New Belgium Slow Ride

New Belgium Slow Ride

Kicking back and relaxing with a session beer requires little more than a couch, some free time, and a few pals. Slow Ride Session IPA is up for this easy-going challenge, starting with a pour of sheened gold and plenty of fluffy, white foam. A blend of seven hop varieties, led by exotic Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin, twist together brilliant tropical scents of melon, peach, lime and grapefruit for a vividly fruity aroma. The flavor mirrors the aroma, while balancing a malty-sweet yet clean start and hoppy bitterness in the back. Light bodied and extra quaffable, Slow Ride Session IPA brings the finish line to you.

Pondering what would’ve been the score, if carlsberg label was on it. [355ml.can 4.5% BB.16JUL17 B@Eide Hendel Mendel ]

3.0 20.09.2016, 12 oz can @ home: Big slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is mild grassy, leafs, minerals, hay, moss, flowers, lawn, light malts, sap, hops, hints of dried fruits. Taste is slightly dry grassy, leafs, weeds, hay, moss, minerals, light malts, flowers, lawn, paper, bark, hops. Medium bitterness, slightly watery and dry grassy mouthfeel. Very light in every way. On the other hand, it’s refreshing and very easy drinking...
3.6 Can. Close to clear in the glass, golden in colour and with an off-white head leaving nice lacing. Very piney and grapefruity aroma, with some orange in the back. Its medium bodied and smooth on the palate, semi sweet, yet with enough bitterness to prevent it from feeling sticky. Mostly piney and grapefruity flavor too, some caramel malts in the back. Long piney finish with some grapefruit and orange zest. Not the most refreshing beer I’ve had, but sure tasteful and sessionable. 160917
3.6 This is a little thin. Despite that this beer delivers on hop flavor. It is low on bitterness for the finish but has some good citrusy tastes. Good session IPA.
2.9 Aroma is very fruity. Taste is some sweetness with a touch of bitterness. Overall refreshing.
3.6 Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver Golden color, clean .the aroma is a bit dank and fruity, but quite deep, with a biscuity touch; nice (7.5). The mouthfeel is very dry but not too weak; biscuity and crackery malts, decent hopping, a bit herbaceous and resiny. A very good example of the style.
3.7 12 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Clean, light golden pour. Pristine, clear gold color in the glass. Creamy, white 1 finger head that is short lived. The aroma and flavor are driven by pine with hints of citrus. Clean malt character.
3.3 On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is lightly fruity, with resinous hops and some fruitiness. Flavour is likewise fruity for an ISA, with floral hops, resins and berries. Juicy and refreshing. Pretty nice.
3.5 On Tap at BitterCreek Alehouse, Boise Clear yellow golden with a faint white head and wispy lacing. Nice fresh up front citrusy hop aroma. More of a woody biter hop bite in the flavor. Still, plenty of character for a session.
3.4 Pours clear golden with medium high white head Aromas of grass, bready malts, caramel, citrusy fruits Taste has bready notes, malty, citrusy fruits, caramel, hints of pine Mouthfeel is low to medium bodied with average carbonation and low to medium bitterness
3.4 Pint on tap at Beer Revolution in Edmonton (New Belgium Tap Takeover) pours a clear golden color with a small white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and grains. Taste is a citrus hop bitterness with a light malty sweetness. Light bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, a nice hop forward session ale with good flavor and balance.
3.9 Cler Amber gold thick bubbly white head; aroma is sweet and hoppy with notes of citrus and pine; flava is tart tangy citrusy with crisp hop bitter; feels light to medium and silky with slight fizzy zing; finishes dry moderately bitter
3.7 Good sized white head of fine bubbles which reduced and left a sticky sheet of lacing in the glass. Moderate hops aroma with some citrus (grapefruit), lemon and flaked rice. Color is a medium orangish gold. Decent hops profile in the flavor along with some mild and slightly sweey malts, pineapple, cereal grains and a light dry herbal finish. Low alcohol content makes this brew go down super easy. Clean finish. A very good summer brew.
3.4 Draft to taster at Dutch’s from notes. Pours a clear golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale toasted malts, grass, citrus, floral notes, mild bitterness, easy drinking, session IPAs just don’t excite me though.
3.9 Draft at New Belgium Asheville. Pours golden with an inch of white foam. Leaves a shitload of lacing in the glass. Solid pine notes on the nose. Nice pine on the tongue with enough bitterness to keep things interesting. Nice beer.
2.6 Bottle. Golden pour with white head. Herbal, floral and grassy hop aromas. Flavors are light on hop profile, light grassy and herbal notes.
2.0 12-ounce bottles in a pint glass. The worst of both worlds; overly bitter taste of an IPA and low alcohol content of a session.
4.2 Bottle. Bright and full of frolic, this delivers a full-on punch of citrus and fruit salad goodness, on par or better-bodied than many so called "double" or "imperial" beers. On one hand, I hate that EVERYTHING with the hint of hops on American soil is now labeled an "IPA" ... but this one harkens to the best of the early US adventurers into the style. (#6193, 5/16/2016)
3.8 Draught at Stringfellows pub, Stockholm. Light opaque golden color. Lasting white fluffy head. Fresh citrus hop aroma. Mild session ale with fresh hop taste and low bitterness. Medium body and no residual sweetness.
3.6 Light golden pour w/ fruity hoppy aromas. Flavors of tropical fruits and light berries. Easy drinking, great beer
3.3 Pours dark yellow clear, not much head . Aroma is light pine, grass, artificial lemon. Taste is a slightly harsh resin lemon, I am afraid I am getting a bit of floor polish. Though it is not as bad as that makes it sound. Mouthfeel is crisp enough.
3.7 Bottle. A: Clear orange color with a foamy white head. Lacing. N: Papaya, grapefruit, lime, and grapefruit. Pine and earth, biscuit. Some melon and a hint of the peach. T: Balance of medium sweetness and bitterness. M: Light body, foamy carbonation, no alcohol. Nice and dry. O: A really tasty Session IPA. Has all the flavor of a big time IPA without the ’bloat’.
3.6 Bottle from Q Club, Hong Kong. Hazy light golden color, white head. Fantastic hoppy aroma, mango and pineapples, some malts on the back. Taste is more malty than aroma provides. Still nicely hopped body, citrus notes, malty base.
