4.4 Little bottle shared by djd07 - thanks again, DJ! Pours an opaque near black color with a tan head that settles into a ring. Massive layers of chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruits, fudge, molasses, and a bit of soy. Medium-full bodied, with moderate carbonation and a fruity, sweet, balanced mouthfeel. Decadent stuff. So rich. Drinks bigger than 9% ABV.
4.2 Bottle at Akkurat. Hell yes! Finally! Pours pitch black, nice finger of khaki/brown head. Fades to nice lacing. Looks inviting....and I have been thinking of this beer for over a year! Personal hype aside, aroma is a bit muted. Hint of oxidation...but it fades as the beer opens. Malted milk balls, BIG anise/black licorice note, light vanilla, light oak, light bourbon/alcohol. Taste follows the nose. Light bourbon, medium chocolate, hint of smoke, medium berry tartness...raspberry, cranberry, cherry....light oak and light bourbon. Big anise/black licorice, as the nose suggests. Balances as it warms. Chocolate covered raspberry emerges. Light herbal/earthy hop note. Finished medium bitter, medium dry, light tart, light smoke, hint of leather, light tobacco, medium oak, light bourbon. All in all, a very nicely balanced beer, but can’t quite say top 50. Very pleased to have tried this....maybe better fresh? Would love to try the base beer/BA version someday to compare notes.
4.2 Bottle sample at Muckfest. Thanks DJ! pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roast, dark fruits and booze. Malt and chocolate flavor with dark fruit accents before a bourbon finish. Great way to cap off Muckfest day 1.
4.3 Bottle shared at muckfest. The beer is a thick brown with a khaki head of foam. Big roasty caramel and toasty notes. Decent coconut. Hefty dark chocolate notes. Sweet roasty tones. Big body and medium carbonation.
4.1 Bottle. muckfest. Leathery. Light oxidation. Lots of fruit and balanced. Well done and balanced. Lotsnofnfudge and fruit.
4.2 250 ml bottle, bottled Dec. 2015, from a trade with GTH, many thanks for this gem! Black body, with a small, dense, coffee-colored head. Aroma of dried fruits, cocoa, toffee, berries, coffee, honey, some wood, some liquorice. Tastes similar, with the berries coming through a bit more and some booze. Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth, medium sweet, medium roasty, a bit dry, a bit alcoholic, with cocoa, wood, some coffee, some liquorice, some berries. Tasty. Very smooth, with the typical notes of the style, which are very well balanced, supported by the subtly integrated berries, coming more through in the taste and especially as the beer warms up. Overall this reminds me more of an Imperial Porter (well the name says it...) and it’s not among my favourite beers, but still a lovely, smooth sipper, with a lot of subtle quality and a glad opportunity to try this. 3.6 0,25l bottle at home shared by Saeglopur, big thanks for this one. Some swedish stufff written on this one. I think it says brewed 10/2014. Bottled 12/2015. black color, small coffee colored head. smells earthy, licorice, bit joghurty, some flowery notes, berries. nice smell overall. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, peppery, berry notes, lightly boozy, bit cardboardish, light juniper, hints of joghurt. finishes dryish with notes of earth, berry notes and light cardboard. hmm, not bad but expected a bit more. Maybe a tad overrated, not a big fan on the balance. a bit harsh even. More like a traditional ale than an imp stout. Overall still rather good though.
4.2 Bottle at Akkurat. Black color, medium sized brown head. Subtle and balanced aromas of honey, raspberries, chocolate, vanilla, burnt sugar, bourbon, cacao and slight roasted, bitter hints. Taste of sweet raspberries, dark chocolate, alcohol, wood, honey, bourbon and slight hazelnuts. Very happy to have tried it.
4.0 25 cL bottle. Black with very little by way of a head. Smells fruity, oaky, and chocolatey. Lots of sugar and alcohol. It’s an interesting nose, heavy on the barrel. I thought cherry at first, as the raspberry has almost no acidity. Tastes much more of raspberry. Sharp and a little tart. Bourbon has a much more distinct flavor. Dominates the flavor. Chocolate, licorice, very rich and boozy. Heavy and quite sweet. Really good, but I think the rarity and hype is building this thing up.
3.8 Thanks dan. Pours a dark black brown with no head. Aromas of oxidized euro Stout and raspberry.
4.4 Bottle. Dark brown pour with a kaki head. Bourbon bouquet. Loads of raspberry up front with chewy caramel and chocolate backbeats. Oak and vanilla lowlights. Really good mouthfeel with a good body. Another gem from the Narke crew.....
4.0 Bottle shared thanks to Dan. Poured black with tan head. Aroma strong raspberries some choc. Light carb med bod. Taste nice raspberry fruit with smokey ashy choc malt.
4.7 Geproefd tijdens Borefts 2016.
4.2 Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty woody bourbon chocolate raspberry aroma. Roasted malty woody bourbon chocolate raspberry flavor. Has a roasted malty woody bourbon chocolate raspberry finish.
4.2 Backlog.
4.2 On tap @BBF’16. Small sample. The aroma has raspberries, roasted malts, some dried fruits, vanilla. Black coloured beer with not much head. The taste is very full with raspberries, roast, hint of chocolate and vanilla, some dried fruits. Very delicious and complex.

4.7 On tap at Borefts Bier Festival, 2016. Pours black with brown head. Lots of chocolate in aroma, vanilla, dried fruits, licorice, berries, wood, sweetish with sour cherry twist. Soft carbonation, oily. Full bodied. Can’t remember impy with so much fruit in it. Great one.

4.1 Gravity keg at Borefts De Molen Beer Festival 2016 Bodegraven, The Netherlands. 23.09.2016. Pour it dark color with small white head. Aroma vanilla and raspberry. Taste smooth coffee with raspberry finish, vanilla, woody, bourbon feel, perfect match again, leather, basement aromas, licorice, chocolate, roasty, full body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish. Worth of waiting in a line for this.
3.7 At BBF, opaque very dark brown color, aroma of cherr, intense chocolate cake and pungent minerals, dominant flavor of sour cherries with chocolate, pleasant balancing sweetness. Nice.
4.6 @ Akkurat Summer 2016. Never had a porter/stout with this much of complexity. Insanely complex with fruits, even a bit of smokeyness. Ridiculous!
4.6 Sampled at Borefts 2016, Bodegraven. Pitch black pour with an fine-grained espresso head. Notes of subtle bourbon, vanilla, raspberries, light tartness, rose-like perfume, chocolate, molasses, a bit of caramel.
4.5 Keg @Borefts 2016. Pours black dark black and thick. Nose and taste is all together there is oak, big fruits, obviously raspberry, vanilla, chocolate. There is liquorice and fruit cake absolutely huge raspberry and some whisky. So raspberry so everything. This would have got a higher mark but right at the back end there was a cardboard note to it and i believe that it might be oxidised.
4.6 Thank you for sharing BE RB Crew! Sampled draft @ Borefts 2016. Day 1 + Day 2. Black, little head. Nose is low umami, faint licorice but largely sweet mocha, chocolate syrup faint raspberry. Taste is warming mocha, chocolate, warming basic chocolate syrup, mocha, basic simple, low bitterness, light raspberry jam in the back. Syrupy body, soft carbonation. Pretty lovely beer, lots of fun.
