3.6 Excelente witbier. Muito saborosa é refrescante. Tem um cítrico no final. Tomei em Bruges.
3.2 Draught at Mort Subite. Unclear pale yellow with a white head, nice lacings. Aroma medium malty (wheat). Flavor medium sweet, light acidic and fresh. Medium body.
3.2 Mort subite Lambic blanche Hvidgylden uklar skuM hvid kort Frugt vajile blomst gær hved Sød lidt sur ikke Livlig vandede @ms 6-3-7-3-13
2.4 Trüb. In der Nase Weizen, leicht fruchtig, Soleroeis, sahnig, künstlich. Am Gaumen kommtn eine leivchte Säure hinzu. Sahnig, trinkbar.
3.6 Draft as Mort Subite Witte Lambiek. Pours a hazy golden beer with a big frothy white head on top. Aroma is very floral and tropical fruits, peaches, lemon and a slight bready note. Flavor is medium sweet, slight sour touches. Can not really get the Lambic note here, but certainly the characteristics of a decent Belgian Wit, which is good for me. Suits the style perfectly and can’t wait to try this again on a hot summers day! Really refreshing and thirst quenching.
2.3 Tasted as Mort Subite Witte Lambic. An imitation of a genre invented by Timmermans, which is essentially supposed to represent a hybrid between witbier and sweetened ’capsulekensgeuze’. This was a hazy yellowish beer looking a lot like witbier, with a soft, sweet and somewhat sugary character with hints of cider, lemon and pineapple, as well as witbier features. Not undrinkable but I don’t like these ’witte lambics’ very much, I’m afraid: too sweet for me.
2.4 Gedronken als Mort Subite Witte Lambic, niet slecht, maar toch niet echt mijn ding.
3.0 Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is cherry, pear, citrus and earthy, definitely not a lambic as it was identified as on menu. Taste was sweet with very mild bitterness. Medium bodied and a little thicker then expected.
4.5 Nice blanche, not lambic. Unclear light yellow with white head. Nice aroma of coriander, gum and fruit. Light sweet and smoot but too drinkable and fresh.
2.2 On tap at Kraftwork. Aroma is Hubba Bubba soft bubble gum...nothing more; nothing less. Pours light blonde and thin with light bubbles and a soapy head. Taste is bubble gum with maybe a hint of grape soda. Mouthfeel is fruity but very light. Just an awful beer. If you like liquid bubble gum, this is your beer.
3.4 Shared bottle at home. Poured a golden yellow colour with a 1 finger head. Peaches, banana, pears, tart, some sour apples, nice drinkable beer
2.8 On tap. Weak watery mouthfeel leads to spices floating in banana water. Over carbonated and missing some weight.
2.8 Draft at delirium Pours fuzzy , light yellow . Small white head Smell very spiced Taste like a regular white ... Not getting any lambic at all . Rerate . Drank as ’mampoko’ in a restaurant with the sme name ( should i add a new alias entry ???) Cant believe i missed this before , but this tastes 100% like the candy necklasses you can eat in Belgium ... Dont taste like a regular white at all ( why did i think that ?) and is too sweet , simple and fake .
2.3 What a letdown. I expected a more sour, lambiek taste, but all I got was a generic witbier. Too sweet as well.
3.4 Tap @ A La Mort Subite. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are sweet malt, sugar, little citrus and hops. Mild and sweet.
3.4 On tap at Capitol Beer, Sacramento. Pours cloudy golden with a rich white head and a fruity aroma. There is a sweet fruity flavor with a yeasty finish.
3.3 Pours a golden beer with a good white head. Smells incredible sweet and fruity. Tatse is much less fruity and sweet. Special taste. Lemon and some other fruits.
3.5 Draft. Really not too bad. Huge tropical fruit kick, tons of sweet orange peel. Spice.Very little tartness.
3.7 On tap at Jose Pistola’s for PBW. Pours a blonde yellow color with a white foam head. Aroma of apricots and funk. Has a sweet smooth fruit taste with a funk finish. Decent.
2.6 Tap @ de Deut in Nijmegen, licht geel van kleur, witte schuimkraag, ruikt en smaakt een beetje saai, mout en niet veel koolzuur
2.7 Tap @ de Deut, Nijmegen. Hazy pale yellow colour with a small to medium sized white head. Smells slightly malty, some lemongrass. Taste watery, malty, some lemongrass. Quite boring. Thin body, soft carbo.
3.5 Consumed at WoSF, 2013. It pours hazy pale yellow with a medium white head. The nose is pear, tangy fruit, sherbet, refreshers and Love Heart sweets. The taste is earth, soft fruit, pear, red apple, cherry, Parma Violets, Love Hearts and sherbet with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, well balanced and pretty tasty. Decent.
3.3 Aroma: Fresh Peaches with a mild medicinal note. Appearance: Hazy light gold with a thick white head. Flavor: Somewhat reminiscent of a witbier but with more fruitiness. Coriander is just detectible. Palate: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation with a dry, fruit-pit finish. Overall: An interesting, if strange take on a Lambic.
3.9 When in Brussels, do as the "Brusseleirs" do: go for a "blanchke" (a white) in "La Mort Subite" (Sudden Death). The café itself may attract more tourists than locals these days, but it has kept its authenticity despite this. Very accessible, a good introduction to lambics. Maybe not the best of this style, but that doesn’t mean thisn’t a good beer, far from it. Opaque golden-straw, you’ll have to be fast to catch any sight of a fast dwindling hald inch of foam (I really can’t call this a head). Lemony smell and taste, nice balance of sweet and sour, little of the bitters. Quite fruity even, but luckily there’s the yeasty tones to counter that sufficiently as to not make this an alcoholic lemonade. Very nice quick thirst quencher, very drinkable.
3.1 on tap at the Deut nijmegen. Thin creamy white head. Hazy blond pour. Apricot arona. Quite interest ing.
3.1 Appearance is hazy yellow and medium white head. Aroma is a sweet malt. Taste is a bit of spicy fruit and sweetness. Overall well balanced.
3.3 Draught @ Mort Subite. Rated on 18.07.2010 Aroma is somewhat sweet with citrus, peaches and wheat. Flavour is sweetish with lots of citrus, some peaches and hints of wheat. Worked on a hot summer day in the middle of Brussels.
3.9 Tap flight at House of Beer. Mildly hazy light yellow-gold pour. Bright white foam head. Strong aroma of fresh cut peaches. Taste is peach, apricot, papaya, and spicy wheat malt. Hint if corriander remains in the mouth. Creamy mouthfeel for the style.
