Moylans Dannys Irish Style Red Ale

Moylans Dannys Irish Style Red Ale

This strong Moylan's brew is what keeps those Irish eyes a smiling. Its deep amber radiance has been described by our brewer as the most visually enticing beer. This ale's rich malty flavor, full body, invigorating aroma, and expansive finish empower it to be extremely satisfying and repeatedly enjoyed. Great Western Two Row Pale Malt, De Wolf-Cosyns' Caravienne and Munich Malts are allied to provide the 1.070 beginning specific gravity, while Fuggle and Liberty hops balance this sweetness. A classic rich and malty ale from Ireland. Unlike most "want-to-be" red ales, Moylan's red has a rich caramel character balanced with a low hop profile.

3.7 650ml bottle shared at home. Somewhat hazy reddish brown with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with light to moderate carbonation. Medium sweet- and bitterness. Malts, caramel, yeast, brown sugar, herbs and some spices. Wow, this is tasty!
3.1 Draught at London Pub, Vancouver Amber color. Quite bready beer; also some grains, cereals, light residual sweetness, the bitterness is too low. Simple Amber Ale, not too bad.
3.4 Pours reddish amber. Short-lasting tan head. Aroma is molasses, redcurrant, honey and biscuit. Low carb. Starts a bit sweet. Long finish, not very bitter.
3.3 Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is yeast, zesty light sour citrus. The flavour is light sweet light acid sour with a malt, light caramel, light hop palate and a bubbly mouthfeel. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.
3.3 bottle a amber colored beer with a white head aroma malts caramel fruits spicy some citrus and some hops flavor malts fruits spicy some caramel citrus and hops
3.6 Nice reddish golden clour. Good buttery taste with enough carbonation to complement.
2.9 650ml bottle. Barely clear amber colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Scant malty aroma with an unspecific fruity and minimally nuttily touch. Taste is nuttily malty, nut pellicle, very subtle sweetness, cautious bitter hoppy overtones; surprisingly soft, silk, mouthfilling palate reconciles a little. Quite expressionless.
3.3 650ml bottle. Clear amber pour with chunks of white head. Light twiggy hop aroma. Sweet caramel tones on the tongue. Light blackcurrant fruit lurking at the edges. Decent enough, with just about enough character to make it interesting.
3.4 "this one fits the style to a tee, thiner and dry on the palate. malty, roasted nuts in the forefront with a dry finish. i generally like their stronger beers, but this one is good!"
3.3 Bottle: Served in a taster: Thanks to the Oirschot crew: Thin white lacing. Cloudy orange colored beer. Aromas of honey, some malts, light creamy, light oat, some hay and bread. Flavours of malts, some oat, toast, bread, nuts, some bitters, caramel and some dried leaves. Aftertaste is malty, light bitter, light honey, some bread and caramel. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied and a light creamy texture.
2.9 Draught @eindhovensbierfestival. Clear orange color with a small off-white head. Smells and tastes malts and is sweet. Boring.
3.6 Bottle shared by Dubbel D. Amber colour with a small off-white head. Smells sweet, malts, hops, barley wine. Tastes malts, sweet, some hops, slightly barley wine. Medium body, nice carbo.
2.2 Bottle @ 2nd Tuesday tasting at De Molen, hosted by dEnk. Clear amber pour, no head. Aroma of iced tea with loads of sugar, slightly creamy and some toffee. Flavor is quite sweet, spicy and watery. Boring and bland.
3.0 Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is malty caramel, toffee and light liquorice. Flavour is quite malty, light bitter liquorice note. Some caramel, toffee and vanilla.
2.6 Sampled from bottle @ De Molen 2nd Tuesday Tasting. Clear copper color, small off-white head that diminishes instantly. Aroma is malts, a bit sweetish, caramel, maple syrup perhaps? Taste malts, caramel, sweetness, again some maple syrup or something similar. Average body and carbonation. Meh, not really great.
3.2 Sample bottle @ De Molen 2nd Tuesday tasting. thin white head. Clear amber pour. A bit simple. Lots of malt
3.0 650 ml bottle. Pours a dark copper amber colour with a small head. Aroma of toasted malts, toffee and grass. Flavour of toasted malts, pear, some nuttiness and mild grassy bitterness. Some metallic notes. Light bodied and a bit sticky mouthfeel. Decent.
3.1 On draught at Shade Tree Cycle - ABQ. Clear deep amber. Or with lasting white head. No big aromas but light-to-medium body with early malty flavor balance then dry finish. Clean hops and malt make for a nice easy-drinking ale.
3.7 22 oz bottle- Aroma was light as well the initial drink but then hits you with some citrus from the hops. Medium body of malts flavors and mouth-feel with a nice bittering feel and flavoring that lasts afterwards, but not where it’s a bad bittering aftertaste. Off orange color with white head.
4.4 Fantástica "Red Ale" se não a melhor neste estilo, o retrogosto de caramelo é mais equilibrado que o comum, possui uma excelente carbonatação e um corpo incrível quase que cremoso.
3.3 Bottle. Hazy to unclear hazelnut red brown with a medium sized diminishing off white head. Grain, crackers, raisins, caramel, dark berries, light herbal/flowery hop notes. Medium body, oily texture but the finish is a bit thin. Light/medium sweet and bitter. Pretty easy drinking malt focused brew, but I don’t find it overly interesting.
3.0 On tap @ Moylans. Amber/orange pour with an off-white head. The nose is sweet caramel, earthy hops, and toffee. Kind of watery, though. Some light esters. Flavor is just kind of sweet. Watery mouthfeel. Earthy hops provide light bitterness. Caramel, toffee, and grass. A fair amount of apple, too.
4.1 Moylan’s Danny’s Irish Style Red Ale has a very thick, foamy, cream-colored head, and a fairly hazy, extremely effervescent, amber appearance, with exceptionally heavy lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweetness, some sort of citrus, and brown bread crust. Taste is of that unusual citrus (white grape juice?), brown bread crust, a bit of tea, sweetness, and low bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Moylan’s Danny’s Irish Style Red Ale finishes mellow and easy drinking. I highly recommend this one! RJT
3.2 This beer is golden with a slight amber undertone. It has a mil malty aroma. It is very smooth and easy to drink. A crisp clean aftertaste. Much more mild than your average red ale.
2.9 280913/161113: Brown color with little foam. Flavor of caramel malt. A bit dull and with a strange earthed flavor..
3.4 Sample at DØE 2013. Orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of caramel, malt, fruit and hints of hops.
3.1 (bottle 28 /09-2013) Low white head, slightly unclear yellow color, caramel aroma, medium co2.
2.3 Great color but surprisingly bitter for an Irish red. Not a huge fan. I didn't notice much of the malt notes raved about in the description.
3.1 Bottle@Voldby Ølmesse - Amber/orange pour with off-white head. Strong malty character this, some caramel, toffee, bready, some fruit, slightly bitter finish.
3.0 Bottle@Voldby Ølmesse. Orange colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and some fruit notes. Rich malty taste, caramel. Little bitterness.
