New Belgium Lips of Faith - Peach Porch Lounger

New Belgium Lips of Faith - Peach Porch Lounger

Peach Porch Lounger is the lovechild Saison of musician G. Love and New Belgium. The glowing orange beer is a groovy mix of peaches, hominy grits, molasses and lemon peel with pale and biscuit malts. Brettanomyces yeast brings a bold, sweet nose and the beer ends with a dry finish

3.4 On tap at the River Room, Whole Foods, Boise. Hazy golden orange. Full off white head. Faint light floral and peach aroma with some farmhouse notes. Mild slight sweet malt with some decent peach flavor. The touch of Brett give it a nice twist. Different but still drinkable. Shocked at the listed 9.4%
3.5 Golden pour, off white head. Yeasty with a slight fruity aroma. Smooth balanced flavor with a slight dry finish. Not a hint of alcohol. Very nice, very tasty.
3.7 Another interesting range of flavors in a brew from the LOP series. Smells of corn, sugar, and peaches. Flavors are a bit peachy up front, juice style, with a mix of grain, brown sugar, and faint lemon zest. Hints of a soured brett at the end, faint lingering. Decent brew, wish it was all a bit louder though.
3.8 Rather liked this one. Pours a bright orange with a very large white head. Musty aroma, with peaches and wet hay. Flavor is interesting, with the brett and peach meshing to keep it from the sweet territory.
3.0 Okay, been staring and decided to try this finally. Pours a good looking golden ale with a sheet of fine whites. Smells of textbook belgian yeast, bits of lemon, some sour milk, grain and sweet hawaiian bread. Tastes like a subtle saison, with plenty of peach juice flavor (unsweetened), some metal and clay like yeast character. There is a good dose of lemon must and some slight tartness. Medium bodied with moderate, loose carb. Meh, it’s an okay beer. Serving type: bottle 10-18-2012
3.5 Decent peach beer. I was a little hesitant on a peach beer, and this one is a little sweet. Good beer for a beer or two, certainly not an all day bender beer.
4.0 I had this at Global Brew. Pours orangish with a white head. Taste sweet, peach, fruity, Brett. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.
3.5 Draft at Cigar City Brewery. Shimmery golden orange peach color. Funky peach aroma and flavor. White wine like finish. Peach flavor dominates, Brett adds a nice depth, tart and funkiness. Decent
3.3 Banana and yeast, fresh baked bread on the nose. Beautiful hazy golden color. Tastes predominately of banana, with peach in the background only. Finishes with a little bit of tart lemon.
3.4 A: Orangish Hue, Passes Most Light, Mild White Head, Minimal Lacing S: Yeast, Mild Peach T: Peach Juice, Mild Yeast M: Mediocre Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Mildly Bitter Overall, A very mild saison with a peach juice taste.
3.7 bottle - Pours hazy copper and very bubbly with a lingering off-white head. It has a sweet flavor with peach, Belgian yeast spice, and not a lot of brett character. The aroma is quite mild. I just got some Belgian yeast and a hint of fruit. It’s medium bodied and refreshing. Very good. Don’t be scared off by the brett if you don’t like really funky beers. It’s light on it.
2.9 Tap at Dexters. I’m not so sure about the aroma, kind of dry aspirin, mineral, vitamin peach. Not so good. There are some forced peach tones, but this is pretty artificial and uninspired and hurts the whole LoF logo once more. Not a Saison. Some ugly brutal alcohol malt tones. Disappointing. The brett is stale, not really present. Brutal.
3.8 Bomber. Apricot colored and hazy with a short white head. With even a vigorous pore, the fizzy head disappears within seconds. Aroma is over-ripe fruit, funky yeast notes, soft earthiness, wet dog and light spice. OK, that does not sound very appetizing. But the taste is much better. The funky yeast is still there, as is the earthy notes and the peppery spice. But a healthy tartness is also there from the beginning mitigating the sweetness. The other notes add complexity, but the finish is rather clean. Have been cellaring this beer almost a year, and the result is very smooth. Body is medium heavy with a light, prickly carbonation. Ends with more peaches, tart fruits, earthy notes, funky yeast and light spice. A very fine beer.
