4.02014 vintage. Deep dark reddish purple like a beet with pinkish head. Funky aroma with some fruity notes in the background. Immediately sour, lots of lemon juice, strawberry, sour cherry. Really refreshing and balanced. Not as good as Girardin or 3 Fonteinen, but enjoyable and tasty.
3.7Ar: sourness, tartness, barnyard, red fruit Ap: red, minimal head T: med sourness, tartness, astringency P: long finish
3.9Intensywny aromat wiśni, wytrawny ale owocowy. W smaku dużo dzikości, mocno kwaśne i mocno wiśniowe, bardzo klasyczne w swoim stylu.
3.9Aroma sour and very tart, very "horse stable". Aroma of cherries very natural, orchard-like natural. Initial aroma of cherries fades away after a while. Taste the same: good tartness and sourness. I would have liked the cherries to be more dominant, taste a bit watery too but very enjoyable.
4.0Bottle form Bierland, Belgium. 2014 bottle. So so sour and so so yummy. Loved this.
4.1Skvělý lambik, s nasládlejší chutí, skvělou vůní a plnějším řízem. Velký gurmánský zážitek!
3.5Bottle (year 2012) @ home. Rosso rubino, velata con riflessi porpora e schiuma evanescente rosata. Grossolana la trama. Aroma non molto complesso ne troppo intenso. Fruttato, frutta rossa, amarene, note citriche, legno , vaniglia, luppolo vecchio.
4.0April 2017 - 375ml cork and cage bottle at home in Richmond. As ’Anno 1686 Mort Subite Oude Kriek Lambic’, 6.5%, oogstjaar 2014, bottled in 2015. Pours a clear ruby red, sparkling with a dense foamy pink head, leaving droopy lacing. Aroma is rich dark cherry, maybe some hints of pink marshmallow and rhubarb. But mostly cherry. Body is light, tingly carbonation, frothy in the mouth. Taste is tart and refreshing with cherry and lemon juice, some metallic notes towards the finish. This is a very good kriek - so drinkable and balanced yet tart and refreshing. Given that the other two Mort Subite beers I’ve rated average 2.8 for me, this is a real stand-out beer for this brewery. (4.0)

3.70,375l fles in gent bij bierhuis in Gent. paarsrood met een bescheiden roze kraag. Subtiel zuur met kersen beetje aardbei en eiken in de afdronk.Had wat meer uitgesproken gemogen

3.8Bottle. Murky Cherry Red in colour (like a fruit smoothie). Zingy, tangy, lots of tart sour cherry fruit. Earthy, funky & yeasty. Vinous. Effervescent. Wood, leather, barnyard. Nice sour fruity. Very dry finish. Lovely Kriek! (2008)
3.0Mort Subite Oude Kriek 2014
2009 vintage.
4.02009 Bottle. Deep red with a quickly diminishing white head. Quite tart aroma and taste with big cherry, almonds, a bit of toast, vanilla, caramel and grass. Not very funky but very well balanced with subtle, soft carbonation and a slightly tart finish. Lovely kriek.
3.5Vertical with 2014, 2009, and 2005 (from belgiuminabox). Pours red, fresher one is more clear, older ones are more pinkish and more murky. Fresh one has aroma of cherries, fruits, sugar, funk, some manure, horse blanket. Older ones have less sweetness on the nose, and have spicey notes, cardemon, cinnamon that the younger one lacked. There is also noticeably more manure in the aroma of older ones, especially in the 2005 vintage. Fresh one?s flavor is sour, cherries, funk, acidic notes, some wood. Finish is also somewhat acidic. 2005 is noticeably more acidic, even vinegary, there is also more oak. 2009 feels more balanced and is not as acidic as 2005. Older ones have bit less body, which is to be expected. Overall: good, the best one was 2009, it was the most balanced and wasn?t too raw like 2014, but also not too acidic as 2005.

3.4375ml bottle (Stadin Panimo Bar, Helsinki)
Nice red, brief head. Sweetish but tart too. Wateryish palate, but a nice sharpness too, the lambic tartness has kicked in nicely. Finish has a very dry cherry stone and old hop bitterness, nicely dry. Cherry in perfect balance, it’s there, but it’ not dominant. Yes, enjoyed this.
3.6(Bottle, 0.375 l, at Stadin Panimobaari, 20161013) The beer poured deep red and clear. Its head was small and lightly pink. Aroma had tartness and cherries. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were cherries, tartness, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste had sweetness, cherries and bitterness. A nice sweet lambic. A good one but I prefer the ones with more tartness.
3.5Bottle at Stadin Panimo. Ruby red color, pink head. Sour taste with cherry, tart, toast, acidic notes, a bit of caramel and grass. Sour finish with cherry, tart, acidic notes, toast and grass. Excellent kriek.
3.60.375 bottle, 2014 version. Red beer with pink head. Aromas of sour cherries, some vinegar, wood. Taste is moderately sour, fruity. Light bodied and refreshing.
3.7Bottle. Hazy red color with a minimal off-white head. Aroma of red wine, cherry and oak. A bit acidic and sour taste. Thin body.
3.7Sampled from 0.375 l bottle, shared by kermis at Not THT, thanks! Hazy, deep red with a pinkish white head. Sourish-fruity, moderately funky aroma of sour cherries, raspberries, oak and bitter almond. Quite sour, fruity and moderately funky taste of raspberries, strawberries, oak and bitter almond, followed by a medium long, rather tart and woody-dry finish. Medium body, very astringent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!
3.7Bottle shared thanks to kermis. Notes of cherries, lambic funk. Tart, medium body, medium carbonation and a fruit sour finish.
3.437.5cl bottle shared at not THT.
thin ring pink head. Very hazypink/red pour. Tart aftertaste
3.5Aroma: cherry, pip, some barnyard notes
Taste: medium to heavy sour, cherry, light pip, barnyard and pineapple in the background
4.0375ml bottle. 2011? The beer is a deep magenta brown, mahogany-ish. Small fizzy pinkish head. No lacing. Bubbles are gone within a couple minutes. The aroma has a good bit of sweet and sour cherry flavor. There’s a faint phenolic medicinal note. Fair bit of apple cidery flavor. The funk is subtle but pleasant enough in the background. Taste is moderately sour. Nice depth of cherry flavor. The medicinal note is much lighter and blends in well in the taste. You also get some musty oak flavor, particularly in the finish. Long cherry juice finish. Medium-ish body, at least for a kriek. Some roundness to the feel. Good stuff.
