Mycket gott.
3.9 Hazy yellow color, minimal sized white head. Lots of citrus in aroma, taste is really nice, pretty bitter, citrusy flavor, orange, bitter lemon, sweet finish. Full body, soft carbonation. Great. //bottle from MBR
3.6 Bottle picked up from De Molen Brewery shop, Borefts Beer Festival w/e, consumed at home down the office, Tuesday 4th October 2016 Pours hazy orange amber with a distinctive yolky, sunny glow, not much in the way of carbonation here though. Quite thick in the mouth, sweetish but with a big thick orangey and marmaladey flavour. Quite a bit of oomph, some sweetened orange rind, good but not totally my thing. A6 A3 T8 P4 Ov15 3.6
3.8 Bottle at home. Aroma is fruity hops, citrus, sweetish stone fruits, lots of peach, grapefruit, biscuity malt, syrup, some pine resin. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and above medium bitter with a long bittersweet finish. Body is full. Pretty sweet and syrupy, also juicy and well-hopped. Enjoyable sipper.
3.8 Hazy, yellow-orange colored, small+ white head. Aroma is of malt and caramalt, a strong mix of citrus, floral, spicy and fruity hop notes. Taste is medium to very sweet caramalt, some orange, citrus, floral pine, bit spicy and some fruity hops, moderate+ aroma and bitterness, rather fresh hoppiness, bittersweet finish with noticeable alcohol and warmth. Medium to full bodied, soft+ carbonation, oily-resiny. Fresh hops but alcohol too evident, anyway very good! (bottle, Magic Beer Room, Zagreb)
3.0 Piany prawie brak.
3.8 A random appearance at the MBR Sour Beer gathering. Thanks Ludo! Poured a misty yellow-golden body. Orange juice, heavy, light maltiness. Sweetish orange juice notes ending quite dry and bitter, sweetish, ending bittersweet. Despite the gimmicky stats, this is very much a respectable beer. Hats off, Naparbier!
3.9 Bottle. Clear orange pour, thin white head. Aroma of fruity hops, resin, pine and some caramel. Flavor is quite malty sweet with thick resinous hops. Nice body.
3.8 (Naparbier HopDoom) Bottle 330 ml at home, served into a shaker, ABV 11.5% I see now that I opened the bottle, while having a light hangover from last night.. Deep orange colour on the body, light haze on it and a lazy activity in the glass. Foam is thick, one finger tall, with average retention. Lots of citrusy hops, giving dank aromas of citrus, heavy ripe orange, old grass, light pine. Nice taste, more sweet than I expected though, juicy hops here, light citrus, oranges, light tangerine, notable alcohol, grass, a bit of pine and resin on the finish. Medium thick body, chewy, soft carbonation. Pretty good.
3.8 Very strong imperial IPA by what is at least Spain’s best known ’new school’ craft brewery, with a milky, medium thick, egg-white, bubbly head breaking quickly in the middle but retaining well around the edge, sitting on top of a lightly hazy, deep ’old gold’ coloured beer with somewhat greenish hue, becoming misty and a bit deeper orange coloured with the sediment added. Strong, sweet, exotic aroma with a slightly ’skunky’ twist of old hops, impressions of ripe mango, tangerine, lychee, moldy mandarin peel, honey liqueur, sweet dessert wine, Grand Marnier, melting butter, canned pineapple slices, stale sweat, orange candy, faint stinky hint of sewer water somewhere but luckily very subtly so. Candied sweet onset, quite intense, lots of marmelade, white raisin and candied mango, in other words: ’clean’ fruitiness coated by residual white candi sugar sweetness. Soft carbonation, oily and rather vinous mouthfeel, gliding heavily over the tongue’s surface in a thick caramelly malt sweetness and leaving behind traces of the candied fruit sweetness on the one hand and early announcements of both hops and alcohol on the other hand. The latter two come to full fruition in the finish, where spicy, resinous, grapefruity hops effectuate a long-lasting bitterness (albeit not ’deep’ enough to stop the sweetness from flowing through unabatedly) and white rum- and liqueur-like alcohol heat warms the back of the mouth and throat, fortunately without becoming too astringent. Still, this type of beers is a bit over the top for me: I love a good double IPA and I can appreciate the increased intensity of both sweetness and hop bitterness, but these ’imperial’ IPAs of 11+% ABV are often a bit too alcoholic in taste, to my palate at least. That goes for this one as well: it feels very liqueurish, in much the same way as e.g. Evil Twin’s Molotov Cocktail and others, and I prefer a more ’beery’ character in an IPA. Still, this is a fascinating and intense beer to marvel at, and in spite of the alcoholic sensations left behind in the mouth and throat - and even a bit on the lips - it certainly has an interesting complexity of flavors to it, delivering what it pretends to be, so I will still grant it a high score because of that alone.