3.3 Bottle to stange glass Aroma of peach, cookie, orange, Brett, soy, and bubble gum; very sweet smelling. The colour is a vibrant yellowish amber and there's a lot of effervescence, qhich allows the thin white bubbly head to last. The taste is not as expected, sweet to start, but changing to a yeasty wheat taste, nowhere near the level of sourness expected. There's a little peach but that quickly fades to a tofu and nut taste plus a medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and airy, a little slick with a nice lively carbonation. It's okay, but the soy/tofu are a but off putting; the appearance and palate saved this from being a bad rating, but that's not really where is want to earn points if I were making a beer.
3.8 Tap at Moon River, Savannah. It pours golden orange with a medium white head. The nose is earth, wood, ripe banana, sweet peach, light mustiness, brett, earth and hay. The taste is earthy, brett, tart peach, orange peel, wood, hay, light spice, damp leaf and decent bitterness with a dry, fruity finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Hides abv very well indeed. Smooth, fruity and good brett character. Managed to get through quite a lot of this....
3.7 Tap at Happy Gnome. Yellow golden pour with a white spotty head. Peach, yeast, and mild Brett. Hits a sweet spot for me, I’m totally digging this.
3.1 TAP. Pour is a nice orange color with great lacing. Aroma isn’t really bold but shows straw and clove with a hint of peach. Taste is a tad sour (not what I was expecting for a peach flavored beer).
2.8 The Lips of Faith is an interesting collection that I enjoy tasting, but this wasn’t one of my favorites. Style seems to be a bit more of a double IPA (to my unrefined taste) with a bit of Peach flavor. The peach wasn’t blended very well. Overall, I was excited to taste but wasn’t pleased .
3.7 Hazy gold, fair creamy white head / Delicate nose of honey, citrus, and brett / Medium body, fat with low carbonation, some sweetness with mild hopping, and only a hint of bitterness on the finish / Flavors of pineapple, peach, lemon, straw, clove, and horse blanket / Borderline cloying - needs more hopping
3.6 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a short white head. Aroma of peaches, yeast, funk and some brett tartness. Flavor of sweet peaches, mild fruit, funky yeast, brett and had a dry finish.
3.3 Interesting citrusy peach ale that really has a lower-end type of brettiness.
3.7 On tap at Rustico Alexandria. Light peach and faint acidity. Fairly dry with just a bit of residual sweetness. Background lemon and very faint pepper.
3.7 Bottle pour share thanks to Paul, has a nice amber pour. Has some nice barnyard funk with some light fruit. Taste is peach and some nice tartness.
3.2 Not a bad brew. It's a little strange but the sweet dryness is enjoyable. Pours an amber with a fleeting head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Almost a ketchup smell? Taste is really sweet with not much peach character. It has some of the funky elements of a saison and the finish is nice. Overall not bad but not great.
3.6 On tap at The Mayor of Old Town. Tart and fruity aroma. Light to medium body. Tropical fruit with a light sour bite. Pretty tasty!
3.7 Hazy light amber color with ivory sheen. Sour dough, bretty dry barnyard, straw, light fruit aromas. Smooth medium body. Nice lightly sweet peach, citrus flavors with sourdough, barnyard piss, dry hay, and a light alcohol taste to finish--good.
3.3 Draft @ Toronado, San Francisco, CA. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity spicy yeasty peaches aroma. Fruity malty spicy yeasty weak bretty flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty bretty peachy finish.
1.0 Wha dafuq is dis sheet? Pours a clear but thick and syrupy deep gold color with a minimal head. Strong aromas of canned peaches, corn, malt liquor. Why don’t they just go ahead and label this as "Fucking Garbage Juice" because that’s what it is. Jesus. It’s a good thing I traded malt liquor for this, because that’s all this beer is worth. I cAnt believe I’m going to force myself to finish this just for the buzz. Might as well drink some canned peach syrup with a shot of vodka in it, because it would taste the same. Garbage.
3.1 High hopes for this and was disappointed. Sour funk that didn't mesh with the artificial peach flavor.
3.6 32oz growler pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. Aromas of peach, citrus. Medium bodied, refreshing, with a slight sour finish. Good.
