A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant’s finish is bone-dry.

3.8Bottled. A golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma has notes of hops, spices, citrus fruits, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, carmel, hops, flowers, alcohol, citrus fruits, and spices, leading to a bitter finish.
3.2Not "pure copper" like brewer states, more like an almost clear yellow with fine head and lacing.
Hard to describe complex flavor includes candy, citrus, toffee, spice among others. Not "bone dry" yet a fairly dry finish. This beer deserves another go around.

12oz can from Publix, Boca Raton, FL
3.6Pours an orange-amber with foamy white head. Smells of peach and citrus, biscuits. Taste is bitter and sweet - citrus, bread/biscuit with a bit of peach pit at the end.
4.0North End American Grill, North Wildwood, NJ in Bottle. I came back to the North End to have Cape May Brewery Coastal Evacuation Imperial IPA. Unfortunately, they were having a problem with the tap so I selected Rampant in a bottle. It has become one of my favorite beers -- up there with Guinness (which has some sentimental value to me). It does have a enjoyable sweetness in it -- but -- it does have a bitter bite, much more so than Cape May Coastal Evacuation.
3.68.5%ABV. Imperial IPA.
Poured out gold. 8ºSRM.
Nose is sweet malt, pine.
Mouthfeel is soapy. Palate has ton of sweet malt and malted sugar with an almost corn syrup sweet. Hops are bright, citrus peel, grapefruit peel burst like when you bite into a yellow grapefruit, then light pine, deep spruce needles with that aromatic oily dimension to it. Some spiciness with deep cilantro maybe some wild scallion.
Finish is medium-long with resin predominating.
Overall a valiant effort but not a very even tasting ride for me. Maybe because the malt profile was a little one dimensional without much depth although sweet.
3.9On tap at St. Augustine’s during New Belgium 25th anniversary celebration. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Aroma is skunky, herbal, floral. Hoppy taste has pretty the character. Very pleasant, but not enough of residual sweetness as for me.
4.0Smells piney and hoppy. Tastes the exact same. This pours a clear gold color, has great lacing and some small head retention. This is an excellent beer.
3.4Decent sized bright white head of fine bubbles. Nice citrusy and sappy hops aroma with some tangerine, lemon rind, fresh grass and rice cakes. Color is a medium gold. Lots more piney hops in the flavor with some salty caramel, mint, grapefruit pith and dry grains. Rather zippy on the tongue and imparts a nice tingle from latent carbonation. Moderate alcohol presence. Finishes minty and bitter with some lingering sweet malts and cough syrup. A decent IIPA.
5.0One of my go to beers. Never disappoints. Good flavor and refreshing. Highly recommend!

