Neumarkter Lammsbräu Urstoff

Neumarkter Lammsbräu Urstoff

Neumarkters version of a Helles beer.

0.5 Not sure whether I got a bottle which was off, but this is not a beer. It's a watery sugary drink, which doesn't resemble any beer taste. I really thought I opened a radler by mistake. Will give it another chance as I don't think anyone intended it to be so bad. But still giving it half a star as this batch shouldn't have passed the quality control.
2.8 500 ml bottle. Clear dark golden, foamy head. Hay, straw, pale malts, grain. Malty sweetness, minimum dryness. Light bodied, watery texture, lively carbonated, light dry sweet finish. Decent, but needs more hops!
3.2 Nice clean and crisp beer. Not much flavour, but it hides nothing, everything is out in the open for this light beer, and there’s nothing off at all. Dresden supermarket bottle
2.4 Amber beer. Head disappears fast. Malty grainy beer with hints of grass and a strong cardboard taste. Not my beer.
3.4 L: -pours a clear amber with a small to medium, foamy, offwhite head -medium carbonation visible S: -cooked vegetables, grainy, caramel, leather, earthy, malty, faint fruits T: -caramel,malty,very spicy, slight roast,Forest honey F: -medium carbonation -light to medium body O: With it's rustic Aroma and amber colour this is more in line with a Franconian Dunkel (and a bit of Vienna Lager) and pretty far from a traditional Helles. I still liked it though.Solid, organic everyday Lager
2.8 Flasche 0,5l: Kräftiges Gold, glasklar, kräftiger stabiler mittelporiger Schaum; frische + leicht würzige Nase, dezente fruchtige Süße, Malz, Getreide, etwas Karamell, dezente Hopfennoten, Brotteig, leichte Hefearomen, Sauerteig, leichte fruchtig-malzige Bitterkeit; frischer Körper, leichte fruchtige Süße, Malz, Getreide, etwas Karamell, cremig, deutliche Kohlensäure, dezente Hopfenaromen, Brotteig, etwas dünn; angenehmer fruchtig-malziger Nachgang
3.2 Nutty and bready aroma. Medium sweet, buttery taste with almost no bitterness. Decent.
2.9 Clear deep golden color with off-white head. Aroma has vegetal notes like the ones you find in non alcoholic beers, bread crust and some plum preserve. Taste is mostly bready, slightly astringent, grainy, slightly hoppy with light bitterness on the finish. Medium to light body with medium carbonation. Not bad but the aroma is quite weird.
3.3 Fles 50cl thuis. Maltzoeten, wat kruidig, ergens hoptonen. (4-2017).------.
2.5 Alright for a helles. Well balanced and well put together. Pours light amber with ok head. Drank walking around Potsdam. Bottle.
3.5 Quite a dark gold with a touch of copper. Strong earthy farmyard aroma, with some hay and malt. It's a decent drink. Not crisp like some lagers but with a more unctuous taste, by which I mean a breadth of malty, oily flavours just lacking something in the way of tang. It has a crude sweetness to it, moderated by a reasonably assertive bitter that easn't particularly hoppy in flavour--no citric notes, as such. It has the classic bready Bavarian helles taste, to which I am partial, so it gets good numbers for that. Not top notch but very substantial and drinkable.
3.2 spruce, citrus, herbs, grass, floral, resin, light sweetness, medium sweetness, heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, medium bitterness, very bitter, lightly sour, medium sourness, heavily sour, light body, medium body, thin feel, lively, average carbonation,
2.8 Farbe gold bis bernstein, klar, wenig schaumstabil. Aroma von Heu, Karamell, Nuss. Aroma setzt sich im Geschmack fort. Süße und Bittere ausgewogen. Süffig. Etwas stärke Karbonisierung.
2.5 Bottled. The body is clear. The aroma has hops. The taste is very earthy and has a smooth finish.
2.9 Herbal taste. Golden with a touch of amber. Looks appealing. Slightly bitter aftertaste, not too strong though. Very smooth and pleasant to drink. One you could drink a few of.
3.9 A bit darker than I'd like it, more amber than gold - up to the point where it is not transparent in bad light. A bit too carbonated for my taste, to the point where the acidity prevents properly feeling the taste. Strong taste of hops added at the end of the boiling. I like hops more this way - adding it early only leaves the bitterness and wastes the flavor. You _can_ feel the bitterness, though, a short while after having swallowed. Just a tad sweet - just enough to make it perfect for me, and I don't like sweet beers at all. Sweetness goes towards caramel or maple syrup, not sugar. Rather fluid - not at all like one of those heavy, strong beers that feel like eating, not drinking. Maybe a tiny bit too fluid - but that's just perfect for the regular cooling agent during hot summer days. I think that's going to be my staple beer, from now on.
2.8 Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is grainy, malty, caramel, vegetables. Taste is caramel, grainy, maggi, herbal. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. The house character of this brewery is not for me apparently. With this one, it's mostly the aroma that turns me off.
2.9 From bottle. Transfer of an earlier rating without text recorded, rating only.
2.9 Bottle. Golden coloured like apple juice. Nice head. Aroma of grass, hay and grains. Taste is grainy, grassy, spicy and a little bit bitter. Medium to strong carbonation. Süffig. Ok.
3.3 500 ml bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty. Looks: Clear golden amber colour; Two and a half finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with quite fizzy carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant full Lager malt, with strong cookie dough, honey, floral, sugar, light spices, fair lemon and light grass. Taste: Mid to light sweet fair Lager malt, with light honey, light butter cookie, light floral, light molasses, spices, bread, light lemon, fair to light bitter hops and strong grass. Body: Close to light body. Quite slick palate. Mouth Feel: Fair maltyness in a slightly watery background. Lingering waves of cookies and honey to go with lights spices and fair sweetness. Grassy hoppy with light lemon to round. Light but interestingly good! Hoppiness: Floral, light spices, fair lemon and light grass in nose and taste; Bitterness is light but notable for a lasting, low astringent bitter sweet malty finish. After Taste: Slightly dry; Cookie doughty and light bitter to mouth. Comments: This organic take of Helles maybe a little watery and slightly lightweight on maltyness, but it has enticing cookie aroma and strong grassy hoppy taste. Not exactly top stuff but it’s neat and charming as a light refreshment. Drinkable!
2.0 10.03.17 Hamburg, 50 cl bottle, bb 15.07.17. A good yellow beer with a white foam layer, which is not really stable. A somewhat malty smell with a little yellow fruit. A too malty taste with some hop bitter.
3.1 Bottle. Clear golden body with white head. Aroma is malts bread caramel and hints of honey. Taste is nearly the same but with some biscuits. Aftertaste is malty.
3.1 Bottle. Clear dark golden colour with a medium white head, nose is grainy and grassy with some hints of hay, aromatic spices and herbs, taste is aromatic malty with a subtle sweetness, a moderately dry finish. Quite full flavour for the relatively low abv.
