Muskoka Detour

Muskoka Detour

Life’s more interesting when you take the less paddled fork in the river. That’s how we developed Muskoka Detour. One of Ontario’s first ISA's, this dry-hopped brew is truly sessionable, with a rewarding tropical aroma, big hop flavours and a clean finish. The result is a perfect balance of big flavours, with lower alcohol, so you can enjoy taking a detour all day long.

2.5 Seemed somewhat like a ale that was impersonating as a light beer. Had hints of hop and bitter while being light.
2.5 Sampled on draft this beer poured a pale yellow color with a medium sized foamy white head. The aroma was bitter with floral and fruity hops. The flavor was bitter and dryish with floral and fruity hops. Medium length bitter fruity finish. Medium body.
3.2 Some hop bitterness on the nose followed by a more full malt than most session IPAs. On the other hand the hop profile is a bit more muted. Those preferring a low alcohol full bodied ale will like this more than those wanting a very hoppy IPA. I prefer the latter so probably rate it lower than some others. Still a well made beer.
3.4 Aroma is quite floral, also bready, a little bit fruity but can't really identify what - maybe orange? Looks greats, pale gold, very foamy white head. Taste is light sweetness, cereal/bread, some citrus, much lighter than the aroma. Pretty much no bitterness. Carb is low on this one, not sure if it's always like this. Great session IPA that you can grab pretty much Ontario-wide.
Bien.
4.0 Nice IPA not a huge fan of the doughy aroma but a great hoppy IPA taste that is not too bitter or fruity.
4.1 this is what's good about ESA met by an unfiltered body. a crisp balance of hops to malt, with a smooth fruity body of a nice weiss - actually surprised there's no wheat in this beer, as the flavour is so reminiscent. delicious unfiltered magic! (pretty bottles, too)
3.4 One of the few LCBO/Beer Store IPAs that always seems to taste fresh. Looks pretty pale lagerish and tastes a tad watery, but always has a solid hoppiness. EDIT:I've actually had this past the "enjoy before" date and it was still solid, but the latest batch (EB Oct 20 2017, drunk 3-4 weeks before this date) has not been great, rating adjusted down accordingly).
3.2 Draught. Slightly hazy gold, by bubbly white head. Pine and citrus hops. Light and sessionable. Decent
4.3 In theory not that different from their Mad Tom - but in practice yes! This one is way smoother.
3.8 Pours a foamy white head and leaves very little lacing. Has a golden colour appearance. Nice floral and herbal hop aromas with notes of wheats. Flavours of floral and light citrus hops, notes of yeast and tropical fruits. Strong full bodied mouthfeel. Tingling sensation and a bit of tartiness in the finish. Faint carbonation. Definitely a sessionable IPA.
4.7 Awesome Brew. Great and clean. Drinking it for years now. Not all the time but a great treat .......................
3.8 Pour out of 16 oz can, clear orange pour with fluffy white head, aroma brought notes of nice citrus, bread, orange, grapefruit into some grassy, herbal notes. Taste was a mix of grapefruit, orange, lemon into some grass, herbal, and spicy hops, touch of bread backbone, finishing slightly bitter. Nice.
3.7 Tap at Toronto Airport, 13th July 17. Pours clear and clean. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is clean, fresh grass, hay. Drinkable hoppy session stuff.
3.5 The Old Station, Bracebridge, ON, can. Smells citrusy. Light beer color. Good session West Coast IPA.
3.4 January 29, 2014 - at Bar Hop - on draught. Light orange-gold hazy pour, smallish white head. Simple light mango/floral aroma, not much alcohol - not too sweet. Taste follows, more bitterness, still a simple malt bill - fairly standard and decent APA really, a bit grassy, mild. Light body, a bit slick and weakly carbonated, finishes a little disappointingly quickly - could use a tad more bitterness, but quenching.
3.3 Apperance: The color is pale gold, not in the Ipa medium gold to light reddish amber range. It is pretty clean after filtering. But the persistence of the white head doesn't satisfy. Fade too fast. 2/5 Aroma: the smell of the clsssic spicy hop is direct. also some hint of citrus and melon. Taste: sweet at start and soft bitter linger in aftertaste. Stone fruit and spice hoppy. Mouthfeel: Medium-high carbon. Medium body. Smooth.
(Rating #7625)
2.9 Pours clear straw colour with a weak white head. Aroma is slightly herbal. Taste is pretty sweet with a light maltiness, and notes of floral hops and lemon. Body is light-medium and carbonation is full. As light beers go it’s pretty enjoyable.
3.5 Light tasting ale with a bit of pine and some muted citrus flavours. Just okay.
3.1 Can into glass. Piney aroma. Pours pale yellow with white head. Taste is light bitter. Light bodied with slight bitter aftertaste. Decent.
3.4 An ok IPA for a canned beer. Lack a bit of a distinctive touch as an unique IPA.
2.6 Very light in color and taste. Has a nice floral hop backbone but not really much flavor beyond that
3.9 Poured a nice golden honey colour. A small amount of head with good retention. Aroma of citrus and pine is enjoyable. Taste mirrors the nose. Fruity in front, giving way to pine hoppy notes and light bitter notes at the end. It had medium carbonation. Overall a nicely brewed and refreshing beer.
3.5 Can@Winnipeg, Canada. Golden beer with a good white head. The aroma is yeasty with gentle hops. The flavour is hopped with a high degree of bitterness. Overall a good session IPA.
3.4 Yellow, small head, aroma of hops, lemon, fruity, pineapple, mandarine, hoppy flavor, pineapple, mandarine, a bit rotten, medium bodied.
3.5 A mildly hazy beer with a well lasting frothy white head. Nose has nice hoppy citrus, resin and floral notes. Taste is very mildly sweet with a nice hoppy bite on the finish. Medium carbonation and surprisingly rich palate. Very nice and well balanced with a good full body, best session IPA I’ve had so far.
3.4 Can from summer sampler LCBO : Pale amber ale with off-white head. Lively carbonation. Floral/citrus bouquet with pine and hops. Taste is similar. Light body with a nice dry finish, but mild for the style. Very simple, very sessionable, very good.
3.4 341ml bottle from NBLC in Alma, NB. A bright pale amber pour with a ring of white head; lemony citrus aroma; a sharp grapefruit taste; and a smooth finish with some tropical fruit.
