4.0 Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy amber with little off-white head. Aroma of caramel, some roasted notes, raisins. Taste is pretty bitter. Medium bodied.
3.3 Sample from a bottle. Hazy amber colour with an ff-white head. Aroma and flavour of dried fruit, caramel, malt, spice, alcohol, hops and a sweet finish.
3.2 Grunt fill from Albertsons. Initially thought it may have gone flat, but it’s a mild pour with a fairly heavy weight. Mahogany pour with a ring if beige head. Malt and molasses on the aroma, taste also is malt forward. A bit of a tang on the tail end, finishes sweet. Doesn’t seem overly boozy.
4.0 As Moylan’s Old Blarney Barleywine Style Ale, bomber bought at De Caigny. Creamy, rather thick and dense, regular, lightly lacing, pale yellowish beige head over a truly beautiful coppery vermillion red, clear beer with fierce fizz rising up through the glass, sustaining the head. Rich and sweet aroma of toffee, biscuit, dried fig, gingerbread, brown rum, bitter honey, apricot, candied orange, cookies, dried ginger powder, strawberry liqueur, candied cherry, dry earth, hints of walnut shells, fried egg, grapefruit peel, brandy, hazelnut oil, amaro, raw beetroot, dried banana. Sweetish onset, lots of dried fruit, candied orange and yellow raisin with a basic, underlying sourish balance and some faint cured meat-like umami somewhere, bittering flavors already apparent in an early stage, spritzy carbo, supple oily body, slick and a bit resinous but perhaps somewhat less vinous than expected from the style, still full and creamy though, with a notably caramelly and very nutty malt middle quickly turning toasted bitter, a bitterness further reinforced with a firm dosis of hoppiness, spicy and peppery in character with subdued grapefruity notes retronasally. This hop bitterness is long-stretched and a tad tonic water-like in the end, blending in well with the bittersweet maltiness which goes down the throat smoothly. Rum-like alcohol heat is undeniable, balancing on the brink of astringency and making the ending perhaps a tad more wry than it could and should have been, a bit reminiscent of some classic bitter liqueur. Pleasant warm bittersweetness lingers in the throat for a long time after swallowing. In all, very typical American style barleywine, lots of malt fruitiness and sweetness as well as alcohol warmth, and also lots of hop bitterness. Very enjoyable sipper, though admittedly there are still more complex and refined examples in this particular league of beers.
4.8 Great taste of caramel, butterscotch, chocolate. Long lasting flavour, not too sweet.
3.8 Pours a burnt amber color with an off white head. Caramel, toffee, floral, pine, resin, toast, biscuit, fruity hop, molasses and light booze aroma and flavors. Full body and moderate carbonation. Molasses, toffee and booze finish.

3.7 Draft: Poured a caramel with a tan color head. Aroma is light malt. Taste was sweet sticky boozy and malt.
3.6 Bottle. Colort was a brownish amber color. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit, ripe fruit, and earth/roasted. Malty, alcohol hidden. Would have liked more sweetness. Earthy and roasted
2.7 On tap @ the brewpub during RateBeer weekend. Reddish orange appearance with an off white head. Caramel, berry candy, and burnt sugar in the nose. High boost and quite sweet. Cough syrup, caramel, toffee, and raspberries in the flavor. No thanks.
3.7 Overall: Sweet, burned toffee. Note: Bottle 650 ml at De Klomp. Reviewed 2016-04-11.
3.3 Keg at the brewpub, 01/02/16. Rich chestnut brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is caramel, nutty, wooded notes, airy malt, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises fruit cake, toffee, hazelnuts, light spice, figs. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, light boost in a sweet close. Ok regulation BW if a touch pedestrian.
3.2 Draft at the brewery, served in a flight. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head that settles into a ring and leaves spots of film in the glass. Notes of brown sugar, caramel, toast, and earth. Pretty straightforward. Medium-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. One-dimensional.
3.6 Draft at the brewpub. Clear amber reddy amber coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is nutty. Caramel, toffee, red berry. Flavour is nutty toffee, caramel, red berry. Palate is full and sticky. Some harsh alcohol bite in the finish.

3.5 Draft at source. Nose is malty weren’t with a bit of peppery hops. Very clear deep red pour with orange highlights. Taste is all malt sugar initially without caramel sweetness. A touch of peppery alcohol in the finish. Warming. Good.

4.5 I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments.
3.3 Some floral hops with tastes of caramel, orange marmalade and malt, which should be a good thing. Rather thin and disappointing nevertheless.
3.6 Vinous aroma in a cloudy light brown pour. Taste is surprisingly light to start but builds in subtlety and complexity from there. While this is not one of my favoured styles I reckon this is a nice example of it.
4.0 Cooper with a small beige head. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, bread, citric fruits, plums, hazelnut. Taste is strong chocolate, cocoa and caramel, some coffee, herbal botterness, mint, dried fruits. Bitter aftertaste. Warming mouthfeel.
3.5 Bottle in a wine glass at Split thy Skull. Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma of caramel and toffee malts, some light hops, and light bitterness. Flavor sort of watery. Lighter texture than others. Not the best barley wine.
4.5 Has a brown sugar and light coffee aroma and opaque dark brown color. The flavor has lots of sugar and hints of whiskey.
3.7 On tap at Global Brew. Pours a dark brown with a thin light tan head. Vinous aroma. Taste is smokey dark roasted malt, dried dark fruit, molasses and a bit of whiskey and hop bitterness. Lots of warmth after the swallow. Strong and assertive, but really good.
3.8 Rated on 11-02-2013 (Bottle) The appearance is a small smooth beige head with a short retention, transparent amber body, extremely fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt, pine hops, grassy, and alcohol. The flavor is moderately bitter, pine hops, caramel malt, sweet, and the ABV makes an appearance. The mouthfeel has an alcohol burn on the first taste then is a bit thick and chewy. This beer is medium-full bodied. A sipping beer for sure. It has a very enjoyable flavor and is worth trying. It is a barley wine I would drink again.
4.0 Cervesa bastant dolça però amb un petit toc llupolitzat que la fa molt interessant. Cerveza bastante dulce pero con un pequeño toque lupulizado que la hace muy interesante.
