3.9 Bottle from 2019. Pours dark black. Cognac is very strong in the nose, slightly overpowering. Tastes of cognac, oak, dark chocolate. It's good but barrel is a little too strong to really enjoy.
4.1 250 mL bottle. Black, with a little transparency at the edges. Smells of fruity barrel notes. Oak, cognac, roasted malt. Tastes very similar. Fruity cognac up front. Oak, roasted malt, earthy tones, and more of the fruity barrel notes. Licorice malt flavor through the back end. Medium heavy with low carbonation. A delicious stout. The barrel is a little strong. I think I have a greater appreciation for the stout behind the barrel more than the barrel.

3.7 Aroma of booze, apples, light smoke, raisins, chocolate. Taste of chocolate, oak, raisins, licorice vanilla. Very dark fruit forward with woody complexity.
3.9 Draft at Borefts 2018. Aroma of licorice, chcolate, booze and medicinal cognac. Flavor of licorice, cognac chocolate, grapes, malt, oak and honey. Nice, but doesn't live up to the insane hype.

4.1 From tap at Borefts 2018. Roasty aroma with chocolate and tangy cognac, wood, dark fruits, cognac is a bit sharp, some alcohol, dark roasted malt. Flavour is bittersweet, body is full. Posh brew, though the cognac was a bit sharper than I expected.

4.4 Gravity. Black color with beige head. Aroma is cognac, grapey, black chocolate, very balanced. Taste is chocolate, light cognac wood, quite the booze. Silky mouthfeel with fine-bubbled carbonation. Extremely well-made, although boozy!
4.0 Sampled from cask at Borefts 2018. Pitch black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of chocolate, nougat, praline and cognac. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty taste of praline, dark chocolate, licorice, vanilla and cognac, followed by a long, rather roasty-bitter, boozy finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice, but quite boozy.
