Mountain Goat Hightail Ale

Mountain Goat Hightail Ale

Bottle conditioned English style ’real ale’. Burnt amber in color, it has a rich malt body and floral hop aroma. A batch was brewed in the Hook Norton brewery, UK, in 2015 to be sold from the cask at the UK pub chain, J D Wetherspoon for their Spring 2015 beer festival: "Dave Edney has travelled to Hook Norton Brewery, in Oxfordshire, to brew this beer especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. This amber-coloured beer has a moderately malty body, with hints of toffee and roastiness, complemented by a well-balanced bitterness, fruity, citrus notes and a pleasing, dry finish. Hops used: Cascade (UK), Challenger Beer style: best bitter"

2.7 As it says toffee tones. Light on the hops well balanced finish all in all a great beer
3.1 Nice colour, nice aroma but taste a little thinner than one would expect. But brown English bitter colour with quick disappearing white head. Malty, nutty aroma and initial taste has nice bitterness. But this soon disappears leaving rather bland taste. Quite high carbonation. Not sure what this is trying to achieve: this is like an English pale ale but with too much carbonation and rather artificial hoppiness.
3.3 Bottle in Melbourne Clear amber, white head Soma caramel, malts and nothing more Quite drinkable, but nothing special
3.3 Pours a dark copper with no head with minimal carbonation. On the nose it has massive hints of toffee which seems to disappear as the beer gets closer to room temperature. As mentioned it appears almost flat like most traditional English ales with a fairly low bodied mouthful. Taste wise it's a fairly nice amber ale. You get your sweeter toffee notes at the start with almost a barbecue/smokey bacon on the finish. Not bad at all. Would be more my style if it had a bit of a fizz factor to it tho!

2.1 Tap. Cloudy, amber, frothy, tan foam, medium bitterness, light sweetness, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, & bitter finish.
3.0 Got a reasonable malt and slight passionfruit aroma, pours dark short lasting creamy head, some dark ale qualities but quite mild, low alcohol vol @ 4.5%, finishes short, need to drink it faster to maintain its pleasureable qualities as a result. a bit lightweight but smooth and nice enough.
2.7 Smell of malt. Bronze colour, beige head. Aroma of malt, rubber, sugar. Medium sweet. Oily texture, flatmcarbon.
3.9 Malty aroma. Dark brown golden colour with good head. Malty up front with a nice smooth finish. Light to medium body with medium to high carbonation.

3.1 Bottle 33 cl from Citymarket Turtola @home. Pius clear dark copper with a small white head. Malty, bread aroma, some hay. Some hop bitterness, sweetness, some fruits.
3.3 Poured copper-red with small white head that diminished (mother-in-law mispoured it). Aroma malts, dark fruit earthiness, followed by citrus of hops. Taste wonderful mouthful of malts, touch of brown sugar, following through to to soft dry bitterness. Soft carbonation, moderate body and finish. I like!
2.9 330 ml bottle. Pours a copper colour with a white head. Aroma of toasted malts, grass and bread. Flavour of toasted malts, grass, bread, some grapefruit and gooseberries. Light bodied, a bit rough mouthfeel and a harsh, grainy, bitter finish. Decent.
