Nebraska Brunette Nut Brown (2010- )

Nebraska Brunette Nut Brown (2010- )

Our version of the classic English-style Brown Ale has a blend of six different malts and a hop schedule that results in a low hop character. The unique malt character brings to mind the taste of a blend of various nuts. Coffee, toffee, caramel tend to come to mind in this excellent session Ale.

2.4 There is not much nose to this. This has a deep amber brown color. The flavor is odd in that is very light bodied and almost watery with a slight tart sour note to it. The nutty malty aftertaste on this is better than any other part. Very close to a Newcastle but was hoping for a bit more body and flavor.
2.5 12 floz can @ Beijing China
3.4 Can. It poured a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of malts, caramel, nuts and coffee. The taste was similar to the aroma with more malts, caramel, nuts, coffee and a touch of hops with medium carbonation and a nice firm aftertaste. Tasty.
2.9 12floz can, COD: 11.14.2017, $1.75 unit cost, pint glass. Here is a decent mellow brown ale - it has clarity, small amount of head, a hazelnut inflected aroma, plain pecan flavor, tempered feel with low bitterness.
2.8 33cl can from olé super market Shanghai. pours brown with little head. nutty malty aroma with sweet honey and caramel taste.
3.3 Draft @ Nebraska- Pours clear orange brown with a white head, some lacing. Nice caramel & toffee notes, sweet and dry. Nice!
3.4 Sampler at brewpub. Pours dark brown with a brown head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Solid nut and caramel malt notes on the nose and tongue. Finished clean.
3.1 0,355l can from Beergium. Copper brown beer with small head. Aroma has nuts, sugar, malts, syrup and bread. Taste has malts and nuts. Overall the taste is not so strong as aroma. Medium- or even quite light body.
3.6 Pours a rich copper color with off white head. Malty aroma. Nutty malty flavor. Notes: on tap at the brewpub, June ’17
2.8 (can, 35.5cl) Hazy, ruby brown colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Slightly dusty, dark malty and slightly nutty aroma with notes of caramel and red berries. Moderately sweet and delicately sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Slightly dark malt character with hints of caramel and present notes of red and dark berries, as well as shades of chocolate far in the background; moderately sweet and delicately sour-fruity finish. Not really convincing. 20.VI.17
3.0 4.7%ABV. Brown ale. Poured out dark amber brown. 20SRM. Nose is leather, sweat sock, roasted. Mouthfeel is beery. Palate has some dark toast, black bread. Finish is flat.
2.9 Can. Brown color with tan head and lacing. Sweet dried fruit aroma with toffee notes. Toffee with some caramel notes upfront followed by some peanut and chocolate notes.
3.0 355ml can. Hazy, dark brown colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Nuttily dark malty and slightly fruity hoppy aroma, hints of hazelnut, some caramel and toffee, hints of red berries. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, hints of hazelnut, caramel, fruity hoppy overtones with hints of orange, a minimally artifical fruity touch of cherry and red berries. So-so.
1.9 Draught > Flying Saucer. Weak flavor and a crazy thin palate. Hardly any aroma too. This is not a good brown. Thankfully it is only $3 b/c it's Monday.
3.3 I had this at Flying Saucer in KC. Pours brown like tea with a thick tan head. Taste nutty, caramel, mild finish. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again.
3.5 can @ home clear nut brown, cappuccino head alcohol, nutmeg, caramel, chocolate, walnut light palate, biscuit, vanilla, cream, milk chocolate
2.3 Canned, 355 ml from Beergium, shared with Max and JFK10000. Pours brown with medium off-white head. Malty, some caramel, light chocolate, watery, bland. Light to medium bodied. Not impressed.
4.2 Pours a slightly hazy brown copper with a small off white head that left no lacing around the pint glass. The aroma is roasted malts, nuttiness, brown bread crust. The flavor is similar to the aroma but the nuttiness is even more prevalent in the flavor. The mouthfeel is light to medium and the drinkability is high.
3.1 0,355 l can BB 30.06.2017 from Biervana bread, cereal, herbs, dough, red-brown color, hazy, creamy brown foam head, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium sourness, medium body, oily feel, average / almost lively carbonation,
3.4 Can: Hazy mahogany with a small tan head. Nutty, caramel aroma. Taste is tangy-sweet caramel malt, chocolate. Light wood/nut bitter. Nice and solid.
2.9 Can. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel nutty flavor. Has a slightly roasted malty nutty caramel finish.
350ml CAN from BEERGIUM. 2,70 Euro.
2.4 Can from Beergium. Aroma is malt, caramel, toffee, nuts, with a touch of regurgitated chewing tobacco. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is light to medium, bit thinnish. Not a fan of this one.
3.8 This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a semi-dark rugged brown color with a thin finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated pretty quick. Sly messy lacing. The aroma takes the sweet roasted nuttiness to blend with the caramel and toffee malts. Smooth light milk chocolate. Subtle roasty coffee bean. The flavor brings about the roasty qualities to glide into the smooth sweet malts. Nuttiness is there and leads into a gentle aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Nicely carbonated. Smooth roasty notes hit my tongue nicely. Overall, this one was a very nice brown ale that I would have again.
2.6 12 oz undated can purchased cold just a few days ago. Dark reddish-brown body with a very good head and respectable lacing. The mouthfeel is good too, but the aroma and flavor not so much. The dank, earthy aroma is particularly disappointing while the flavor is partly redeemed by a decent finish.
3.4 Can. Nutty chocolate malt and grass aroma. Dark brown with moderate light tan head. Mildly sweet nutty chocolate malt and moderately bitter weedy grass flavor. Good body.
3.4 DATE: October 20, 2016... OCCASION: SGO computed, time to mentally prepare for Friday... GLASSWARE: Kisatsky Tavern pint... pours a dark chestnut brown, almost opaque body... forced before light, some bubbles show through... a single-finger off-white head holds strong to a foamy ring... the aroma is nutty--almonds, pecans--though the mango and grapefruit offer a welcome dimension... the toasted bread malts suggest a moderate sweetness... the body is smooth, effervescent at the throat, and mild at the teeth... sessionable as the label professes... frothy too, suggesting freshness... medium-bodied, but not weighty... the flavor profile is dominated by hazelnut and pecan, toasted oats and bread, while the hops suggest citrus--light mango, orange, lemon--to build a reasonably balanced taste... nothing bad to say about this offering--my first from Nebraska, I believe... a competent, serviceable brown ale that I wouldn’t mind having again...
3.6 Solid brown ale...nutty chocolate caramel and toffee tastes...solid beer first from this brewer...nice showing!
3.6 Can:   Brown pour, moderate light beige head, fairly nice lacing.   Toasted malt nose, nutty, subtle chocolate.   Similar tongue, very smooth and clean.   Coming across as a solid example.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Nutty finish, a little bready, mild sweetness, some chocolate too.   Really nice example!
2.8 12 oz can. Pours light ruby brown with a medium fluffy light tan head that retains well and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is toasted chocolate malts with a little nuttiness. The flavor is sweet toasted chocolate and caramel malts with some graininess and a bit of a metallic twang. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, an OK brown with some off notes.
