Muifelbrouwerij Zuster Agatha

Muifelbrouwerij Zuster Agatha

Zuster Agatha is a dark beer with 10% ABV. Brewed according to the Trappist traditions and only natural ingredients. Althoug these types of beer a normally named after male chatholics the brewer still decided to name it after Sister Agatha.

It’s a beer to enjoy in peace and quite. It has a complex aroma with fruit, raisins and roasted malts. It’s full and solid with a surprisingly dry finish. It invites you to take another sip. Please be careful with this high alcoholic beer as the strenght might attack you by surprise.

Brewed for and with the recipe of de Muifel Brouwerij (http://www.muifelbrouwerij.nl/).

3.6 Bottle in the craft beer advent calendar courtesy of Pix. Pours deep amber with a frothy cream head. Sweet peppery aroma. The taste has sweet caramel, toffee and stewed fruits with light peppery spice. Not overly assertive flavours, but very nice.
3.4 Bottle from Jumbo. Dark red brown, clear with offwhite thick head. Deep grape and sugar aroma. Roasted grain, loamy with alcoholic buzz. Nice
4.0 Very rich flavour, caramel sweetness and raisin bitterness blend very well with roasted malt, toffee, figs and herbal notes. Raisin aftertaste lingers. A very good quad showcasing yet again the excellence of Dutch beer
3.5 F: big, pale tanned, good retention. C: dark brown, hazy. A: malty, caramel, herbal, yeasty, chocolate, bit toffee, bit dried fruits. T: malty, caramel, dried fruits, herbal, bit toffee, nutty, bit metallic, biscuits, medium to full body yet quite simple all together, lower carbonation, good one, enjoyed, 33cl bottle from Beerwulf webshop.
3.6 Bouteille.
Donker, vol, moutig, lekker! En bovendien die eigenwijze Muiffel afdronk.
4.1 24th June 2018, bottle from Plus, Tilburg. Hotel room tasting. Pours clear dark amber with a huge, frothy, tan head; lots of lacing. Inviting aroma of caramel, licorice, tea leaves, Turkish delight, candied apple (as from the funfair), almond, fruit liqueur, fudge. Medium to heavy malty sweet onset, lots of caramel & fudge, some coffee liqueur and plum, and light spicy bitter with hints of herbs & nuts, countering that massive sweetness. Dryish, spicy & herbal hoppy finish, lingering caramel & warming, sugary fruit liqueur (Grand Marnier style or the likes). Full body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Classic Quad, very correct, I love this kind of brews.
4.3 Fles 33cl thuis. Engelse drop, rozijn, prettig zoet, drogig, pruim. (4-2014).
3.5 Piana obfita, nietrwała, barwa rubinowa z pływającymi drobinami. W aromacie słabo - stary chmiel, rodzynki, karmel i przyprawy... W smaku dość słodkie, są suszone i kandyzowane owoce, jest melasa, miód spadziowy, całość ładnie skontrowana średnią, ziołową goryczką, nieco rozgrzewający finisz. W odczuciu delikatnie oleiste, lepkie, z wysokim wysyceniem. Ogólnie całkiem ok, gdyby poprawić zapach byłoby znacznie lepiej. Dębiny także nie czuć...
3.3 Bottle 33cl. Clear brown with a beige head. Malty aroma, caramel, toffee. Same taste as aroma, but nicely balanced with hops, making it easy to drink. Medium finish
3.4 A real quadruple. Very dark amber color. Not too much aromas besides some sweet caramel. Firm of white head. Taste is sweet , caramel, raisins. High in alcohol modest in carbonation. Nice beer.
3.6 Bottle. Color: Clear ruby, beige head. Taste: Over medium sweet, notes of caramel and chocolate. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.2 Barwa brunatna, piana obfita, lekko przybrudzona. Aromat mało intensywny, suszone owoce w cukrze, nuty przyprawowe, karmel.
4.3 Bottled from either HetBierMoment or BierNavigatie. Clear dark brown colored, beautiful beige head. Beautiful aged, very aged, nose, roasted malts, figs, raisins, wow. Flavor is less aged, malts, brown sugar, some hops, bitterness. I am very impressed by the aroma, and I'm glad to find some bitterness in flavor. How do they get these aged notes in a fresh beer. This would be a great base beer for barrel aging.
3.3 Bottled 330ml. -Brownish coloured, medium sized beige head, light caramel and alcohol in the nose. Toasted malt, caramel, alcohol and light nutty with notes of yeasty and dried fruits. Sticky notes in the finish. Nothing special here but in other hand quite poor for quad.
4.0 Concentrated. Roasted. Raisins, bread, dark chocolate, brambles, blackcurrant, sage. Quite bitter for the style.
3.8 Bottle consumed at De Vooruit Gang, Eindhoven, Netherlands, Thursday 28th September 2017 Dirty brown in colour with a light beige head, fruity but with a big malty and also alcoholic presence. Soft in the mouth, nice carbonation, a pretty good quad, enjoying this. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
3.4 Trübes dunkelbraun mit relativ wenig Schaum. Malzig, brauner Zucker, etwas Karamell, Rosinen, dunkle Beeren, leicht alkoholisch.
3.7 (Bottle, 0.33 l - Winter 2014, at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20170808) The beer poured deep dark brown and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had malts, vanilla caramel, chocolate, aniseed and Belgian style yeast. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were dark chocolate, raisins, Belgian style yeast, aniseed, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had raisins, vanilla and bitterness. A pleasant strong brew that hid its high ABV rather well.
3.8 Tap at Arendsnest, 3rd August 17. Pours dark copper. Aroma is sweet booze soaked fruit, caramel. Taste is sweetish, then dry, smoked fruit, caramel. Quite nice
2.8 a little to hoopt of grainy for me. a strong afteranysnijstaste. to Pale for me. it would be better of there would be more taste
3.6 Draft from Arendsnest. Aroma of dark fruits, yeast, caramel... Okay. Flavor is fruity yeast, candy-like, raisin, dark chocolate, banana, marshmallow... Odd one, but tasty. Full bodied, thinnish texture. Good one, but a bit simple.
4.0 Roodbruine quadrupel met een geur van kersen en kruiden. Smaakt gebrand kruidig en ook wat zurig, afdronk lang
3.3 Aromat mocno drozdzowy, dalej ciemne, suszone owoce, smak: powtorka z aromatu jednak przepuszczona przez szklankę wody, zbyt delikatnie i bez charakteru.
