New Belgium Fat Tire Belgian White

New Belgium Fat Tire Belgian White

25 years ago we started brewing Fat Tire Belgian Style Ale. It became an iconic beer, and a symbol synonymous with craft. Now, for the first time, we’re adding a new beer to the Fat Tire family: Fat Tire Belgian White. Taking inspiration from our decades of experience brewing Belgian beers, Fat Tire Belgian White is made with Seville oranges and Indian coriander, both freshly ground less than a mile from our Fort Collins brewery. It’s a fresh, perfectly sweet, natural tasting Belgian White.

3.4 Bottle from Total Wine in San Jose. Hazy amber yellow color with small wispy foam. Initial aroma is skunky. Probably from old hops, maybe from light struck, but it fades fast. Slightly dry. Very low if any Belgian yeast aroma. Light malt sweetness. Easy to drink. I don’t like regular Fat Tire, and I think this beer could be better.
3.4 Hazy yellow pour with a huge white head. Coriander and banana aroma. Flavor same as the aroma with a good amount of yeastiness and spice. Solid!
3.6 Draft at the new New Belgium location at the Denver Airport - not the Hub, but more centrally located on the B concourse. Pours a hazy pale gold with a finger of white head that settles into a thick uneven ring and film. Notes of wheat and dough, light pepper, straw, citrus, coriander, and some dried herbs. Light-medium bodied, with medium-plus carbonation and a wheaty, doughy, citrusy, slightly spicy mouthfeel. Better than expected. Blue Moon killer.
3.3 Can aboard American Airlines. Yellow-gold with a tight foam and bready, lightly milky with and lemony aromas. Dry-sweet and thickish textured, lightly spiced, sweet and citrusy but more in mind of Weizen than Wit.
3.6 On n’a des notes de blé avec goût de coriandre et d agrumes comme orange bonne bière blanche
3.2 Bottle at Aggie Theatre, Fort Collins. Cloudy golden, white head. Yeasty, some citrus, wheat, bit spicy, sweetish. Light bodied.
3.7 Lemon-gold with a thin head and a spicy, fruity nose. Well-carbonated with a medium mouthfeel and a bubblegum, banana, mild citrus finish.
4.2 Jasno złote pod światło nawet żółtawe, nieprzejrzyste, delikatnie zmętnione. Średnio pracuje. Piana biała, trwała, obfita, zbita, średnio i drobnopęcherzykowa.
3.0 Watery taste, with the typical wheat malt flavour only vaguely present. Some citrus reminding of the Belgian style white. Too sweet and nowhere near a good belgian white.
3.2 From a can. Poured clear amber color with a 1-finger off-white head. Aroma was fruity, with a touch of earthiness. Body is medium-to-full, with a dry finish. Flavor of nutty malt with a touch of earthiness. This gives way to fruity notes at the back.
3.5 Aroma of wheat coriander lemon and orange citrus Pours a very cloudy golden yellow with lasting thick frothy white head. Wheat and coriander in flavor with citrus in the finish. Light to medium bodied, high CO2, wheat citrus finish. Easy to drink tasty brew. I wish citrus was a tad more predominant in flavor though
3.2 Light haze to a yellow pour. Aroma is year citrus. Taste follows.
3.5 Bottle at trailer tasting. Hazy golden pour with white foam. Peppery, phenolic, fruity coriander, citrus, wheat bread aromas. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice coriander citrus orange, lightly toasted wheat flavor--- tangy finish___ good
2.7 Can. Hazy pale orange with a dense and stable white head. Aroma dominated by spices and orange, some wheat behind. 6+ Far too sweet and a mite chalky with no tanginess from the wheat and a finish that's not dry enough for the spices to shine.
3.6 A very stable go to. Super food friendly and and refreshing. Love it in a can when it’s fresh.
3.1 Pours a two finger white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Ugly hazy straw color. Good carbonation and light bodied. Belgian yeast and citrus nose and flavor is almost tart orange, with yeast in background. Best by Apr 2019 12 oz bottle part of $9.99 6-pak from Shaws Supermarket Concord, NH.
3.4 This is a mildly Froot Loopy wheat beer. I like the crisp carbonation combined with the touch of sweetness and sightly think mouth feel. I think the goal here was to make something crushable and they did that so good for them.
Trotzdem ohne jeglichen Charakter.
3.8 Cloudy yellow. White head. Better than the original and better than Shock Top. Very enjoyable.
3.1 On tap at Pedal House, Tempe. Hazy golden/yellow with a small white head. Soft and easy to drink with wheat, some yeast, citrus and mild grain.
3.9 12 oz Dose im Flieger von AA. Trübes hellgelbes Bier, schöner Schaum. Banane, Orange, Hefeduft. Antrunk Orangenzeste und Orangenblüte. Dann Hefe und Getreide. Lecker.
2.9 330 ml bottle poured at home. Pours pale and hazy yellow with a ring of white head. Smells like yeast and wheat. Tastes like yeast and lemon. Not a fan at all.
3.1 Keg at Beaverex '18 Day II, 08/09/18. Lightly hazed pale golden yellow with a decent off white head. Nose is lemon drizzle, wheaten bread, crackers, grains. Taste comprises grass, citric zest, light herb, floral notes, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Passable for the style.
4.0 ENJOY BY: 03FEB19. Appearance: Pours a soft, lightly hazed, yellow body with a small, thinning, white head. Smell: Juicy, sweet-smelling orange component with goodly fragrant coriander and paradise grains. Light, extant, pliable wheat to tie things together. Taste: Sweetish, citrusy, lightly tangy and juicy with the orange element landing quite quickly. Soft yet airy wheat, oat cushion underneathe. You get a nice, fresh pop of the floral, citrusy, zesty accents from the grains of paradise and coriander. Dries out gently for the crispish finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Overall: Likely crafted to peel off some of the Blue Moon crowd, and, while I have no idea if it's succeeding in that endeavor, I gotta say, it's pretty darn good. A solid rendition of a style you, for better or worse, don't really see breweries churning out these days, having moved onto styles and gimmicks they deem more sexier, more profitable.
3.0 Tastes like a blue moon to me, and i don't consider that a good thing. Rather flat. Coriendar notes. Light lemon pepper finish.
4.3 Love this beer. Love regular Fat Tire above all others.
2.9 12 ounce bottles from Winter variety pack, bb 24 Feb 2019. Foggy straw-colored body with a half-inch disc of foam. Mild aroma of wheat, coriander, dried grass and a bit of citrus. Tastes the same with more citrus zest presence. Light-medium bodied with too much explosive fizz. Decent balance but I get none of the unique flavor of Wit yeast at all; tastes more like a drab American Wheat Ale jazzed up (a bit) with coriander and citrus zest.
3.3 I was wonder if the fat tire name on this Belgian white was for a reason. The malts are similar to the fat tire beer.
2.9 12oz can on an American Airlines flight from London Heathrow to Dallas-Forth Worth. Pours fully hazy pale gold with with medium-high white foam, very fine. Aroma is weak, grainy and spiced. Somewhat also white-pulp fruits. Body is average, maybe a little on the light side, with average carbonation. Taste is only moderately sweet, with sensible bitterness for a wit. Finish is fairly short.
3.2 8Sep2018 Wheat, esters, cardamon, sweet grain and cereal malts. Hazy gold, medium, creamy, white head. Light bitter. More sweet grain and cereal, caramel, molasses, sweet grain and cereal malts, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Alright. Keg at BeaverEx18 - Saturday session, Canada Water.
