Mountain Goat Organic Steam Ale

Mountain Goat Organic Steam Ale

The Steam Ale is a crisp, certified organic ale. We incorporate a slap of wheat malt in the grist make-up and ferment it cool. We use Cascade and Citra hops to give it a fresh, zippy finish. Great as the weather warms up.

2.8 Appearance: slightly hazy golden, very thin head Aroma: biscuit malt, lemon Palate: medium mouthfeel, low carbonation Taste: biscuit malt, lemon, balanced bitterness
3.0 Bottle. Pours a pale and thin yellow gold with a white head. Aroma: lemon, biscuity malt, grass, mild funky notes. Taste: lemon, malt, grain, mild floral flavours. Thin to medium bodied. Moderate to high carbonation. Mild malty bitterness with a fairly clean finish. Easy to drink and very sessionable, but a bit dull.
2.8 330ml bottle from Tasty Life, Xiamen. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of lemon and malt. Fruity taste. A little bitter. Thin finish.
2.4 Hazy yellow. Cross between a US Budweiser and a wheat beer. Quite refreshing, better than Budweiser but pretty average. Better off try g one of the beefed up seasonal specials of the steam ale
2.1 Not much of anything g with this beer. Quite fizzy and not much taste. Organic makes it good for you ..
4.0 Fresh, a little fruity and delightful to drink.
3.1 Bottle sample at a tasting at Max' place. Thanks troubles. Clear-to-hazy gold, white head. Sweet, peach malt aroma, sweet, peach, pineapple nectar, very fruity with a bitter tang taste. Light body, fizzy, summer fruit finish. Refreshing.
5.0 This is by far my favourite beer to drink. Fantastic for all occasions. Always have some in my frdge
3.0 Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks troubles. Yellow. Floral and citric hops, slightly stale, some graininess, a bit minerally, slightly sweetish, fruity, bitterish finish, quite light-bodied.
1.7 At Max Place, pours yellow with a small head, aroma of fruits, orange, peach, flavor of fruits, wort, light bodied
3.0 Light yellow body white head some lacing. Sweet fruity aroma. Taste has some flavour. Sweet. A bit dry.
2.2 On tap. Pours pale. Orange, sweet, very minerally, little chalky strawberry type stuff. Little acidic. Not great.
2.2 Thin golden of color with a white head. Thin aroma of hops, malt, bread and hops. A flavor of bread, malt, hops and weak bitter.
3.1 An ordinary head with a straw colour. Nice aroma - citrus, passionfruit and pineapple. Nice too with the malt - dry on the mouth but not mouth puckering - just enough malt to keep it balanced. Not a lot going on, but a nice summer beer with nothing added (organic)...
2.5 BB 20.10.17. Poured a crystal clear pale gold with a one-finger white frothy head that retained well and laced well. Carbonation moderate, average and fine to medium. Lots of very fine particles suspended but don’t settle out. Aroma subtly of tropical fruits (hints of passionfruit), a hint of citrus and a hint of malt. Taste subdued of moderately sweet tropical fruits and hints of citrus; low bitterness. Light body. Crisp, clean and smooth with slight sweetness on a short finish. Ordinary
1.3 Bloody awful. An unpleasant, weak beer from non existent sniff to thank god it’s over. Sweet & sour with a hint of spice. Paraphrasing earlier ratings here, like the dregs of a glass of juice after copious amounts of ice have melted into it
2.9 Mild fruit hop aroma. Heaps of malt and hops, more flavour than I was expecting. Fruit, floral, biscuit. Also quite refreshing. Not bad at all.
1.9 Sampled in OV nov 2015. Straw malt aroma. pale yellow, a few floats, low white head. Light bodied, watery ,dry, straw aftertaste. boring.
2.8 Bottle - very very wheaty - a ’slap’ of wheat? More like a shed load - watery, wheaty, weak hops - bit of an awkward surprise as I’m not a wheat beer fan... not awful but not great and not for me.
3.0 Three bottles into a standard washing glass (three separate times). Mild aroma slightly citrus, and a hint of spice. Creamy/cloudy white/yellow colour, reminiscent of Hoegaarden. Very low white and quickly dissipating head and no lacing hence the low mark for appearance. Nice taste. Niether sweet nor bitter - just refreshing with again a hint of citrus and spice reflecting the nose. Crisp, cleansing finish. Went well with loaded Nachos as it cleansed the palate each time. Would be good with fresh seafoods too - but nothing too strong such as a roast - it would be overwhelmed. As the label says - great as the weather warms up. Refreshing with enough flavour to satisfy. Good as an easy drinking or semi-session-able beer. Would / will take to a bbq to drink while the food is cooking.
3.8 Some hops and citrus in the nose. The beer is unfiltered resulting in a hazy pale color amd the head seems fairly long-lasting. More hop bitterness than malt on the tongue but a nice balance. It has a creamy mouthfeel amd very smooth finish. The finish reminds me of Smiling Samoyed’s Fresh Hop Harvest Ale.
3.2 On tap. Nice aroma of citrus. Mild flavour of citrus and pine, light bitter finish. Pretty nice summer beer.
2.5 Light and subtle flavours. Maybe more a session ale. Not a favourite, but pleasant enough.
2.4 Kirkas, ehkä aavistuksen samea hailakankeltainen olut, joka vaahtoaa reilusti alussa. Vaahto kuitenkin katoaa nopeasti oikeastaan tyystin.
1.7 Cloudy yellow with moderately lasting white creamy head. Smells of tangy lemon and yeasty white bread. Taste very thin to absent, kind of like a passionfruit juice with too much ice that has all melted. Palate watery and thin, light bodied, with a long finish of melted tap water ice.
3.0 Trübes helles gelb, wenig schaum, schöner Geruch nach Ananas, recht frischer Geschmack leichte Ananas dann irgendwie ein Kaugummi Geschmack wenig herb
2.9 Vom Fass. hellgelb trübes Bier. Kein Schaum. Citrusaroma. Frischer Hopfengeschmack. zitrone, Kräuter. Süffig 5/2/6/3/13
3.0 Drunk from the bottle. Faint aroma of wheat and grass, a touch of citrus. The taste is also quite subdued, hints of the aforementioned but mostly just a carbonated bitter lager malt feel. It is quite clean and easy to drink but uneventful. For quenching more than to experience flavour.
3.0 4.5%ABV. Steam Ale. Tapped out clear blonde. 4ºSRM. Nose is sweet and beery. There are white bread and wheat flour aromas. Mouthfeel is watery. Palate is cleanly one note with wheat flour, some Granny Smith fruity freshness. No hops.
3.3 Average white frothy head. Fair lacing. Mostly diminishing. Dark yellow clear thin body. Aroma: fruity (pineapple), moderate hops (high quality). Initial flavor: moderate sweet (honeyish and fruity). Final flavor: moderate sweet light bitter; long duration. Palate: light medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. Tasty sweetness, although it was a little cloying. Lacks balance. USD 6.5 50s
