Paladar levemente adocicado, com amargor crescente mas leve, bastante café. Aftertaste confirma o café e amargor. Corpo leve, baixa carbonação. 3.8 (bottle - 22 oz) Dark brown with a tan head. Sweet chocolate and light roasted malt and coffee in the aroma. Chocolate and coffee at the start of the flavor with an incredibly smooth middle and a light wine-like finish.
3.9 Robust porter seeking to connect with the rich and old porter tradition from the British Isles, named after the founder’s daughter. Interesting: "we hope to begin a new tradition of brewing (...) that any black beer lover will enjoy". These noble ambitions aside, this brew has a lot to offer indeed: colour is a very dark burgundy, not to say black, under a relatively thick, creamy, dense, pale beige head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma is strong, complex and perfumey for a 5% ABV beer, and displays everything I expect from an American interpretation of porter: tons of coffee beans, frying bacon, bitter chocolate, beef broth, raisins, fresh paint, fresh rosemary, port wine, vanilla beans, paprika, iron (but in a good, ’bloody’ kind of way - sorry), a very faint suggestion of fennel seed, faint hint of smoked herring, coffee liqueur, dried ginger, dried orange peel. Dryish and ’light’ onset, crisp, dried fruits, raisins, freshly cut vegetables (thinking celery or carrots), weak background hint of charcoal, soft carbo, with a smooth, powdery mouthfeel, middle phase consists of lingering but very restrained fruitiness over a full, soft and bready caramelly maltiness, slightly metallic but not disturbingly so, quite nutty too but low on the chocolate department, which I suppose distinguishes this from a stout. Finishes primarily malty, caramelly, but slick and not cloying at all, with peppery and earthy hops playing a balancing role, along with a long-lasting, black coffee-like roasted bitterness; alcohol remains completely hidden, as ought to be the case in a beer of this strength. This is a very fine robust porter indeed, exemplary for its style, with a remarkably high drinkability. Cheers to miss Chelsea!
3.6 Aroma: roasted malt and fruity sweet. Flavour: roasted chocolate and fruity sweet. Watery mouthfeel. Colour: dark reddish brown with an offwhite head.

3.2 650ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Roasty dark malty aroma has notes of ignoble, coarse, but spicy coffee, , dark chocolate, cocoa powder, herbal hoppy overtones. Taste is minimally sweet, chocolately dark malty, dry to bitter dark chocolate, a touch of milk chocolate, grassy and herbal hoppy overtones, chlorophyllic-oxidized and minimally mineral; slightly too prickling carbonation. Somehow ’Dutch IPA-ic’ in its grassy, mineral, water and carbo aspects.
3.7 Pours black with a khaki head. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and caramel aroma and flavors. Medium body. Very creamy. Chocolate finish.
3.4 Foam disappear rather quickly but leaves a nose with hints of roasted malt and espresso. Taste is bitter and sweet at the same time. Overall a fine and robust porter
