Nebraska India Pale Ale (2011- )

Our West Coast inspired India Pale Ale is rich in flavor and abundant in citrus, pine, and floral aromatics created through a wonderful infusion of Citra hops. Completely refreshing and possessing a medium mouthfeel, crisp bitterness, and nearly balanced malts. Finishes dry with a head that creates beautiful lacing down the entire glass. A truly inspired and coveted IPA.

3.7 12 oz. can. Pours pale gold with a small white head. Aroma and flavors of citrus, tropical fruit, melon, pine, resin. Very good.
3.8 This canned brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated body hazy yellow orange colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy. The semi-sharp mouthfeel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of bitter hops and malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
3.8 Rated on 10-21-2017. Canned 08/03/17. The appearance is a medium sized smooth off-white head that is mostly lasting, golden transparent body, lively, fast rising carbonation, and spotty, soapy lacing. The aroma presents citrus hops, pine hops, fruity, mango, tangerine, sweet, grapefruit, grass, floral, caramel, and malt. The flavor is medium bitter, citrus hops, pine hops, fruity, toffee, grapefruit, tangerine, sweet, some mango, caramel, malt, and a dry finish. The mouthfeel is medium carbonation, smooth and some crispness. This beer is medium bodied. This beer has a bitter dry finish and very tasty. The flavors come together very well making this a beer worth trying and a beer that I would purchase again.
3.8 Can. Pours a slightly hazy gold with an off-white head. Citrus, pine, and floral hops, and malt in the taste and aroma.
2.3 Pours a hazy orange color. Almost no head and no lacing. A grainy aroma. Bitterness immediately and not much else. Maybe some pith flavor.
0.5 Earlier Rating: 9/19/2017 Total Score: 3.7 355ml can from olé supermarket Shanghai. pours hazy golden with nice big head. sweet fruity aroma with nice tropical flavours. nce round hoppy bitterness in after taste. great beer! and really like the can designs.
3.2 August 2017 - Can shared at Chriso's Pre-GBBF Shindig. Thanks! As 'Nebraska IPA'. Clear golden yellow, still with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma is a little floral, notes of chalk. Body is smooth with soft to tingly carbonation. Taste is again chalky and floral, stones, malt character is a little buttery. Simple and OK. (5-4-6-4-13=3.2)
4.0 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/9/2017. Pours slightly hazy deep golden/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.9%. Overall this is an excellent IPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and quite refreshing to drink; despite the aggressively drying bitter finish. Insanely dank and vibrant hop character; great malt backbone with no residual sweetness. Great mix of Citra and resinous/rindy Columbus hop character. A very enjoyable offering.
3.3 Can at C&R Pre-GBBF Tasting 2017. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, oily, brioche, candy, caramel, tangerine, white sugar and orange marmalade. The taste is slick, oily, resinous pine, toffee, caramel, sticky, piss, bread and some orange citrus peel. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth - feel. A reasonable IPA which wouldn't really stand out in a crowd.
3.8 Draft @ Nebraska - Pours clear pale orange, white head, some lacing. Less bitter with tons of citrusy pine notes, nice!
3.5 Sampler at brewpub. Pours golden with a white head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Lots of pine and grapefruit on the nose and tongue. Finished with some solid bitterness. Not bad.
3.9 Can. Pours amber with a nice tan head. Aroma of pine, bright grass, and tropical fruit. Sharp bitterness, resinous, with a nice finish.
4.0 Can at Chriso pre GBBF Shindig 2017. Clear gold lasting white head. good hoppy aroma. Good grapefruit. Good hop. Liked it. Earlier Rating: 5/23/2016 Total Score: 3.4 Can from The Bottle Shop Canterbury and drunk at home. Dark amber almost a russet colour lasting cream coloured head. It’s actually not too bad. I was expecting a bit of a crystal malt nightmare, but the hops are fine and so are the malts. Some bitterness on the finish. Some caramel flavour. Some pink grapefruit. Mild bitterness, not harsh. A mix of pink grapefruit and fudge. OK to be honest. Not overly sweet but it’s there. Fine.
3.6 Can shared at Chris & Ruth’s pre-GBBF Shindig 2017 - Part 1. A clear deep golden beer with a small white head. Aroma of fruity hops, yellow fruits, not too bitter. Taste of quite bitter hops, yellow fruits, peach.
3.9 Winning IPA from Nebraska, full of citric and resinous hops, bright and semisweet yet with a lingering bitterness on the finish. Lemon and grapefruit form the center of the beer, but deep, grainy malts create a sturdy base, hints of buttered toast and caramel leading the way to a dank and piney back end. Slight alcohol warmth in the fade, and the nose isn’t as hop-heavy as the taste, but otherwise a highly drinkable IPA.
3.4 12oz can (BOMC). Pours hazy orange with a sticky off white head and good lacing. Hoppy nose with some grapefruit. Flavors are also citrus rind and a dose of caramel sweetness, with malt showing up late but firm. Crisp finish. Good IPA.
2.8 Sample from can at the Omaha Beer Fest 2017. Pour was clear golden with a white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine. Taste was bitter, pine resin, fruit rind. Earlier Rating: 1/18/2016 Total Score: 2.6 Tap at Nebraska Brewing Company. Pours dark amber with white head. Aroma was pine, pine needles and grapefruit. Taste was pine with a hoppy bitter finish.
3.2 Pours light yellow with nice large head. Aroma: nice resiny and citrussy aroma with a lot of pine. Taste: a lot of pine, some citrus, dry finish.
3.8 Pours a golden color with white head. Floral citrus piney hop aroma. Light bodied, floral hop start blending to an earthy hop finish. Notes: on tap at the brewpub, June ’17
3.1 Can. Hazy golden, offwhite creamy head. Citric, herbal, tiny bit sweaty and mopey on a dry mineral base. Medium body, dry, a bit chalky, herbal bitterness, hay malt, herbal aftertaste.
3.4 Can. Rather clear golden color with white head. Aroma is pineapple, grapefruit, citrus fruits, earthy hops, piney, toasted malts, toffee. Taste is pineapple, toasted malts, herbal, leafy, with a touch of booze and a warming bitter finish. Soft oily mouthfeel. Not bad.
3.5 Can, Ann Arbor, MI. Pale gold, skunky resin aroma. Full body. Lots of hop bitterness and some honey. Finish isn’t too overpowering.
3.6 Excellent blend of fruity hops in both aroma and taste. Clear amber color with modest head. Rare wide mouth can.
3.4 4 ounce sample at the original location. Clear in color, lasting head. Mild citrus, weak pine, maybe a weak grass. Flavor is a reflection of the aroma, mild citrus, mild pie, with an herbal bitterness in the finish. Bitterness is light with a dry texture.
4.3 Can to shaker - pours a rich gold with a white foamy, yet sturdy head, cascading lace. Deep aroma, pine, pineapple, citra galore but also a buttery edge. A crisp pop on the tongue, pine resin, orange peel, caramel, breads, some lingering apple flavors towards the back, well balanced, delicious.

