango.
Taste: Tropical fruits & malt sweetness with a crisp finish.

3.4 Bottle BBE in 12 months. Gold with a frothy good sized head. Aroma of citrus especially mango as well as malts. Low carbonation and light to medium body. Taste of citrus but mostly malt. A bitter sweet finish, a touch dry. A little disappointed at first as it's quite simple but it's actually quite moorish, very sessionable. I wished I had another in the fridge.
A végén könnyed keserűvel zár. Frissítő.
2.2 Bottle. Amber glden color with medium white head. Lightstruck skunkiness, green apples in aroma. Taste, malt, diacetyl, lightstruck. bad.
2.3 Bottle via Lidl SK. Galaxy actually shines here 'or would shine, if it was not eclipsed by the completely catastrophic lightstruck skunkiness. Merely popping the cap was enough to get a generous amount of skunk up my nose. There is really no way around it - it ruins this beer. Otherwise thin body, med-high carbonation. Seems really clean despite that one big skunk bomb. Drinkable despite everything. Cask must be great. Bottle is shit.
2.8 pours a golden colour beer with a white frothy head Notes of citrus fruits and berries Cask
3.2 Bottle. Clear deep golden colour with a medium foamy white head head, nose is malty, grassy and citric with notes of grapefruit and tropical fruits and some buttery and skunky hints, the latter ones maybe caused by the clear glass, taste is sweet, citric and buttery with a dry hoppy finish.
3.5 Nice, very nice.. I did not expect that smooth taste.. It reminds me Omar with the smell and gold color.
3.8 500ml bottle brewed in England at 4.1%. Small, shortlasting head. Toffee-caramel aroma with a hint of flowery hops. Light amber, or, alternatively, a deep gold. Low carbonation. The promised tropical fruit hops actually deliver, there's hints of mango and pomegranate, but this is a 4.1% pub-style beer and as such they are very mild and serve as a counterbalance only to the malt, the star of the show in these golden ales. So how is the malt? Moving into it through a slight hop earthiness you get broad sweet strokes, decent enough, but somewhat nondescript. Sometimes light caramel makes itself known, sometimes there's a sweet, not-too-dark brown bread character, and it's not half bad - but it's not great, either. An interesting golden ale, with a good idea and good ingredients, but ultimately only so-so execution. Go into this without high expectations and you'll not be disappointed - for a bit of fun, have it in a head-to-head alongside a bottle of Spitfire Gold - this is more inoffensive, but the Spitfire has a bit more character.
1.8 09-Nov-12 (12-oz bottle: Purchased 09-Nov-12 at The Bine & Vine Bottle Shop in San Diego, CA) Pours a crystal clear, radiantly golden body with half an inch of bubbly, off-white head that settles to a patchy layer and wide ring. The nose is malty and buttery, some sourdough, not especially enticing. Things get worse. Flavors of cardboard, stale bread, hay, butter are wince-inducing. Some caramely malt is in the background but it can't save an otherwise unenjoyable beer. Light-medium in weight, medium in carbonation, reasonably dry, finishing stale and flat. Overall, not much else to say. This just isn't very good and not worth drinking more than necessary to get my review completed.
W smaku lepiej. Chmielowe lekkie wytrawne. Goryczka troche łodygowa.
3.0 Aroma: Toffee, Caramel, maybe some chocolate, hoppy and grassy Taste: Sweetness, chocolate, a little bit of coffee Palate: somewhat bitter but not much else
2.8 Aroma of faint tropical fruits. Taste bas a mild pineapple and peach taste with citrus. Totally overpowered by malts and an old school ale dryness. Mediocre.
3.5 Clear brassy gold with thin white head Aroma is bready grainy Flava is bready grainy Feels medium with moderate foamy fizz Finishes dry with earthy notes hints of licorice
3.1 Bottle from the local Lidl. Deep gold with a thin, frothy white head. Aroma full of overripe pear and grass. Pleasant and better than I‘d hoped for. Taste is simple and mildly bitter throughout. A light mango/pear aftertaste at the end. Medium body, decent feel in the mouth even if a touch watery. Decent.
2.7 Bottle from Liz/Larry in Glebe. Clear golden body, white head. Crisp with malt, citrus, hints of caramel.
3.0 20-08-19 // bottle fro mthe local LIDL. Better than expected. Clear golden. Smells cheap maltish, lightstruck. Taste is actually solid. Mild tropical hop aromas. Mild bitterness. But some sweetish malts aswell. Good for some gardening work.
Aroma a lúpulo y toques frutales.
2.5 Gift. Not unpleasant but nothing much to say. Malt. Refreshing on a hot summer day.
2.9 gold colour. smell is mango. taste light bitter front with fruity and some bready notes. easy drinking
2.6 Ok. An easy drinking typical strength English ale. No deal breaker just ok. Apparently according to the label has a gold award.
3.6 It has aroma of grapefruit and tropical fruits with a mild bitter taste. Very refreshing. Good beer.
1.8 Bottiglia.
3.0 500 ml bottle. Clear dark golden, small head. Lemon, pine honey, a bit maple syrup, floral notes, some corn, Corona. Dry bitterness, malty sweetness. Light bodied, oily watery texture, low carbonated, dry finish. Very British.
2.9 50cl bottle. Pours brilliant amber with moderate white foam, transparent. Aroma is caramel, fruity. Body is thin with medium carbonation. Taste has some moderate bitterness, limited sweetness. Finish is regular.
1.9 Fasc schifo. Meglio na corona a sto punto
2.3 Clear bottle from LIDL. Immediate catty aroma when cracking the bottle, earthy hop and grainy notes after it breathes a bit. Clear golden, large bubbles, low white foam. Medium light body, grainy light malt base, fairly strong earthy herbal bitter hop profile which sticks to the palate, light Lady Grey retronasal, feels a bit abrasive and unbalanced. Overall not a enjoyable drink for me.
2.8 Klar gylden med hvitt skum. Aroma og smak malt karamell frukt. Maltet og lett fruktig. Smakt Sept 12
4.3 Refreshing beer, 4.1 vol. Very Grapefruity a little mango very refreshingly good golden ale. summertime party
3.0 500ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Biscuity, pale malty and citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, lemon tea, hints of lemon biscuit, minimally soapy overtones. Taste is minimally sweet, biscuity malty and slightly citrusy hoppy, hints of lemon, lemon tea, lemon biscuit, a cautious doughy touch. A tad simple and monotonous.
