2.9 from Drinks of the World - quite clear bronze beer with a poor head retention; aroma of tea and watermelon; subtle but solid carbonation; the juiciness is stopped by some tart astringency; dry corny finish of tea, elderflowers and watermelon
3.6 Aroma: watermelon, cucumber. Taste: slightly sweet watermelon flavor all over the sip with some malty bitterness in the the middle. Good as a fruit beer
4.0 Leve amargor. Você só consegue perceber a melancia e o limão no final. É uma cerveja de média para forte.
4.0 very refreshing in the heat.. quite quenching actully. not overly fruity. pleasent beer
1.9 Well.... Tastes like melon. And that is about all. Some ale like tones along but weak. Well won’t do it again.
2.7 Pours a sharp clean straw gold with one finger of white head. Watermelon rind in the nose with some wet hay, grassy notes, weak citrus, and bready malt. Crisp in the mouth with some weird watermelon rind notes and maybe lime? Pretty meh to drink and, thankfully, unoffensive.
1.4 While this beer has a decent drink-ability, there’s a barely perceptible lime flavor and zero watermelon flavor. When I buy a watermelon flavored beer, I actually want to taste watermelon. Fail.
2.9 Can. Clear light orange. Faint light pale malts. Some of the white and green watermelon flavors. At least it doesn’t taste like watermelon candy
2.4 Pours a clear dark amber with a foamy white head. Aroma is wet grain and doughy malt. Flavor is watery grain and bready malt. Light bodied and watery with very little carbonation. Just not much going on here.
1.8 12 oz bottle: Clear, slightly copper amber with a few short lived white suds. Aroma is grainy with a slight hint of fruit, caramel. Flavor: No, no no no. Bready like a lager with citrus rind bite, and not in good way. No. Just, no. Thin mouthfeel. No. Glad I only bought a single.
2.1 Can from 12 pack. Pours a light golden pee color with trails of white. Pale corn, malt, straw, melon and grass smell. Flavor is watery, harsh spices and rindy melon. Slightly grainy. Flat.
2.2 A grainy aroma somewhat lager like, pours a clear amber color not much of a head. A nondescript taste of grain with a hint of fruit. A grainy finish.
2.8 From a bottle. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Flavors of watermelon and biscuit. Not that great.
2.2 (12oz bottle) AROMA: mostly yeast, musty, some green/veggie. hint of melon/fruit peel/skin. APPEARANCE: light golden yellow, small bubble foam, leaves a layer of white film/foam, considerable visible carbonation. TASTE: malt/grain, Some fruity sweetness, moderate hop followthru (ther is a touch of European Pilsner taste). PALATE: light body, a bit watery, thin & flat, some creaminess, has body at times bit wimpy/watery at times too. OVERALL: a bit off-balanced. Some ok lager/Pilsner grain characteristics. But something off with the scope of flavors and feel. Comes off as a beer that had some fruit soda and ice added to it. I think many people are rating this higher just because it is a New Belgium brew (because this is a sub-par beer ... drinkable yet a tad wimpy).
2.3 A grainy aroma somewhat lager like, pours a clear amber color not much of a head. A nondescript taste of grain with a hint of fruit. A grainy finish.
3.0 330ml bottle served in a pint glass. Pours a cloudy yellow color forming a medium white head with low retention and only very few lacings formed and left in the glass. Sweet and fruity nose. Notes of sweet pale malts and watermelon. Hints of lime. Slightly sweet upfront taste. Again, notes of sweet pale malts and watermelon. Citrus hints. Light body. Medium carbonation. Medium drinkability.
3.0 Decent session beer. Light golden color. Aroma of melon & lime as labeled. Taste is light bodied and fruit flavors really come through.
3.0 Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a fluffy white head that dissipates slowly to a thin frothy film with a bit of lacing. Aromas of bitter citrus and fruity esters. Flavors are cut grass, lime, a hint of watermelon and a bready finish. Thin, watery mouthfeel. Rather ordinary overall, but not terrible.
3.2 Pours a deep clear golden color with a white head. Aroma is biscuity, hay with a hint of fruit.light sweetness, getting some watermelon but not too much which I think is good. You get the hint of lime on the finish. Light mouthfeel very refreshing in so cal summer. Surprisingly not bad.
3.1 Can @ home, chugged straight from the can. Tastes like melon rind, straw, light juice, and a bit of tapioca. Surprisingly, not overly fruity or sweet. I’m not a huge fan but at least it’s not a watermelon-a-rita clone.
3.0 Light lime and watermelon aroma with a lagerish like funk aroma. Taste is almost like a lager foot funk base with watermelon and lime. Flavors are authentic and it is better than I expected. Nothing great but a refreshing summer beer. Odd but works in a way. Drinkable, but wouldn't buy on its own (got in folly pack)
2.4 I expected to taste more watermelon in this beer but it was just bland and odd tasting. The carbonation was horrible and there was essentially no head. I gave it a 2 because it was still drinkable.
2.0 Earlier Rating: 8/5/2016 Total Score: 4
2.3 A run of the mill blonde ale without much that stands out acts as a neutral base for this fruit beer. Mild hint of watermelon in the aroma and a nip of citrus. The watermelon surfaces again in the finish. It’s crisp and refreshing with a lightly tart lime finish. S’alright.
1.5 Very bland taste. I don't taste watermelon or lime at all. Doesn't smell very good either.
3.0 Draft from Giant Eagle in Grandview: gold pour, white head. aroma of wheat, faint watermelon. tastes are lime, watermelon, wheat, citrus, straw.
3.7 This sessional brew is pretty good. The taste of lime isn't overwhelming while the watermelon is the aftertaste. The bitterness in the back of the tongue leads to a satisfying freshness, especially a when super chilled.
2.5 Pours clear light golden with a thin line of white head. Aroma; Tart, melon, floral and malt. Taste; Thin and watery, melon, malt, floral and zest.
2.3 Pours a clear orange with little head......aroma of slightly sour smelling watermelon, malt......taste is paper, slight hint of watermelon, slight earth, slight bitterness.
3.3 Bottle from Publix. Pours a clear orange with a white head. Nose is some melon juice, some malt, and a hint of watermelon rind. Flavor is similar with watermelon juice, a hint of lime, a bit of summer, and some rind with a yeast that dries out the finish. Sweet overall, and they dialed back the lime significantly in this one from last year’s.