3.7 0,355 l can from Biervana Canned: 11/14/16 Golden color, almost clear, frothy white foam head. Aroma is Pine / Spruce and Citrus. light sweetness, very bitter, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish,
3.8 Can on close-out pours a clear amber with a one finger dirty sand head and fluffy lacing. Aroma is sweet citrus, pine, malt, and furniture polish. Flavor is a major potpourri, which I always appreciate, although the citra hop is obviously dominating here. It does have a nice, deep malt profile and the bitterness is relatively mild. Aftertaste has a slight odd tinge to it, but is mostly apricot. Very solid, best served ice cold.
2.7 Sampled on tap at P house with Joe, pours a gross amber color which lets me know this is gonna taste like sweet malt. I wasn’t expecting the overly bitter grain and ash on top of that creamy and gross malt profile. Lighter to medium body. Nothing "West Coast" about this offering.
3.6 12 ounce can from Woodman’s in Janesville, WI, served cold in a pint measuring glass (it’s actually a tiny fraction over 12 ounces as a matter of fact). Small to moderate off-white soupy head dies away to a tiny ring with some alacrity above the deep bronze lightly hazy body...nose bit on citrus (grapefruit, orange) and a bit of mango, faint resin, light spice (cinnamon) perhaps a bit of dark-bready yeastiness...body is moderately sweet upfront with bitterness appearing throughout and coming to dominate around the midpalate, with the finish bringing a bit of pepperiness and good solid sharpness...very full, juicy, with moderate/average carbonation. Not in any way striking but in every way solid and enjoyable.