3.9Clear gold Amber thin Lacy white head; aroma is tobacco cigar notes; flava mild bitter malt woody notes of tobacco; feels medium lively fizzy; finishers dry bitter
2.8Clear deep golden with small white head. Aroma is nice citrus hops, medium body, lower carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is herbal hops and bitter hops.
3.6Bottle pour. Appearance is clear golden yellow with decent sparkle, finger-width white head with poor retention, no lacing. Aroma is floral with citrus and fruit with some background malts. Taste is as aroma. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, creamy texture, average carbonation and floral bitter finish. Overall, not a groundbreaking imperial IPA but decent.
3.212oz 6pack from Xroads. Poured a great looking viscous gold with a dense fluffy bright white head. Aroma is sweet orange marmalade topped toast, apricot skins, yellow grapefruit. Big full body, syrupy, soft carbonation and lingering heat.
4.2A properly hopped and well-balanced DIPA, expected from New Belgium, worth a sixer any time, but watch that 8.5% ABV...
2.8Bottle care of one Mr. Stephen Dorsey; enjoyed at the palace of Dorsalligan, whilst the rain settled outside on a hot Friday eve. Nose is full of spicy carbonation and sweet syrupy hop. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lots of sweet sugary hops upfront, followed by dominant malt profile, spice and resin. Soft booze character in the finish.
3.7Bottle sample tasted at BBF Lab Madrid 2016 on the 02/07/2016. Clear golden colour with medium white head. Aroma of herbal hops, grass, orange peel and tropical fruits. Taste is fruity and grassy. Next one please!
3.6Very nice, balanced overall for an IPA. Hoppy, but smooth. Hints of grapefruit, grass, peach, and some bready malt.
3.1Six pack from Manchester CT. Pours out a clear light golden amber. Thin off white head. Aroma and flavor is very herbal and earthy with some pine, tropical fruit and citrus. Some sweet boozy malts in the middle. Long bittersweet finish. A little too funky for me.
3.9Puts golden amber from the bottle. Fine white head. Dry piney nose. Citrus fruit up front. A little honey tied to a clean hop resin through the middle balanced nicely. Finish brings a lemony booze whang.
4.4Bottle from Whole Foods Market Fair Lakes
Aroma: citrus, caramel, earthy, tropical fruits, pine
Appearance: clear golden with a white head
Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness,
Palate: medium body, creamy, average carbonation, bitter finish
Tasty
3.2Draft at SB. Pours a slightly hazy medium orange-y amber with a loose white head. Light orange peel and lots of caramel on the nose, with a bit of peanuts in the background. Creamy medium body with moderate carb. Grapefruit, caramel, and a nutty note on the mid palate. Given how present and even explosive many NB IPAs have been over the last couple years, this one is surprisingly restrained, even timid.
3.5Clear yellow-gold color. A big head sticks around with a vigorous half-pour.
The nose is pine and a rather biscuity malt backbone. A little prickly with a citrus nose at the end. Sharp hops. There is a touch of plastic/band-aid, but minimal.
The flavor is severe metallic alcohol, followed by bitter hops. The hops are more leafy, maybe sagebrush? The hops are not very sweet in the flavor. Perhaps a touch of mint.
The feel is rounded and malty. There is a serious alkaline/battery burn on the way down. It’s kind of an average Imperial. It’s chock full of alcohol, but it’s not all that complex.
4.2Stone fruit and tropical citrus on the nose. Tastes like fresh grapefruit in a pine forest, with a little caramel malt on the side. Smooth but with a big bite. Balanced and Bitter.
3.4Bottle, Enjoy By 10JUL16. Nose nice and hoppy, rind and a little tropical, with faint soap and resin, slightly stronger pine. Pours ultra-clear golden with a large beige head. Lightly oily, highly perfumed in the mouth, full body but not fat, strong alcohol heft but no numbing or warmth, just a hint of excess sugar and green character from the hops; faintest paper, light lotion under the citrus with smooth medium bitterness. Clean with a little bite by the finish and outright kick into the long aftertaste. Quite well-made and reminiscent of earlier IIPAs, but there’s also an ’Imperial Pilsner’ vibe that makes my palate reject these hops. I’d say it’s worth it for a single 12oz bottle, sure. 3.4Bottle from premier buffalo. Pours clear orange some foamy head and lots of lacing. Nose is fruity grapefruit and some caramel. Flavours of grapefruit, rubber bands, light caramel. Taste med bitter light sweet. Full body lively carbonation lasting alcohol burn and bitterness in the finish.
3.6A good example of the style, without blowing one away. Big grapefruit and orange ring, some tropical fruit, peaches. Medium density on the body.
3.7Bottle. Pour is hazy golden with a huge bubbly white head. Flavor and aroma of grapefruit, bready malt, resin, peppercorn, and a touch of caramel malt.
3.8Draught @ Milk and Hops - Chelsea. Slighty cloudy rich golden yellow with small foamy off-white head, floral hops aroma, low carbonation, slightly sweet citrus peel taste, thickish smooth body, medium bitter finish. Very smooth and fulfilling DIPA.
3.9A beautiful beer, dark gold, thick, foamy, off white head, resilient and lacey. Aroma of pine, resin and souring apples. I was expecting more of a punch from this on the back end... But it was still pretty yummy.... Sweet malts, cherry notes, piney hops, all with a creamy feel to it.