4.0 Aroma: Medium aroma of malts, caramel, orange, tropical fruit, hops and citrus. Appearance: Turbid/opaque golden/amber beer with a slight/medium off-white head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, orange and tropical fruit; ends medium bitter and dry with hops and citrus. Overall: This beer is intense, complex and balanced. The intense sweetness gets perfectly balanced by amazing bitterness the loads of hops provide.
4.1 33cl bottle at home. Hazy orange with a small white head. Full body with low to moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with nice bitterness. Tropical fruits, peach, pine, spices and caramel. Very good.
3.7 The label and name certainly prepare you for something extreme. So is it? Well, it delivers in punch I’d say, with string pale malts, alcohol, sharp and intense hops. Would have liked some more foam. (33cl bottle from Etre Gourmet)
3.6 On tap @ Brewberry Paris. Robe orange foncée. Nez agrumes et fruits tropicaux. Miel, sucre en bouche. Palais long et légèrement amer. Alcool présent mais pas écoeurant. Belle réussite.
3.9 Orange colour, white head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, peach. Taste is light to medium sweet, light bitter. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Pretty juicy.
4.1 Uit de fles geschonken. Mooi oranjegeel bier.
Wundervoll. 0,33/3,70 Euro. Bottle aus dem GROWLER in Barcelona.
4.0 33cl bottle. Hazy bright orange with a thin white head. Tons of tropical fruit in this one, papaya, pineapple, a bit of passion fruit, a very light grapefruit feeling, all that on top of a pretty thick malty-caramely-honey sweet layer. The alcohol is a bit present in the after-taste, but I would have never guessed it’s 11.5%. Overall, very balanced and enjoyable, even though leaning a bit towards the sweet side.
3.7 330ml bottle bought at Habemus Birra. Frothy pearl white head, scattered lacing on the glassware, hazy orange coloured body. Smell of mango and apricot. Solid fruity flavours of peaches, mango and apricot joined by herbal hops. Rather heavy bitterness to a lingering finish. Well rounded on the swallow. Excellent bitter fruity sipper (hotel room, Alicante 02.06.2016).
3.9 From XXXII. In Teku glass. Reading CSHTP6 Ch22. ABV very well hidden behind a ultra fruity cloak, that reminds me orange. Not much bitter, more like a fruits juice. Not what I like in a IPA but pretty good if you expect a fruit juice kind of IPA.
3.9 Bottle. Golden color. Grass, grapefruit, Malty piney notes and citrus in the aroma, slightly herbal, green tea. Malty sweet alcoholic flavor with citrus, tea Leaves, white pepper and pineapple. Delicious. Powerful.
3.9 Bottle from La Vache Folle. Unclear golden coloured with an off white head. Nose is caramel malts, grapefruits, mango, tropical fruits. Flavour is light malted, tropical fruits, bit of citrus and pine. Sticky and juicy. Fairly sweet. Medium carbonation. Finish is fairly sweet.
4.2 Bottle from Drank van de Meisjes, small sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma is very hoppy of pine, tropical fruit, resin, pineapple, mango, slight wheaty malt. Medium to high bitterness in taste, some tropical fruit sweetness. Very good.
4.0 Clear yellow colored, small white head. Beautiful hoppy nose (simcoe?), some malts, fruity notes. Massive bitter flavor, pronounced fruityness, hops, some malty notes, ethanol clearly present. Heavy, but pretty good DIPA.
4.0 Aromat to potężne chmielowe uderzenie, tropikalne owoce, żywica, skórka z graejpfruta. Cudowny.
4.0 Draught at La Cerveteca. Cloudy, amber gold. Aroma is all sweet tropical fruit. Strong boozy fruit with a lot of hops. Very fun find.
4.3 Bottle, pours hazy yellow/orange with a white head. Very hoppy aroma, citrussy and floral, slightly weedy. Taste has a big citrus bang with orange, lime and a bit of grapefruit, as well as pine/ resin, slowly the maltiness kicks in ending with dried pineapple and apricot. Medium sweet and high but rounded bitterness, oily texture, full body, average carbonation. Fairly dry tea like finish with candied fruit. Great strong iipa, a juicy fruity hop bomb without too much malty sweetness. Lovely balance for the style.
