2.8Ruby brown, small creamy tan head. Nose is roasty malt, caramel, dried fruit notes, vage metallic edge. Flavor is bready malt with roasty notes, coffee hints and caramel. Some bitterness in the semi-dry finish.
3.6Bottle 50cl. Very dark brown with a light beige head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, little chocolate and some liqourice. Promising.... Surprising rich taste for a beer of only 5,2% alc/vol. It is of course no stout but a very pleasant beer which leaves a positive impression. Good beer
3.1Bottle. Dark brown body, minimal head, bubbles. Aroma of milk chocolate. Sweet flavor, caramel and chocolate tones. Light bitter finish.
3.2At the Hannoversches Bierfest, bottled 50 cl, on June 6, 2014. BB 17.03.15.
Clear deep dark red color, tan head. Sweet, malty, butter scent. Sweet, malty taste. Roasted aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness.
2.60,5L bottle, BB 27.01.15. Pours dark brown with light tan head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is grains, roast, and malt. Taste is very sweet, roast, grains, and caramel. Overall: not awful, but not really my kind of brew.
3.5Bottle. Dark brown body, medium tan head. Aroma has used coffee grounds, some dark chocolate. Pleasantly smooth, even somewhat oily mouthfeel - no sharp carbonation that makes some thinner Schwartzbiers too fizzy. Nutty and roasty taste with some more wet coffee grounds. Good.
3.0500ml bottle. Dark copper color. Medium size, thick beige head, stays. Malts, dusty, caramel, touch of shit in aroma. Metallic, iron, chocolate, grainy taste. Herbal hay in aftertaste. Mild bitterness. Light body.
3.1Apricot-cream coloured head, some lacings, dark brown body, visible carbonation.
Scents of fermented prunes, rye bread, yeast, caramel malts, a bunch of grass.
Taste rye bread, kvass, sour fruits, coffee notes, strong syrup, chocolate.
Feels just slightly dry, well carbonated.
Finishes more to the coffee-chocolate side, lingering a bit.
Overall easy and tasty, after dinners, 0.5L brown bottle 5.2%abv b@Alko Mooonyoo Finland, enjoyed@home Norway 17/3-2014.
2.8Hm... I have just returned home from a visit to a swimming pool in Germany. No Badebier there, so I thought I might want to open my own bottle. Pours clear dark copper brown with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, with touches of caramel, yeast and metal. Faint flavour of malt and fruit, with subtle caramellish touches and sparse hoppy notes. Sweetish and mildly bitter finish. OK but nothing really exciting. Would rather drink it than bathe in it, though.
3.0Bottle. Clear dark amber color with a thick frothy off-white head. Aroma of coffee, syrup, rye and dark bread. Flavors are rye, coffee and dark malt. Medium sweet finish.

2.9Bottle. Brownish black with a tan head. Aroma is sweet roast coffee. Flavour is roast, dark fruit, cream on a dry roast finish.
2.2Mild röstiger Antrunk, wenig herb. Die aufkommende Süße passt weniger, schnell wird das Bier milder, monoton. Trinkbar. 10/8/7/6/5/6
3.4Bottle@viiniruoka&hyvaelama’13, neuzelle flight. Dark brown, clear. Nice dark maltyness, some roasted tones. Good body, overall a pretty nice, enjoyable dark lager.
2.5Sample at DØE 2013. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma and flavour of roasted malt, caramel, coffee and hops.
2.9Pours out of the bottle in a clear golden colour with creamy steady head and smooth body. Nose of hops and soap. Taste of mild hops, light barley, grains, flowers, hay and piment. Light hints of soap, but actually quite nice and tasty. Nothing spectacular, but just nice drinkable.
2.9Bottle. Pours a reddish brown almost black color with a small tan head. Has a slightly roasted malty bready caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel bready flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel finish.
2.6Dark brown coloured beer with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt and caramel. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee and some faint hops. Light to medium palate. Watery finish.
3.2Bottle at home. Dark brown, almost black color, smooth white head. Roasty, smoky, bread, corn. Quite light body, roasted, some smoke, corn.
3.1Bottle 50 cl. Black with a medium lightbrown head. Roasted malty aroma with chocolate and dark fruits sence. Sweet taste with a shorth choco ending, medium body.
3.3Soft malty smokey nose with some coffee notes. Large pale beige head. Clear dark black reddish color. Soft malty and slightly smokey taste with some coffee notes. Some syrup too. Mild hoppiness.
3.450cl bottle thanks to onkelgobber. Pours a chestnut or dark honey colour with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has smokey/earthy/malty notes. The taste is smokey like charcoal, running into a burnt sugar note on the end. The palate is medium bodied and textured with a good length. Overall, a good beer that grows on me.
3.7Appearance, sound and foam promise a lot and it does wont let you down. Rich, fresh, acid - slightly citrus, although a bit light. Balanced taste. Perfect friend to summer sauna and smoked sausage.
3.7Forget the Schwarzbier style. Badebier = Bath Beer. Well, I guess this is supposed to be a beer in which you can bathe. There’s no explanation on the label, but I do like the idea of bathing in it. It says it’s “the original”, which pretty much sets the standard, so I have nothing to compare with. If it is medicinal, I do not get much of an elixir or tonic in it. No salts, iodines, sulphurs or minerals. And thanks God there’s no flavours of fish liver oil. It is neither a floral bath. So what do we get? Sweet malts, a bit of roast, honeys, Port, freashly baked bread, muesli, pumpernickel, and a suggestion of plums that have seen a banana at least once in their lives. Chocolate, smoke. Woody, grassy, hayish, but let me be clear: it’s dry wood and dry hay. This is still lacking more fruitiness, which would give it the right flare, the freshness that that could make it a great drinking beer. As for a bathing beer, we must use the wizards’ (Gandalf’s) rationale: this is exactly how it should be. Must be exhilarating.
2.950 cl, bottled. Pours black with a tanned head. Aroma: Grainy malt, syrup. cream. Taste: Sweetish, some roasted bitterness. Syrupy. Palate: Medium body, average carbonation. A bit weird. Decent.
3.3Bottle. Dark, reddish-brown color, lasting tan head. Roasted malt aroma with some nuts. Taste follows the aroma with some chocolate and a fairly dry finish. Medium-full body, medium-high carbonation. Good pairing for bratwurst and bacon.
3.2Bottle 50 cl. Pours cola black in color with a creamy tan head. Roasted malts, sweet dark syrup, fudge in aroma and a very pleasant aroma it is. Roasted malts, light tones of coffee in taste and some toffee. A bit thin, but otherwise quite tasty brew.
