3.5 On tap at St. Augustine’s. Aroma candied tropical fruits, citrusy. Taste is hoppy piney bitterness. Same aftertaste. Not bad.
3.1 Pours cloudy golden. Aroma is hoppy, pine and grass. Taste is hoppy, lots of grass. Lacking balance.
3.6 Bottle sample at Kalmar Ölfestival. Hazy golden with white head. Aroma is citrusy, pale malt, pine and slight caramel. Taste is similar, pine more present in the mouth. Moderately bitter finish .
3.2 Draft: Poured a golden with white head. Aroma was light hops. Taste was malty and hops mix, pretty balanced.
3.6 Bottle from Boise Co-op. More earthy and dirty than the norm for West Coast IPAs. Musty, funky hops and malt. Lightly hazy golden pour with small creamy head. Gentle Fruit overtones, not overly bitter, great gateway IPA.
3.8 Draft at the brewery, served in a flight. Pours a clear bright gold with a small white head that leaves spots of lace in the glass. Notes of lemon citrus, grass, pale and sweet malts, tea, herbs, and grass. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, bright mouthfeel. This was the biggest standout of the bunch - a good West Coast IPA.
3.3 Nose is citrus, light pine, and a caramel backbone. Lightly hazy yellow orange with a medium heavy lacing off white head. Flavor is moderately bitter with some white pepperiness.
3.4 [2/1/16] Draught at Moylan’s Brewery in Novato. Golden. Citric hops aroma. Flavor has a bit of sweetish malt, and moderately bitter citric hops. Medium-bodied.
3.1 Draught at Moylans. Clear deep golden liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, tangerine, light grain, mango and light caramel. Taste is very light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of citrus, grain and tangerine. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. OK.
3.0 On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with small frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is pine and citrus. Medium mouth, pine, resin finish, good.
3.5 Draft at the brewpub. Clear bright golden orange coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is decent orange rind, pine and orange rind, american c Hoo. Little biscuit on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of sticky hop, burnt pine and toast, lemon rind. Palate is grainy, moderate carbonation, sticky rein. Assertive slightly rough hop bitterness. Decent IPA.
3.4 Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear, bright gold with a creamy white head. Some juicy citrus in the nose, minerals, pine. Medium sweet flavor with light alcohol, floral hops, pale bread, bitter grass and pine. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish, somewhat warming, with more floral hops and grassy bitterness. Just OK.
3.9 Keg at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels. Hazy gold with white head. Straight into a hoppy mix here, the hops tasted a little like Nelson Sauvin with gooseberry hints along with a fair dose of orange zest. Tangy throughout and a pleasant crisp finish. Very nice.
3.5 Sample on tap at the brewpub. Clear gold pour with lacy white head. Aroma is hoppy, very piney, light citrus. Taste is very bitter, piney, resinous, light malty sweetness. Palate is med bodied. Decent old school IPA.
3.6 Draft @ Hoppy Loft.
3.6 Tasting glass draft @ Hoppy Loft. Hazy amber, little off-white head. Nose is hoppy peach with very thick yeast, lightly moldy quality to the thick yeast. Taste is unbalanced combo of moldy yeast, heavy harsh bitter hops, plastic, bitter weeds, herbal, very bitter, herbal peel & plaster yeast. Plaster yeast. Promising but too unbalanced, aggressive & yeasty to fully work.
3.2 Ei päiväystä. Sameahko vaaleankeltainen väri, iso iso vaahto joka tulvii yli. Hiivainen, raikkaahko, hedelmäinen, raa’an leipäisä tuoksu. Suutuntuma hyvin alkoholinen, hyökkäävä, hapokas, raikas, rusinaa? Mukava tuttavuus, liian kuiva ja IPAmainen ollakseen uudelleen nautittava.
3.6 7th December 2015 Almost clear gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Thin pale malts, mild to medium sweet. Bitter pine hops, orange peel. The pine smooths out. Hop spice. Dry citric pith. Citric peel bitter finish. A little pithy but pretty drinkable.
3.1 Cloudy deep gold with a foamy/rocky sticky white head. Sticky and earthy citrusy aroma with bitter earthy hop resins and grassy undertones. Earthy hop profile on the flavor with some earthy grassy and piney bitterness, built on a bland pale malt backbone. A tad bit boozy too.
3.8 Aroma of sweet hops and some malt. Appearance is great, an almost opaque golden hazy brown with foamy lacing. Taste is exactly like the aroma.. clean, fruity, hoppy. Not too bitter or abrasive.
3.0 Poured from 1 pint 6 fl oz bottle. Orangey yellow with white head. Citrusy hops taste in the mouth, but overly powerful dry resinous finish with woody like character that puts me off a bit.
2.3 Poured from a bottle. The beer has a deep golden hue as promised by the label and a nice frothy white head. aroma of hops and a little malts. Interesting first taste but leaves a very bitter after taste. It’s not the alcohol, rather something in the flavor. It definitely keeps me drinking, but it’s mainly to get rid of the taste
2.6 On tap at Cardinal in Stavanger, Norway. Poured clear with good head. Dark golden color. Aroma was pleasant. Hop bitterness was a bit overwhelming, with not much balance IMO. It was a harsh bitterness that seemed to be a throwback to the hop / IBU race of the late 90s early 2000s. I often wonder if any delicate hop flavors / aromas were lost given the time to transport to Norway. Bitterness was too harsh to enjoy
3.5 On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours light hazy golden with a small creamy white head. Aroma of fruity hops, resiny and piney hops, lovely and inviting. Taste is clean crisp resiny hops, well balanced with a long dry moreish clean aftertaste.
3.6 Draught at Taphouse. High creamy and long lasting off-white head. Cloudy thin looking light yellow body. Mild fruity aroma. Very dry grass lemon grapefruit pine flavor with a high carbonation and a long dry finish. Alcohol level seems just right.
3.8 On tap at Taphouse in Copenhagen. Hoppy smell with citrus. Similar taste with grapefruit. Strong and long bitterness. Medium carbonation. Not the cleanest hop aroma, but still a nice beer.
3.7 from Birreria Edelweiss@Alba Adriatica - quite clear amber-orange beer with a persistent beige foam; solid flowery and resiney hoppiness; full-bodied, some sweetness and a solid bitterness; quite dry and long caramelish, spicy and piney finish
3.9 Bottle from Safeway in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is pine, citrusy hops. Taste is a lovely balance of hops and malts. Solid... and one of the better IPAs currently wasting away on a Safeway shelf.
3.8 Keg the grove Huddersfield. Golden thin head. Aroma lots grapefruit lemon citrus taste same good bready malts great stong very bitter grassy hops. Ok body. Intresting ipa.
3.8 Tap @ basement beer bar, Aalborg. Aroma of citra, pine, caramel malt. Clear amber with tiny head, none. Heavy bitterness, moderate caramel sweetness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, bitter long finish.
