Yuzu is a strange fruit- citrusy and bold. Those three words: strange, citrus and bold are the perfect beginnings for a great beer. So, our brewers paired yuzu with the sourness of a Berlinerweiss to create this beerlicious Yuzu Berlinerweiss. Brewed with pale malt and wheat this Berlinerwiess was acidified with Lactobacillus for a light, dry mouthfeel and tart refreshment. Hazy and straw-colored, the yuzu fruit brings a tropical charm to a traditional beer.

3.5Really thick and light, little citrus. Like cream of wheat. Not to sharp, blunt in the flavor.
3.5Mondial de la bière 2015 - Dorée, un col de mousse mince blanc. Nez sûrette et fruité. Goût fruité et l’acidité est pratiquement inexistante... Je suis plutôt déçu de ce côté! C’est bon quand même!
3.3A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light cherry, lemon, citrus pulp, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light lemony notes, light mineral notes, pleasant summer beer. Bottle at Mondial 2015.
3.3Bottle share at Evernote. Overall notes of sweet juice, guava, hay and some tartness on the finish.
3.6Slutfest! Pale straw yellow, very slight haze. Odd citrus fruit aroma, presumably Yuzu, very bold. Flavor is lightly of crackery malts. Fruity tropical flavor present throughout. Lingering tart citric flavor long after the finish. Faint wheat as well. Interesting.
3.3Draft - Sweet citrus and some tropical fruit. Hazy gold with a decent white head. Sweet and light tropical fruits, light citrus and a light candy funk finish. Not much sourness and the Yuzu is a bit muted.
2.5Draft. It was the cheapest pour out of 20 lines, so I imagine they go the keg on the cheap due to the age or that it wasn’t very popular to begin with. Either way, I had not had it so I bit. Sourish yogurt, lemon, old fruitiness, lightly tart. Odd full mouth and not a light refreshing highly carbed brew I was hoping. Also, don’t know how you can have an 8% berliner. Fail.
3.8Nice citrus nose. Golden color from what I remember because it’s been a while. Good creamy mouthfeel with strong carbonation. Berliner Weiss is hinted here but with much more complexity. Some hops presence and a funky dry finish. Pleasantly surprised.
2.8Draught @ The Rover. Pours deep reddish brown with a small creamy beige head that leaves some sticky thick lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity and malty with caramel, dark bread, lemon juice, pineapple, hay, leather, sour milk and lemon zest. Taste is sweet, bitter, very tiny sour, tiny fruity and spicy with caramel, dark bread, caramel, toffee, hay, moist soil, boiled vegetables, leather, grapefruit zest, orange zest, lemon zest and hints of yoghurt and barnyard. Mouthfeel is round, citrus zest peppery and medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, tiny bitter and tiny sour with caramel, toffee, moist soil, hay, grapefruit zest, orange zest and lemon zest. Not sure what I’m drinking. Very strange presentation. Not a fan... Also find it strange the colour of this is dark reddish brown and everyone else writes golden or yellow. Double checked though and the keg is labeled as Lips of Faith Yuzu.
2.8The aroma is malty with funky urinal cake yeast and a hint of citrus. The appearance is hazy gold with a small thin head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is right but a but thin. Overall worth a try.
3.5Draught, Brewdog GBG.
Hazy pale golden.
Citrus and citrus, green apples, fruit, some grass. Sourness/tartness level is quite nice. Refreshing.
3.1Tap from Hop City. Pours the color of apple juice with white head. Aromas of citrus, lemon, and honey,. Flavors of light hay, lemon grass, slight honey. and lots of citrus. Medium sweet with a light dry finish. It’s okay. Not my favorite.
3.3Draft @ The Rover, Göteborg. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity strong yuzu aroma. Fruity tart citric yuzu flavor. Has a fruity tart citric yuzu finish.
3.2Pours a light cloudy yellow with a fizzy head. Aromas light fruity citrus like lemon/slight orange, light honey, light hay and slight bubble gum. Flavors of light hay, lemon grass, slight honey. 3.8On tap at Porter Beer Bar. Pours a hazed gold with a medium to large white head. Bright lemony citrus on the nose with a touch of musky funk. Medium bodied, musky and tart right away, a bit of musk and funk. Soft musk into the finish with some light tang and funk. Tasty.
3.4@ SBWF 2014: frisk doft och smak av citron och lime. Fin balans men ganska enkel.
3.1Sample at SBWF 2014. Golden with a medium white head. Citrus, hay, funk and some berries. Drinkable but a bit too "strong".
3.7SWBF 2014. Pours pale yellow with almost no head. Aromas of kiwi, citrus, orange, funk, gooseberry. Taste is kiwi, citrus, funk, orange, gooseberry and some salt. Mouthfeel is lively and somewhat tart.
3.4Bottle. Pours out a lightly cloudy orangy color with a small white head. Aroma is of sweet/lightly tart fruit that I assume is yuzu, light bitterness and some spice. Taste is this same citrusy/sweet fruity note that I’ve determined is yuzu, some light pineapple like notes, tart fruit. Alcohol well hidden, but this needed something.
3.2Pours clear golden low white head
Aromas of sour apples, citrus, herbs, spices
Taste has strange spcy and herbally tones, sour fruits. Unbalanced
3.7A very unique beer. Pour is straw colored with a nice white head. Aroma is sour, peppery, yeasty and a touch of malt. Tons of citrus, buttery malts and yeasty sourness that makes you keep wanting more.
2.0No thank you on imperial berliner weisse after this one. Way over the top citrus with a bit of a powdered lemonade sweetness and pretty detectable alcohol taste. Like an alcopop.
1.3Big bottle at Haket, Göteborg, on Saturday September 6, 2014. Storflaskelördag.
Hazy honey color, small white head. Sour cheese scent, brett. Brett, citrus, lemonade taste. Perfume, citrus aftertaste. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, very low bitterness. Warming alcohol.
3.5Hazed golden in color with a slight ring of white head. A light malty aroma with a bit of a wild edge. Light mouthfeel with mustiness and a slightly tart fruit character. A Good summer beer.
3.1Taster at flip daddy’s. Nose is musky. Sip is odd: citrus, peel, and grass. Strongest Berliner weisse I’ve ever had.
3.1Rated based on notes taken on 16 Aug 2014 -- A very very light beer. A weak Berliner base, but the Yuzu makes this an interesting beer to drink.
3.4Smells and tastes like hay and sour citrusy fruit. Refreshing even at 8%, though I think it would have been cooler at a more traditional abv, like 4 or so. Dry and lightly funky and sweet. Cool one timer
3.3On tap at capital ale house Harrisonburg. Moderate tartness. Nice drinkability.
3.6Pours an extremely hazy golden yellow with very little white head. Aroma of bitter lemon, wheat, and some barnyard funk. Initial sweet and sour lemon taste that's quickly followed by wheat notes. All flavors quickly dissipate leaving a dry feeling on the palate. Not as sour as expected and not much complexity. An easy drinker.
3.0Bottle. Poured hazy light yellow color with an small to average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate wheat and citrus aroma. Medium body with a thin texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Interesting beer and soft for style.
